Great meal and great staff- will be back
service was a bit slow for my tastes but the overall experience was good. steak was cooked perfectly and the boozy shakes were a nice touch.
Had the BEST LemonDrop Martini at the bar. Dinner was fabulous! Our waitress Allison was the best. We shared a crab cake and calamari for appetizers. My daughter had sushi and loved it. I had the filet mignon and it was done perfect. Definitely would go back.
The shrimp and octopus apps were wonderful.
The food and service were good, the place is a bit noisy hard to talk but overall will recommend it.
The Hamilton is an expansive restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. The menu offers many choices, including sushi, and every one is sure to find something that fits their palate. Service was prompt and efficient.
Food was excellent!
The food was wonderful, and the service was fantastic. Highly recommended for a business meal, or a casual meal while on vacation. Excellent.
The food was very good and my husband (who is a connoisseur of Long Island Iced Tea) was very happy with his drink (s).
The food has really changed and it’s just awful. crab cakes was over cooked mac n cheese tasted like they used the sickest cow too get the milk from, just different from when I first learned about them.
Great food, had crab cakes and scallops. Great price for DC, and excellent, speedy service. We were here before going to the Kennedy center, and our waiter got us in and out quickly.
Dinner included complimentary bread and butter, and the coffee was french press. Will definitely be back!
Good service and acceptable food. I would have liked white meat chicken with the eggs and sausage gravy and my husband would have liked white meat and a bit more sausage gravy. Decent meal for a decent price. The bathrooms were very clean and all personnel friendly.
Visiting DC and selected Hamilton’s for brunch. Everyone enjoyed their meals and Peach Sangria was excellent. Service was excellent as well. Will be back!
Excellent service in a lovely atmosphere with a large and varied menu. Delightful!
Our waiter was attentive to everything, including our dairy allergies, and the food was exceptional!
Best food ever - steak and scallops were fantastic! Our waiter was so incredible. Best experience
The Hamilton was lovely. The food and service were both excellent. The restaurant was a little noisy, but that was just because of the soccer fans watching the FIFA match that was on during our meal. I would definitely recommend.
Second time in a week - marginal food and weak service for lunch. Would not go out of my way to eat there again.
We arrived for a late night date after a Hamilton performance at the Kennedy Center. I wasn’t informed upon making the reservation that they discontinue their full menu after 11pm and only offered a handful of options at this time of night. Even with the lower numbers of diners and menu options, both due to time of night, the service was slow though our server was very cordial. Unfortunately not all staff was as professional; my wife passed two employees in the hallway who were using very loud profanity.
Food was great ! Atmosphere was wonderful! Two size options is a plus !
My family was vacationing in DC and wanted to have a nice dinner on our last night there. This turned out to be a great spot. Love the whole vibe of the restaurant and the food was excellent. Great kids menu for my youngest and loved how you could get small portions of pasta.
Met our son who is an active naval reservist after touring Washington for the day. Nice dinner, good wine, good food.
It was a wonderful meal .. our server was fantastic. Great date night choice
Our waiter was not very good. He didn’t check in with us didn’t offer bread for table took him a long time to to bring us anything that we requested.
Kids and parents loved it. Great options for all and all quality. Amazing sushi. Decent crab crake. Son thought the grilled cheeses was best ever. Husband enjoyed the halibut and my daughter loved the ragu. All around great dinner while vacationing in DC. We went back a second time.
Sad that a waiter for 2 people can’t split a check up by our meals and is lazy enough to just split it in half. Also she was so slow so disappointing on the service
Visiting DC on vacation and was able to get a reservation. Great meal and environment.
Very bad service
I like the restaurant and have been here at least 3 times in the past. This time however, my steak which was supposed to be medium was rare and while the flavor was good and I did eat it... I could have done without the encrusted salt. Also, I had to ask for a steak knife which should have been brought right away with my steak. Bread was served with no bread plates and the tablecloth had stains on it. Don’t get me wrong...these were not fresh stains but stains that apparently were set in after numerous washings. I pointed the stains out to the girl that was setting up the table next to mine and she said the ‘tablecloth is fine’ and did not offer to change the cloth. Perhaps I’m making too much of it, but when I’m spending over $100 for dinner for two, I prefer not to look at food stains from someone’s previous dining experience. When stains cannot be washed out...perhaps it’s time to retire the tablecloth. In any case, it doesn’t look good.
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at The Hamilton. I definitely recommend making a reservation, as it easily gets crowded. Fantastic place!
My wife and I were in DC for 4 nights and we had 3 meals at Hamilton, 2 dinners and 1 lunch, it is that good!!!!!
We had a great time at the Hamilton on the Fourth of July. The only issue was the service. It seemed like first the hostess and then the waitress was overwhelmed by the amount of people they were responsible for. This made it difficult to get prompt service. The manager even stepped in at one point. I would still recommend it as I think this was more due to a staffing issue than the quality of the restaurant.
We have dined at The Hamilton several times based primarily on it’s convenient location and varied menu. We have consistently had poor service, however, and our most recent visit was the worst yet. Our waiter was slow to even bring us water. We advised him that we were pressed for time to attend an event but he made no effort to expedite his service. After we placed our order, we waited an unreasonably long time during which no food or drinks were derived and he made no effort to check on us. We finally had to get up and ask another server to find him. When he finally showed up, after another employee brought our food, he made no effort to apologize. We asked for our check and again had to wait so long that we had to track him down again just to get our check. He was indifferent and seemed overwhelmed even though the restaurant was not excessively crowded. Nice atmosphere but avoid unless you plan to bunker in for a long meal.
We had reservations on July 4th. Perfect distance from American History museum. Crab cake was really yummy, lots of meat w only a little filler. Interesting cocktails. Outstanding onion rings!
Awesome as usually
I have eaten there before and have loved it. The service was slow and the food took forever to arrive. Once it did arrive it was cold. Was a huge disappointment.
Great service. They accommodated our request courteously
The food was very bland and came out late. Not a good experience for me.
The Hamilton is one of my FAVORITE SPOTS IN DC! The food is delicious, the drinks are tasty and the vibe is nice. Paige was our server and she was so delightful! My friends and I had a great time and I'll be returning sooner rather than later.
Everything was great! Wings with mumbo sauce, blackened catfish, peanut butter cheesecake, all delightful!
