The Greenfield Restaurant
Despite the COVID-19 issues making the restaurant feel a little empty, our waiter Chaz took good care of us, everything was wonderful (although the creme brule could have been more custardy and less eggy, but that's a nit-pick really), our steaks were cooked perfectly, and despite the somber atmosphere in these difficult times, we had a wonderful evening. Well done overall :)

My wife and I had a rare night off from our little ones and settled in trying The Greenfield Inn based on reviews and advice of friends that had been in the area for quite some time. All food was wonderful and our waiter Don did a nice job serving us. We were in no rush but from start to finish dinner took about two hours. We had apps, soups, salads, entree’s and dessert. We will definitely return and recommend to others.
It has been several years since I have been to the Greenfield restaurant however I was not disappointed on this visit. The food and service was excellent and it's still remains as one of my favorite special eating places!

Very nice meal. Everyone’s food was great. Atmosphere was conducive to comfortably holding a conversation.
A great night to dine & spend time with very dear friends in a great restaurant.
We had brunch. Very nice menu. They started off the meal with tiny biscuits and muffins. Very tasty. Lots of breakfast juices. The lunch side of brunch was a little limited. My party had breakfast items which they all enjoyed. I had the halibut was super good. Very nice setting. Loved the whitehouse picture on the fireplace. Would like to see a hamburger with an egg on it as a menu choice.
We enjoyed our dinner very much. The food was excellent as was the service.
We had reservations for 7:45 on the 14th. We were asked to wait and while we were waiting other tables of two with 8:00 and later reservations were seated. The young man operating the seating was obviously confused and later came back to ask for our name around 8:00. I went to the desk and actually looked at the seating chart. When I saw the chart I realized he either did not log us in or lost our place. There were probably five tables seated ahead of us that had reservations later than us. The young man was definitely exasperated and not doing well with the volume on a busy night. He should be assigned to a slower paced task that does not require a need for organization.
Had a lovely Valentine's dinner ! The staff was very friendly and efficient, and the food was absolutely delicious!!
We enjoyed our Valentine's Day dinner at The Greenfield Restaurant. They had a special menu that still had lots of options. Really enjoyed the special V-Day cocktail!

As you can see from the above the restaurant is wonderful - my review is a little different.
On receiving a Valentine rose as we left, and many smiles and goodbyes, we found our car would not start, we also had neglected to bring our phone - We headed back inside and everyone was wonderful, letting me stay inside while the chef/owner helped my husband get us back on the road. They were all so caring and did more than necessary - they have our utmost gratitude - I'm very pleased I got to write this - would like to shout it out.
We had 4 separate entrees and everyone was excellent. I had soup that was delicious. We sat near the bar, there was a piano player and we had a great time. The salads were excellent and we had 2 desserts that everyone enjoyed. I would go back again.
We enjoyed a delicious Sunday brunch at Greenfield restaurant. The menu selections had something to please everyone and the specials were a great addition. The service was excellent. While not in the heart of downtown Lancaster the restaurant was conveniently located and very cute. I wish the wood stove had been on, I’m sure that adds to the charm of the restaurant.
A perennial favorite - I recommend it highly - good for business or romance interactions
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were congratulated by the host and our server!
It made us feel special. They seated us above the bar on the balcony. It was noisy to start because of the bar but quieted down later. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, although he forgot to bring our bread. We had to ask him for it. Everything considered, a great evening.
We eat out a lot so for us this was just a weekend dinner. Food had good flavor, cooked well and wait staff was friendly, but it was probably 20% overpriced. Feel like there is an identity crisis of trying to be a neighborhood spot and fine dining which gets you lost. We read a couple of reviews before we went that the service was bad, it wasn’t bad... just slow. Sat down and was greeted well, but you could tell most of the restaurant was regulars as most of the attention was spent with them. Drinks from the bar took over 10 minutes and after being presented the check they had my credit card long enough to run to Costco walk the store and check out before they brought back the check with my card. Might be a great experience for others as the food was ok and if you like wine they had a really great bottle list.
Everyone enjoyed their food & the atmosphere was conducive for conversation. Several people got the Classic Benedict which they all thought was delicious. One person got the beet salad which also got high marks. Several people got the peanut butter pie for dessert. They raved about the individual little pies in a chocolate crust with a light peanut butter mousse. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Excellent restaurant, excellent service and a fantastic meal. We were eating early because we were going to a show so when we arrived the dining room was cold, they immediately accommodated us and turned up the heat. The entire evening was outstanding. This is definitely a restaurant that we not only would recommend to everyone, but we will be going back very soon.
Served biscuits for brunch that were hard as rocks. Muffins were over baked too. Not happy with their "bread basket" but was happy with the brunch entrees we were served. Would recommend but would tell people about the muffins/biscuits.

Overall it was a pleasant experience. Food was delicious, expectedly so:) the hostess’s were a little less responsive to greeting us as they were socializing amongst themselves for a whole minute before acknowledging us. Other than that, everything was nice.
The ambiance was great - and I really wish I could go with 5 Stars, but I was severely disappointed when the meal came and it was barely warm. The taste was extraordinary but not having it at an acceptable temperature took away my enthusiasm for the entire dining experience. I did not send it back because then the two of us would not be eating at the same time.
Food was excellant. Service was really good even though our soups were mixed up (wrong soup was brought to us). But it was new years eve and they were very busy. Over all it was a good time. The waiter was great and apologized for the soup issue.
It was our anniversary and the piano guy sang a song for us. It was lovely. Everything was wonderful
My wife and I had dinner on Dec 26. The service by Don and Anthony was fine. My pork chop dinner was very good. My wife had the crab cakes and was somewhat disappointed. Crab cakes were dry and served without any type of sauce. We are accustomed to very little breading and a serving of lump crab in a tiny bit of seafood sauce. Over all a nice experience.
Great service. Food was excellent. It was very festive for Christmas Eve and they were very patient with our children even with the spilled water and many requests!
The food was nothing special and the service was mediocre at best. I was very disappointed. For the price and their prior reputation, I expected better.
Extremely disappointed. Entertained 2 friends we all had Filet Mignon. I could hardly cut with a steak knife! Poor quality meat! Caesar salad poor dressing very tart no cheese! Embarrassed to put my friends through a poor presentation. Bad experience. Had not been there in 2 yrs..
This was a girls’ day out, 3 generations together.

Fantastic dinner at a great restaurant run by a former White House chef. Everything about Greenfield is great from the food to the service to the cozy country-chic ambiance.
Overall quality was good, though the fish and scallops were overcooked. Salad was skimpy. Really want to like this place more.
THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME WE ATE AT GREENFIELD SINCE THE NEW OWNERS TOOK OVER. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE MENU AND EVERYTHING WAS STILL THE SAME NO DRASTICK
Our waiter was very good (friendly, competent), but was busy and he had too many tables, so service was slow.
Let me start out by saying that this was our first visit to this restaurant since the change of ownership. We frequently dined at this restaurant under the former ownership.
Despite booking this reservation 1 week in advance, we waited 20 minutes to be seated at table in a noisy bar area and asked to be moved to an area where our party could talk. There was an additional 10 minute wait for a table to be cleared. We were taken to a room on the 2nd floor which was cold, had no background music and looked a mess because 8 tables needed to be cleaned from the previous guests. When we left 2 hours later, 3 tables were still not cleaned. The menu prices at this establishment are not in line with this lack luster atmosphere.
With respect to the food, our party of 4 ordered the soup of the day which was a seafood chowder. When it arrived the soup was cold. It took quite a while to find someone who could correct the situation. When we finally received our meals, the presentation was not good and my crab cakes were browned too long to the extent of being burnt and the fingerling potato that accompanied it appeared to be over baked oven fried potatoes that you would expect with breakfast and not a $32 crab cake dinner. The vegetables were also cold and no tarter sauce was provided on the plate and the server never asked Iif we wanted any. When we finally found someone to assist they said they would send the manager and this took another 15 minutes. The manager was very apologetic and said that this was not how our food should have been served. He also gave us a gift certificate to return after the holidays so that we could have a relaxing dining experience and good food.
I am hopeful that our return experience to this restaurant is better than what occurred today.
