There was no atmosphere at Churchill’s bar. The service was terrible & the drinks were very over priced. I wouldn’t recommend or return
We sat on the terrace for drinks in the late afternoon (arrived around half 4). The service was excellent & could not fault it - we had a really nice waiter called Victor who was welcoming and friendly. However, it was very very quiet with minimal atmosphere/ambience which we didn’t expect - I would recommend they put some low volume relaxed background music on as I think that would definitely make a difference. I probably won’t go back as we prefer places with a bit more atmosphere considering the cost you pay to be there. Also just for info (they do make this clear when booking) it’s a minimum spend of £30 per person for the time seating we had.
Lovely warm setting by the fireplace. Great drinks and a good vibe
A great little terrace where meetings and small private events can be enjoyed. Service was impeccable, and will definitely visit again.
Average bar but absolutely terrible service. Not once asked what we wanted to eat or drink, had to flag down staff constantly. Only time staff stopped at our table was to tell us we needed to be out in 2 hours (we were on the terrace and inside the bar was totally empty yet we weren’t offered to be moved inside until we asked, just told we needed to leave).
Great place, great staff, central location, easy to get to
Nice cocktails but small
Amazing food, great service.
Had the best time, with my partner who like Cigars.
Service was exceptional and all staff were attentive.
We were staying at the hotel on Saturday evening and booked the Churchill Bar for pre dinner drinks, I was alarmed at a minimum spend of £30.00 per person after 16:00, but went along with it as we were due to eat in Locanda Locatelli which joins the hotel.
Unfortunately Locanda Locatelli had a Covid-19 outbreak 24 hours before our booking and our reservation there got cancelled, but given it was to late to change The Churchill booking we kept our reservation.
The service was warm and friendly, professional and courteous, the setting is really nice with a good ambience, very clean.
The cocktails were mediocre to say the least, I had an air safari and my wife has something that resembled a glass of Vimto, both left a lot to be desired. We had two others whose names escape me.
We spent over £80.00 on four cocktails and didn't really feel it was very good value for money, I have no problem paying but I do not think it is appropriate to enforce a minimum spend on residents who have paid hundred's of pounds a night for a room, I can see this happening moving forward as hotels have suffered as a result of Covid - 19 just like the rest of us.
All in all not a great experience and cant say I will be rushing back.
The terrace is on a busy junction next to traffic lights and it is a cigar bar, you’re basically sat in clouds of stinky cigar smoke, listening to all the cars race by whilst paying an extortionate amount for some fairly average cocktails.
Bit expensive and basically if you don’t like smoking don’t go to the terrace, full of people smoking
Rude staff- terrible service - average food - complacent attitude- we were asked to leave to make way for another booking before the 2 hour window and before we even had desserts-
Disgraceful and won’t be back
Excellent as usual. Slightly pricey, but excellent
Lovely ambience, extremely helpful and polite service, delicious nibbles and wine! Would definitely recommend especially if you fancy a drink in a nice armchair by the fireplace :-)
Lovely experience and five star service we had a lovely time and delicious food.
Outstanding service, excellent food and high-level cocktails. Must try the olives. Optimal cigar selection.
Excellent ambience. Great drinks. Outdoor seating is ideal for smoking cigars.
Very pretencious I would say. But very good food. Worth a visit.
We had a wonderful night at the Churchill bar. We went for the cigars and to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday. The made the evening really special, thank you so much.
Very Pricey and not sure why. Service reasonably good, wifes' champagne being charged nearly £50 more a bottle than 43 Jermyn Street (Restaurant adjacent to Fortnums) . Asked for olives (seemed no problem) then none cam. Asked why 20 mins later and told 'They used to be complimentary' but not now. 630pm for no apprent reason, lights dimmed and music cranked up to make a nice ambience a cacophany, Poor and expensive.
My favourite place only because of the staffs who are super friendly. So thank you
Wonderful terrace and bar and great food, great customer service
Myself and my family were looked after very well and nothing was too much trouble. We were found a nice table inside (due to the weather) despite having booked to be outside. The cocktails were delightful and our waitress for very informative and attentive which was very much appreciated. Thank you for a lovely experience.
I have celiac disease and after a meal at the Churchill bar, which was supposed to be completely gluten-free as per the assurance of three staff members, I developed severe digestive and other symptoms which seriously interfered with my life and health for the two weeks following my unfortunate visit.
cozy and high end. recommend for business drinks or brunch
The cocktail menu was very diverse and original. The food was a hit and miss though - the seafood spaghetti were very tasty, but the octopus starter was quite chewy.
I'd recommend going for nibbles plus a few cocktails.
Fab terrace, over priced cocktails, tasty food but could do with more options. Service was brilliant !
Very nice for a quiet outdoor drink - expensive but innovative cocktails
I had a long wait for the cigar area. The waitress who served me was nice. I will try again. I believe in second chances
Loved it there at the Garden! Nice Staff, nice space and very comfortable and cosy ! Only thing would have liked a little background music , and that every time emergency services drive by the sirens are so alarming ! But doesn’t take away from the beautiful place the garden is; I recommend the place !
Great atmosphere, attentive service, overall an amazing experience
A nice way to eat and drink outside. The staff are very friendly and efficient.
Gorgeous terrace bar with delicious food and wine and really friendly staff
My first post lockdown restaurant visit and it didn’t disappoint. Exceptional service with friendly and attentive staff. Excellent food and cocktails! Will be back again!
Wonderful place for drinks with friends. Love the ambiance and the indoor fire place. The staff are very accommodating and attentive.
Dear Reeta Thank you for taking your time to share this lovely feedback. Our team will be happy to have you with us soon again! Stay Safe Olga Saveljeva Bar Team Leader
Had starters of the smoked salmon and the burrata. Both were excellent. Main were the burger and the chicken thigh, both very good. The sweet potato fries were delicious.
I’d been here before and the Caesar salad was good the first time but unfortunately, this time it was very salty and drenched in dressing. Also, bring back The Writer cocktail.
Very disappointed with the service received. Waitress tried to give wrong beer as they had run out of what we wanted. Should have asked if we were okay with it rather than just putting it on our table
