our server was awesome and the food never fails to impress!
We had a very nice time thank you
Happy we tried the GC. Great food.(service is an issue) Great entertainment too every other server seemed ready, willing and able...even worried about us. We booked an OT resv for my husbands 67th... the restaurant server asked about it, but avoided the celebration. At the last minute, she asked if we wanted our birthday dessert?
Everything was wonderful as usual!! 🥂
Favorite spot in Old Town, now! Everything at The Gambling Cowboy is so decently priced and absolutely exceeded all my expectations. There wasn’t an item we tried that I did not love. Only recommendation is to get a reservation way ahead of time because they are very busy! Everyone loves this place.
Don’t live in the area, but definitely will be coming back here every time we’re in town!
The prime rib was great, as were the bacon wrapped scallops. The sides were mediocre. Everyone else in my party felt the same way. The entree was good, but that was it. For the price point, I would much rather go someplace where the all around quality was excellent. It took us forever to get our food. The server came by and told us that the kitchen was backed up yet there were many empty tables and the people who were seated and ordered after us were served and finished before us. They would come around to fill waters, but not all the waters at the table. Several times we had to ask for more water. Once we finally did get our food, they were quick to rush us out. As I said, I don’t mind spending the coin, but the service and quality needs to be there. It wasn’t.
I ordered the ribeye filet. The sauce was too powerful to taste the steak. The presentation of the potatoes, green beens and corn seemed to be just piled on the plate. My wife ordered the lobster mac and cheese, which we split and was really good. Both items though were a bit overpriced. The ribeye meal was about $54 and the mac n cheese $32. I know they have to make money but basrd on the quality i feel $45 and $28 would be more realistic considering you can get a really good steak for $55 elsewhere. The ambiance while going for the western cowboy look, feels outdated.
Wife had sword fish with risotto which she said was great. I had the rib eye with stuffed Pepper. Rib eye had little marbling and was very bland. Almost looked like it was pan fried. I’ve had better steaks at Sizzler!! Will not go here for steaks again. Probably back to Great Oak if I want a good steak.
I come here for special occasions and every time it’s a great experience! My favorite restaurant in town!
New. Exceptionally surprised!
Wonderful service, excellent food—-our fav place to go when in Temecula
We were visiting Temecula for the wine - but found the Gambling Cowboy on OpenTable. Great find. The service was great and the food was very good.
When we come back we will visit again !! Recommend highly - it was not stuffy but was a very fun place.
It’s was a great place food was fantastic and service was wonderful 👍 very fun atmosphere
Food took a VERY long time to arrive. So long we were late to our event afterwards. Either the server or the kitchen made a serious error because the next table arrived when we did and ate and left before we were served.
May not return again despite amazing food.
Very loud and crowded.
Loved this place! Celebrated our 10yr wedding anniversary and it was amazing! Staff and service was excellent!! Would recommend to anyone celebrating a special day in your life!! Love love love
The Gambling Cowboy has become my favorite restaurant in Temecula, for excellent American style meals, with options that can surprise and delight. Service is excellent and the décor is early 20th century western. If there is a downside, it is the need to book early as there seems to always be a wait, otherwise.
ellen our waitress was awesome . The food was incrediable . The hostess at the front was very nice . Dont have a bad thing to say about anything . Even the bus boy was great . GREAT JOB !!!!
Love this place...its pricey but I always leave very full, very satisfied and willing to easily come back again.
We made our Valentines Day reservations only December and were disappointed to be seated next to the bar for our special dinner plans made so far ahead of time. We arrived early for our 6:30 pm reservation and were late to be seated, otherwise we would have asked to be seated elsewhere. Lots of people arriving without reservations who appeared to get better tables than our early booked reservation got us. Disappointed.
Celebrated our anniversary here. We loved the food and service was excellent. Would surely go again.
Went for my moms birthday. Food was lame. I had the pork chop and it was super dry. Our waitress seemed to be annoyed to be at work, unknowledgeable about the menu and uninterested in providing anything above “not terrible” customer service. Won’t be returning.
the steak was outstanding and the drinks were very good too. I will be back....yummy
This is our favorite place! It never disappoints! The service is always amazing, friendly and attentive. The food is delicious every time. You do pay for this type of service and food, but it's worth every penny!
We went for my Birthday. My steak was tough and my baked potato was cold. Our waitress had a very non chalant attitude which was not appreciated.
Great food, great service.
Ellen, our server, was outstanding! She made the meal. We were seated near the saloon which was loud. Food was delicious, cooked perfectly, beautiful presentation; just TOO MUCH GARLIC !!! Garlic was on everything!
Our steaks were were perfect and the swordfish was excellent. Service was very attentive and friendly.
Service was awesome. My first time there, it was my fiancee bday and they sang happy bday to her and gave her a chocolate pudding dessert with a candle on it. The steak was AWESOME. will definitely be going back
The steaks were perfect, the service was very good. We will be returning.
We have wonderful time. First the staff was great as we were in very bad traffic and I called they made the change to our time no problem. The service was the best food on time and took care of any special needs we had. The food what can I say it was great! We will be going back.
Great birthday event for the family. The out of town guests were very impressed with service and food.
Excellent food and amazing service as always
Great slab of meat. Enough to split with two people.
Fantastic food and service. I ordered The Gambler steak and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Best steak that I have ever had. The server was very nice and attentive to us. I highly recommend this place.
We went here for my husband’s birthday. We had our 14 year old and 12 year old sons with us. Everyone loved the food and the service was outstanding. We sat out on the patio, which has heaters and is screened in on the 3rd floor looking East across old town Temecula. We look forward to our next visit!
Appetizers were good, food was good, our server CASEY was OUTSTANDING!
Although the decor is a bit overdone, the food was AMAZING. Excellent service and a delicious menu. Highly recommend the petite filet! That garlic butter was so good!
The food and service was amazing. It's a pricier restaurant but definitely worth the money. The restaurant is small so it easily gets crowded and loud. Definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time.
This is our go to place for visitors and whenever we want a great steak. It’s top notch in food, beverage and service.
