The Butchart Gardens - The Dining Room

First time for the afternoon tea experience. This was amazing, full English style, delicious food, lots of options for vegetarian and vegan, delicious tea, amazing service and beautiful environment and classical music

Butchart Gardens is always a wonderful place to visit regardless of the season. Having high tea in the dining room was like putting icing on the cake. Our server was delightful and full of information. Would highly recommend it.

have always enjoyed going here for tea and find the staff is very respectful of the Covid situation and doing everything to make it comfortable and extremely clean.

Tea service was efficient and small sandwiches and desserts were served with grace.
The lovely sandwiches had creative fillings that were fresh and locall
You could taste the unique and fresh herbs that were used
For a Gand finale a small cream puff filled with a chocolate style whip cream filling.
Top quality tea is served with service.

Really lovely old fashioned and tasteful environment. Food was good the service excellent. All COVID protocols, including the NYE specific ones were followed closely which we appreciated.

The atmosphere and decor of the dining room is lovely. The service was excellent - our server was so polite, knowledgable and friendly. The food was outstanding as usual.

Normally this restaurant is 5 stars. I had the duck pasta. Unfortunately, the pasta did not compensate for the saltiness of the duck's sauce. However, the smoked beet salad was very tasty, and contained no lettuce, which I appreciate. The Maple Creme was divine, and very attractively presented. The desserts are always outstanding, so be sure to save room for one.

We are season pass holders and decided to have New Years Eve dinner at the Gardens. It was absolutely perfect! The food was excellent as was the service and ambience. The folks working in the restaurant were inviting and friendly. The only thing missing this year was the Christmas lights, understandably so. Hoping next year will be back to normal. Will definitely be back to enjoy another excellent meal. Thank you to Butchart Gardens for a wonderful evening!

The gardens were dark, the restaurant quiet, the food was excellent, the service was a nice pace, not hurried. It was a very nice evening. Great place to go for dinner.

My beef and homemade gnocchi was excellent and service was great. The only downside was the single pane windows beside our table made that whole side of my upper body cold.

Delicious and beautifully presented afternoon tea. My husband had the regular serving which he said was excellent and I ordered the gluten-free. Most of it was excellent. The sweet items were delicious. The only issue I had was with the GF bread. It was very dry and quite firm and for me, inedible. If the Butchart’s chef can find a moist GF bread it would be perfect.

Great food and service as always. Of course we missing seeing the Christmas lighting spectacular, but that was no fault of the Gardens.

Excellent service in a lovely setting

Limited menu, main courses very expensive. Service slightly over the top probably due to the fact there were only three other tables in use. We probably won’t return.

Our visit was wonderful. Other then wonderful, the only comment would be to include some colour on the vegan tray even if a piece of Holly. Our regular three tier had colour but the vegan tray lacked somewhat in comparison. Otherwise everything was perfect. Almost too much food! ☺️

Christmas Eve tea was everything we hoped for from festive ambiance to the best 100th Anniversary tea to the tea savouries and pastries. It does not disappoint in service or quality of food. During Covid you totally feel safe and well looked after and can see all they are doing to sanitize and follow Covid safety protocols.

The only complaint I had, and this had nothing to do with the dining room is that they were not allowed to keep even the front area Christmas lights on.

Everything was just as we hoped. We even got a chance to see the Christmas lights

Wonderful experience - quite enjoyed walking around the gardens after our tea. The Covid restrictions actually made the walk nicer since we didn’t have to worry about people coming the other way. And the distancing made it quieter and more enjoyable.
