We had good service at the pub for lunch. Whilst the menu was limited the quality was high. The price was too much for lunch time. I wish there was a better choice of beers for a pub
I’ve been to the Garrison before. The food is always amazing. The staff are very friendly and the place is beautiful.
Great Sunday Roast! Quite tight on space so probably not great for big groups.
Really nice atmosphere with attentive and great service, great interiors and food.
I had the vegetarian Sunday lunch was amazing. My friend had the beef was very impressed that they cooked how you wanted it, he had med rare. Very happy
Second time there. It is a lovely pub, good food, not very cheap though. Small menu but very good food. Recommend.
Good food. Pleasant and prompt staff. Cool place.
What a great pub! Delicious food, lovely ambiance and super helpful staff. Very much look forward to returning!
Booked for Sunday lunch. Off to a bad start - they had no beer on draft other than lager. Opted for an (overpriced) can of pale ale. I know this is central London, but how do they justify £5.80 for a half pint can? Waitress brought a can of low alcohol pale ale, which I had specifically said I did NOT want. Didn't notice until I looked at the can, after drinking half of it. Decided not to make a fuss, as this was a bit of an occasion, having not met up with my two friends for the past six months. There was only a choice of two roasts-beef or chicken. It was OK - I've had better in other central London pubs. For desert, opted for date cake with toffee and Marmite sauce. Have to say, the toffee and Marmite sauce tasted a bit weird.
The bill was just over £50 a head for two courses and a couple of beers and 12.5% service. Not all that brilliant. I won't be back.
Fantastic bottomless brunch, great service. Would definitely go back
Very welcoming and food on the whole good - desserts combinations did not work for my taste - stick to traditional desserts
Food and service were good, it is quite noisy in there but to be expected. Only real downside was people hanging about by our table with no masks on waiting to speak to staff. Also quite a few diners not wearing masks around the venue. Appreciate it’s difficult for staff but for those of us trying to stick to guidelines it was frustrating.
Very busy and quite loud but fantastic service.
We chose the bottomless brunch option on Saturday - service was good but the food portions were very small for the price.
The staff were so lovely to me, hugely recommend and lovely vegan food.
Delicious food, good service and feels safe with covid measures
The pub was a total surprise. Food was amazing, and you have options if you are a veg, fish or meat person. Also menu was short so you dont get lost and really well chosen.
If I have to say something negative is t that it was too packed.
Generally happy with the food and experience. Not quite the ambience it was pre covid but I guess that is to be expected. Would definitely go back there, the service was especially good.
Was hands down one of the best experiences I have had in a long time. The food Im still salivating about 4 days on. There's nothing better than a meal that stays with you after the experience is long gone. Absolutely divine. Service - second to noce.
Ollie, you looked after us so well.
Terrible service. Terrible value. Calls itself a pub but isn’t.
The food was too salty for my taste, and we were asked if we could leave after 1 hour as the table had been booked. Having a full glass of wine in front of us and paid a 80£ bill this was really disappointing. Won't be coming back unfortunately.
I'm sorry to have to write this review, as I really loved the Garrison before, I have been a few times for breakfast last year and sunday lunch and dinner in the past and it was excellent before. I have lived in the area for 4 years and I would always tell friends that it was a great pub when walking past, a little pricey but worth it.
The lunch we had was on the eat out to help offer and thankfully as I would not have wanted to pay £18 for fish and chips of a poor standard, there were hardly any chips and the fish on the batter was very oily, I felt like I was eating oil and the peas were so small portion and not mushy. This was a business meeting very disppointing to take my staff there and a client, we have had fish and chips across the road at the Woolpack pub and it was tens times better and the staff were very friendly after reopening after the pandemic. The man that greeted us Adnan (gentleman who's name is on the bill) was unfriendly we didn't know the exact new rules about the masks (that you have to wear when entering it changed last week) I had to find another mask for my staff member and he said quite angrily that it is the law, I ignored rude his tone.
Only the lady that took our order was nice, then her shift finished so we didn't see her again. They didn't ask if our food was ok or if we wanted more drinks or dessert like the Woolpack, it wasn't even busy for lunch time. It was a real shame and I won't go back, I can't see them surviving with that quality of food and attitude. A friendly and welcoming service is very important at the moment to survive difficult times, what's the point to go into a pub if you have bad food and unfriendly service, it feels like the food went to a lower quality because of saving money. I saw a stark difference the same day going to the real greek in Bankside where the server was very attentive and friendly, we gave her a good tip.
Very good Sunday roasts, but I was disappointed by the potatoes
Brunch menu can be very standard, but this place has much more interesting an unique menu
Mix up with the order was dealt with smoothly and appropriately; all to the Garrison’s credit.
Nice unrushed evening in an environment that’s as safe as we can make communal dining.
Lovely service during this difficult covid time. Great food and lovely selection of wines. Just a lovely place to eat.
Great service and coping well with the additional COVID restrictions - seamless 👏🏻
Fantastically well-organised, well-ventilated and confidence-inducing setup. Delicious food and wine (as ever), and excellent friendly service.
Good for friends lunch catch up. Roast was excellent. Service was okay. Ambience was good.
Lovely food, great service, we’ll definitely be back.
Exceptional service, great food as always.
Lovely food but rather expensive for small-ish portions. Service very friendly but I reduced the rating because none of the staff wore face masks. This made it hard to relax and is definitely at odds with other restaurants I’ve visited since lockdown
Great Sunday Roast! Nice space, tasty food, good location
Fantastic service lovely food nice ambience everything was perfect for relaxed Sunday
Excellent - food was delicious, service amazing, lovely atmosphere
Ok experience nothing special
The food and drink were fine, tables were distanced which made us feel relatively comfortable, but the music was SO loud that it made it hard to hear each other and the waiter misunderstood us a few times (brought me a second drink I didn't order instead of ketchup). Waiter also kept getting really close to us because he couldn't hear us, which isn't super comfortable during COVID when the wait staff aren't wearing masks.
I think it would've been a great experience if they'd just lowered the music so they could hear us! Currently wouldn't recommend, but would once things go back to normal.
Nice ambiance and staff, but the food was only average and the cocktail I had was a bit disappointing.
Great food and experience
Faultless as always and great to be back after lock down.
Cod and lobster pie!
Even sweeter with them keeping the dine in money off deal from Monday to Wednesday.
