The Charcoal Room - Palace Station Hotel & Casino
Steak came out before the sides which took an additional 5 minutes. It appears one of the sides was not ordered at same time as our meals.
By the time the sides arrived, our steak was cold.
Just not a good experience
Excellent service. Lovely and quiet atmosphere. Appetizers...entrees...first rate. First rate experience!!
Hostess was rude so it didn’t start out well. When you enter you should feel welcomed. Not so much at this restaurant. Even when we were leaving she didn’t even thank or acknowledge we were there. And it was not busy. For that reason I don’t think I would recommend or go back.
Very poor service, rude waiter. Food was excellent. Nice area.
John Jacob our server was excellent! Thank you for giving us your private room. Everybody had a great time. The food was excellent and will definitely come back to celebrate another special occasion!
Excellent service and food and atmosphere. Great value.
Excellent food, wonderful service, very accommodating staff!!
There is no doubt we are coming back. Everything about the experience was positive.
Cold food twice. Food took forever. No manager visit to the table after the food was served cold for the second time. Had to call the manager to the table to get some resolution. After coming to the table he did make it right.
I have been going to the Charcoal Room since the first one opened at Santa Fe. It has been consistently good and a decent value compared to other casino steakhouses. It was busier than ever for Valentine's day, and that was reflected in the service and food. The staff was running around trying to keep up, but it was obvious they were not used to that many guests. Overall it was still a good experience. They need to bring back the black bean and cheddar soup. It was the best thing on the menu.
With the exception of the inconsiderate hostess, the visit was amazing. The food and service were outstanding as usual.
We love the Charcoal Room, Food is EXCELLENT. Also, we always want LUIS as our server. He is wonderful, friendly, suggests items, he's an overall pleasure
I have been going to Charcoal Room in Palace Station for years. Historically, it has always been a great meal. Last week, I took two customers there for dinner. Ahead of time, I told my customers the food has always been great so we were all looking forward to the meal. When we got there, the hostess was on her phone texting / reading something on her screen. She seemed upset that we were disturbing her. I shook it off and we got seated. The waiter was friendly enough but seemed annoyed that we didn't order drinks from the bar (something that would obviously boost the bill and in return, boost his tip). After we ordered a few waters and an iced tea, the waiter seemed to come around much less. We were one of 3 tables in the entire restaurant, which you would think would warrant a decent level of service and attention. This was not the case - There were periods of time where the waiter was no where to be found for 5 - 10 minutes. We all ordered medium rare prime ribs, two of which we requested to be charred. The charred prime ribs came out charred, like we asked. Maybe a little too charred, but we weren't complaining. The uncharred prime rib came out and looked like shoe leather. Not even the slightest pink color. It was immediately sent back to the kitchen. The waiter came back with the new piece of beef and it was ~40% inedible fat and gristle. It was an absolutely horrendous piece of beef - Especially for a steakhouse! * Side Note: If you want a better prime rib for 1/4 of the price, go next door to the Brass Fork (still inside Palace Station Hotel) - They serve a $9.99 prime rib that knocks the socks off the Charcoal Room. * Aside from the beef, the sides (yams, macaroni and cheese, and cauliflower) were okay - I wish they weren't served at room temperature. Oscar, the General Manager, came to the table and removed the inedible prime rib from the bill, which was a nice gesture. After coming here a few times each year for the last 5+ years, I will not be returning.
We had excellent food and service with a private dining room
We have eaten at the Charcoal Room at Palace Station many times and every time we have a fabulous experience!
Lobster and filet were wonderful! Crab legs were so so. Service was great! Will definitely be back.
Gary was a great waiter and knowledgeable. We both had fish dinners and portions were large and cooked to perfection. Halibut special was fantastic.
The absolute best King Crab I have had in vegas. Incredible filet. Cheesecake had real fruit. Amazing!! I have nothing but great things to say.
The food was OK. The Halibut special was way over cooked and lacked any special flavor on the plate. The other entree filet mignon was also cooked just ok and lacked any flavor. Not sure that I would ever return. Our server was very nice and polite. Was not a very overly exciting New Years Eve dinner.
Saying it was an excellent dining experience doesn't do the evening justice.
The crab cakes and 🍎 salad was delicious. The service was also great!
Oysters, salad, soup, crab legs, filet mignon and chicken were raved about. Two of us ordered bone in Rib Eye’s both were subpar, no flavor no marbling in the steak.
We had an enjoyable experience. The service was good and the food was tasty.
Everything was great. My server Luis was excellent
The food was delicious and service was wonderful. The pace of the meal was perfect to allow us to enjoy our meal. Definitely returning as again soon.
Although we had visited the Charcoal Room at the Santa Fe Station Casino, this was our first trip to the one at the Palace Station. Our meal was wonderful! We ordered the calamari to begin our dinner. This was the very best calamari I ever had!!! And I have been eating calamari for MANY years! It was thick and oh so tasty! Highly recommend this dish. I had the turf and surf which was scrumptious, my brother had the porterhouse steak which he said was perfect, and my husband had the petite filet which he loved. We enjoyed the side vegetables as well. Our waiter, John Jacobs, was an excellent server, prompt and friendly. Our dining experience at this Charcoal Room was pleasantly memorable and we will be back.
Food and service are excellent. Our server Gonzo, could not have been better. Excellent and friendly service. If you go, ask for his section. Atmosphere is very relaxing. Great value for an upscale steakhouse
The food is great. We eat there every time we are at Palace Station.
My wife and I were very pleasantly surprised here the other night. We each had the surf and turf and found the meat and seafood exemplary. Outstanding service made it for a wonderful night. Highly recommend.
Nice remodeled Restuarant; came here a long time ago.
Shrimp cocktail, Surf and Turf, 20oz bone in Ribeye, Filet Mignon and sides were good. All steaks were great !
Several different specialty drink options and wines; limited beer.
Didn't see a dessert menu; however celebrating my birthday so they gave me a scoop of ice cream and flourless cake.
Appreciate Michelle Gye for stopping by to say hello !
Amazing good food, surprised how much I enjoyed
I was looking for a special dinner for a celebration. Most places were way out of my budget. I stumbled upon The Charcoal Room online . Upon arrival I was so impressed with the atmosphere. Our server Caleb was wonderful. We enjoyed a lovely perfectly cooked surf and turf dinner! It may be a little off the strip but it’s well worth the extra ride. I would definitely go back !
Wait staff was friendly and quick. Food was amazing and the wine selection was great wait staff was there without being in the way my Diet Pepsi never was lower than half full.
Food was really good but server was not the greatest. He was really trying but they seemed a little over whelmed like a few people called off. Loved the vibe and the food.
