These guys did. great job - our last chance at eating out pre-lockdown and boy - what a meal. Had the trout and the chicken pie with delicious chips and was memorable !!! Wife had Scallops and steak *(which she never orders) and raved about it all the way home.

The real lasting memory is the staff and their positive nature despite this being the last night they would open for a while, they were fantastic, made a big effort for us to enjoy it and did not dwell on the difficult circumstances they find themselves in. For this alone - its worth a 6 star effort -Well done guys!

Will be back the moment you re-open - but going to come back for your gourmet takeaways!

Wonderful menu. The food was delicious! The wait staff was very courteous and friendly! We always enjoy having a meal at the Greene Oak.

The steak tartare is to die for and the beef short rib exceptional.

Very good food! I had a Sunday roast which was delicious; the meat was cooked very nicely and the portions sizes were generous! The only suggestion to the restaurant for improvement would be to serve slightly thicker gravy, but that may just be my own personal taste.

Disappointing meal. Have been several times but this wasn't up to par.

A simply stunning meal in every single way. Chicken with Leg Confit, garlic mash and sprouts. The food at this venue is getting more and more lovely every time we go.

My partner and I have visited The Greene Oak on several occasions since lockdown for Sunday dinner and enjoy the experience, the portion size is substantial and the service is very personable.
We will definitely be back!

I was amazed by both the attentive service and quality of food for the price which for four of us and three course only came to £150 including 3 flutes of Moet Champagne (Yum) and a glass of delicious Chilean Sangiovese.

The roast beef was by far the best I've had in the restaurant in Berkshire and will certainly be returning and recommending this to my friends.

The manager Kirsty and their sommelier team were incredibly helpful and allowed me to taste the wines to help with my selection which I thought was a lovely touch!

Highly recommend starting with Moet Champagne as well which apparently has only just gone on by the glass (even Vintage by the glass!)

I went with the family and the childrens menu was on point with fantastic chicken breast nuggets they adored!

All round it was lovely to be back in a great British Pub and honestly this is one of the best meals I've had for a while!! 5 Stars

Despite having to sit outside (mixed households), we enjoyed our lunch so much. The food was exceptional - we both chose to eat vegetarian and the quality of my potato cakes was amazing - so flavourful and served with a really well thought out selection of vegetables - and a perfectly poached egg!

Great food and service

Despite Covid-19, the pub was fairly busy. The tables were spaced well for social distancing, and we were checked first by phone, then in the pub to confirm we were a single household group. We felt that the pub was doing everything to keep its customers safe.
The food was great quality, good value, and not the usual pub fare. The service was polite, friendly and attentive.
This was only our second time there this year due to various lockdowns, and the menu was quite different from when we ate there in October. They have a good selection of craft ales on tap.
We will definitely be going there again, hopefully with friends once all the restrictions are lifted.

Usually very high quality but on this visit mu burger was rather dry and chewy. I wondered if it had been frozen during lockdown? Other than that it is a great place to eat and relax.

Brilliant in every way. A little pricier than same places but given the quality of the evening well worth it.

We used the Travelzoo voucher to enjoy dinner for 4 just before the lockdown.
The voucher covered all the cost of their fixed price menu.
Everyone thought the food was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive.

Another great meal at the Greene Oak. Usual high standard of food, each of us enjoying 3 courses for £19 ! Superb value. Will be back again after lockdown.

Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and happily moved us to another table when requested. Food was different to normal run of the mill gastro pub food and very good.

First visit here, very impressed. Enjoyed the food, interesting menu. Dining room was a little cold, but food and drink warmed us up! Will come again.

We have been to the Greene Oak several times for lunch. The menu selections are unique. The Devonshire goat is tender and delicious. The cider soup was also very good. The wait staff is courteous, friendly and very accommodating.

Just great. Lovely friendly staff, buzzy atmosphere and excellent Sunday roast. Can’t fault it...
