The Grill at Marriott's Shadow Ridge
This is a great place for a burger or sandwich after a round of golf. The onion rings are outstanding! It's a functional place for dinner but nothing special in the context of wonderful restaurants nearby.
The wait staff is wonderful and the setting is beyond beautiful.
Our food was fine. Prime rib was delicious as was the salmon. My problem was with the cost of drinks. My husband had a $7 Coors Light and my well vodka and soda was over $9. Absolutely out of line and will make us choose differently when we want a meal out.
The prime rib was excellent. Excellent service. Say “hello” to Oscar from Andrea and Fred.
We enjoyed 2 meals at the grill during the week and both were pretty good for quality and quanity.
The service fvrom our server, Jamine, was to be remembered for her attentiveness and attitude. She made the experience 5 star. We also had a good experience with the server, Nelson. We will return when in the area. Also there is a great view of the golf course from the outside patio.
Thank the Lovely waitress we had who was so accommodating allowing us to sit there for hours and chate - See you soon.
It's too sad that it can't be open every day during the summer.
The Grill at Marriott's Shadow Ridge offered a great ambiance, however it was overpriced for what was offered. The food was okay, I didn't feel like leaving the resort so it serviced its purpose. We only ate at the restaurant once during our 7 night stay. Yes, I would recommend it from a convenience standpoint. I would not if you're in search of a meal that is going to knock your socks off.
The chicken picata was delicious.
Victor is absolutely amazing. Thank you for the great service!
Prime rib to perfection and excellent food and service Nelson is always attentive and friendly.
Food was good. Service was extremely slow
We enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were allowed to chose where we wanted to sit and we were told
Could order burgers even though they weren’t in the menu and they were delicious! Great food. Great atmosphere and relaxing and beautiful surroundings.
We were staying at Shadow Ridge so the Grill was a convenient place to have dinner. Service and food were good.
We were seated on the outside deck, overlooking the course celebrating a birthday dinner. Only a few of the tables were occupied and it was a wonderful quiet atmosphere. Suddenly a large man walks out of the restaurant and sits at the table next to us and proceeds to carry on a loud conversation on his cell phone. It lasted awhile and it was clear he was just catching up with someone. After that call ended he began to scroll through his phone and made SEVERAL more phone calls.
He was quite loud and we could not help but here his personal details. As if that weren't enough, he began walking around his table, which, being next to ours, meant he was creepily standing behind my chair for a while.
It seemed obvious to us that he was being very rude. He ruined our experience, and worse, seemed aware that he was doing so.
One of us wanted to complain but one did not so we didn't mention it. However, considering their atmosphere and prices, I would think having some management of the dining experience for all diners would be something they would have considered. I would suggest some discreet notices about allowing all diners to enjoy their meal without a phone call in the background.
Great place to meet up after golf or casual dining. The pretzel app was really good, the fish and salads were great.
If you are in the area, swing by
Service was great but the value for the food and ambiance is not worth it. My opinion.
Had a nice dinner here while staying at Shadow Ridge. Had cocktails, salmon and salad with chicken. Well prepared food, attentive staff. We would certainly return.
We were staying at Shadow Ridge and decided to try The Grill after a day of sightseeing. Given the location close to the timeshares we knew the place would be family friendly but the tables are quite close together which along with the noise level, made conversation difficult.
We shared my Caesar salad and ordered a goat cheese flat bread appetizer which was tasty. My wife's lamb chops were fine but the prime rib I ordered medium rare was more to the temperature of medium well but still was tender. Food was ok but overpriced so not much bang for your buck.
I really disappointed Sunday breakfast buffet.
You should avoid to use Sunday buffet.
Buffet quality is terrible.
Too few menus and options.
Look at the menu!!
22 dollars and you can eat only 9 meals and taste is poor.
And don’t include the omelets. It’s too expensive!!
Can you imagine the only nine foods buffet?
Had a great Sunday lunch. Started with the best onion rings. I always try to have them at least once during a visit to Palm Desert! Salads and tacos were all delicious. Always great service . Enjoy being able to watch the golfers when one sits outside.
Great ambience. Service made me feel welcome and appreciated. Great choice of entrees.
Everything was great -the food, atmosphere and service. Nelson was a very attentive waiter!
Food was just good. Service ok. She was busy as had too many table to serve so we waited more than we should have. Ine prime rib dinner was overcooked.
Excellent service at the Grill. Also the Food was excellent.
Management made a big mistake, allowing a last minute private party in, which produced havoc in the kitchen. To make it worse, they let the private party order off the menu, A buffet or simpler approach would have been a better choice. As an owner at Shadow Ridge, I’m a bit worried about F&B decision making on an ongoing basis.
The pasta dishes we both ordered had been excellent!
Food was very good!!! Lower rating because of SO many TVs all tuned to a pathetic reality show. Knew TVs would be on, it is a ‘sports bar’, but NOT one tuned to a sport. It was our first night here & didn’t want to get back in the car & drive more so The Grill was our only choice. If it were a nicer restaurant with out the distraction of TV we would be eating there again. Sometimes it’s nice to not need to leave the property. We understand they are catering to the golfers, but golf channel wasn’t even on.
Save your money and go somewhere else. The food is not good. There are giant TVs blaring in the dining room, while you're trying to eat and talk. And loud drunk people at the bar, which is positioned smack in the middle of the restaurant, screeching. The worst dining experience. Food is not worth paying money for. Felt sorry for the nice employees.
As always we enjoyed eating at The Grill. The food is excellent!
Like the grill...make reservations...arrive and be seated quickly where we like and enjoy the meal. Great service and food.
My wife and I stopped by for a late lunch and had a pleasant experience. I had the "Giant Pretzel" and she had the tacos. We enjoyed excellent service and the food was very good! We will definitely return.
A mediocre restaurant. I’d call it a coffee shop.
One of the better restaurants on a Marriott Vacation Club property. Great selection. Good food. Would visit it even if I was not staying at a MVC resort.
We have dined here a couple of times now and we really love the fish and chips but this time we added the blackened salmon. Both dishes were delicious. We like coming here. People are so friendly and the food is great
It’s very noisy with 4-5 big sports screens going. Food was ok...nothing special. Nice waiter who was way too busy so service was slow. I wouldn’t return
We were so happy that David our server informed us that the plate size was large so we ordered a fish and chips which was delicious and a large salad and we came home happy. Would love to go back
Definitely not a 5 star experience but a very nice resort restaurant. If you’re looking for a casual, resort experience this is it. If you’re looking for more, keep looking.
Solid food, great service from Jasmine. Not exactly fine dining, but better than most chains and really convenient for those staying at the Marriott Shadow Ridge Enclaves.
