Fish Tikka Masala
Pieces of mahi mahi fillet marinated in yogurt, cooked in a tandoor & then folded into a special sauce.
The nanager ordered for us and the choices, portions and service were great!
Food was really good. A strong indicator of a good india restaurant is how they're Naan is soft, and we'll made and it certainly was. Service was a bit slow, but that's understandable given what the restaurant industry is facing. Highly recommend and would go back!
Excellent food, service was lacking a bit.
Very bad experience.
We booked for 3 pm, we paid for an Uber but upon arrival they informed us that they were closed from 3 to 5. We showed them the notice they had on the door that indicated their hours until 11 pm and happy hour from 3 to 5 pm. We had to go without eating.
We ordered the lunch buffet. The items were depleted when we arrived. We were told repeatedly that the buffet items would be restocked and they were not. We waited it out an hour for the buffet items to be restocked and they never were. We spent $20 per each buffet for basically no food being offered. Very disappointing. If you’re out of food just be upfront about it rather than trying to make money for no offering.
The person taking reservations made us wait for 50 minutes despite me having a reservation. Even after we waited he said the food would take 45 minutes to arrive even of we got the table now. I had a horrible experience. i would not recommend.
Packed up our food and left in a hurry. We were seated less than 6 feet apart from a table with 11 (I counted) guests. Restaurant was packed for dinner and we did not feel safe at all. I’m a physician and throughout the pandemic, we have continued to dine out at restaurants in NYC and elsewhere that were following Covid guidelines. However, the situation at this restaurant was ridiculous. The owner insisted that we not pay for our meal after I pointed out obvious non-compliance with seating capacity regulations. The food was standard. The service was quick, but they forgot to give us our drinks, and when we reminded our server, we were charged twice. The ambiance may have been pleasant in non-pandemic times
Great staff and amazing food. Definitely recommend!
The staff made us feel like we didn’t belong there. We had 4 different servers, each one was very short with us. I paid $100 cash on a $65 bill & they never brought the change back to the table. I’m assuming they thought we would not tip. They all just disappeared, even the hostess. I’ll never go back to this restaurant again.
Had a great experience dining here with my parents. The food was good overall. The starters were appetizing
First time 2 weeks ago when we came on that day service is outstanding & very polite . Manager offer mango lassi & peas rice to my little daughter. She said best restaurant ever. My daughter is keep telling me that i want to go to that restaurant. I took her this weekend but same manager didn’t give her mango lassi or he didn’t talk with her & she is so upset. She said now I’m not coming here again... Sorry to say but so much difference between first time service & second time .i came here all the way from Wisconsin just for make my daughter happy but poor service.
Food is outstanding & delicious.
I’ve never been to an Indian restaurant before but was not disappointed by the service, ambience or the food. I’d definitely go back!
I live around the corner and finally decided it was time to try out Indian Garden. When we walked in, I was immediately impressed by the decor. It was absolutely beautiful and so detailed. Once we were seated, our server didn't even introduce himself and was very unfriendly. It was off putting for sure. We ordered frozen margaritas and for $12 each, I thought they could've been bigger. For dinner, we ordered the chicken samosas to start (so good) and butter chicken and tikka masala with a side of rice and garlic naan. The portions were perfect and the food was absolutely incredible. I didn't know it would be spicy but they were both so good. For dessert, we ordered the mango lassi and it was to die for. Basically a creamy yogurt smoothie with mango. So freaking yummy! I will definitely be back. However, I hope the service improves next time. Our server was acting like he didn't want to be there and it was obvious. You don't want to feel like a burden while dining out.
Very beautiful restaurant with nice staff. Our friends were very happy with the food taste. That being said, the food did take a long time, but it was okay since we were amongst friends. The dishes are pricey, and was not enough food. Two people shared one of the specials ($25-$35) and I asked if it was enough for two and they said it was plenty. It was not which was disappointing, we left a bit hungry. Would try the other individual dishes in the future, but only for special occasions since it’s a little pricey.
This is by far the best Indian food I have eaten in the US. I am from London, home to some of the best Indian restaurants in the world, and this one could hold its own with any I have experienced.
Absolutely love our experience every time!
Best Indian Restaurant in Chicago. Highly recommended by everyone we’ve ever introduced to Indian Garden. Have eaten here several times, both dine in and take out and the quality is consistently exceptional.
Always wonderful atmosphere and food!!
Delicious food but a little on the expensive side. Definitely try the Achari Murg Tikka.
The food was ok
Food was pretty bad...India house is way much better
Simply the best Indian restaurant in Chicago.
Nice environment to bring friends and family for North Indian food.
Food was very good and authentic. I had the Murga Vindaloo which was spicy and succulent. The garlic naan was some of the best I ever tasted. One dinner companion got the mixed grilled and raved over the lentils and basmati rice. We also had paneer and a shrimp dish that were also quite tasty according to my friends. They also really enjoyed the mango lassis! My issues were the check; we were accidentally charged for a breakfast buffet at 6:30pm. It’s a good thing we really checked the charges...Also the restaurant is not easily accessible for people with disabilities; you have to call in advance to get an elevator. If not, you will have to walk up 2 flights of stairs. It was my first time at this restaurant and I was unaware that there was no private elevator to use. I have end stage arthritis in both knees and climbing those stairs was indeed a challenge.
Amazing time for a first timer during restaurant week and absolutely loved it. Cant wait ti return to this great location.
Food and service was good but can be better and fresher. It was a bit too noisy.
I had requested that we get seated by the big glass window table. I am not sure what happened to my request. I got there after everyone from my party was there and already seated. I did not ask about this request as I did not want us to move. May be next time. 😊
Excellent indian food. Great service.
Good food, great service. I love the music choice and the decor
Buffet offered a good variety to sample indian food. Food in general was good only exception being desserts offered in buffet. Didn’t care much for them- overly sweet and not too good.
A great alternative to a traditional Thanksgiving meal
We had a large group and they did a fantastic job taking care of us. The food was excellent and the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice occasion or for a group party.
Excellent experience, delicious authentic Indian food!
Amazing food. Great service. Will go again when I go back to Chicago
I would recommend it for the ambiance. I found the service to be inattentive. Our table was not cleared, the waiter did not follow through on the cocktail request and then seemed put out that we mentioned it, overall the staff didn't seem too friendly.
Good and pleasant service.
Of the many dishes offered on the buffet, only two were just so-so.
Definitely will return.
Food was great as was the service! We will go again next time we're in town.
The staff was rude and made us feel very rushed, when there was still 30 mins before brunch closing
It was an amazing dinner celebrating my husband birthday, food was great and they gave us a special dessert for the candles
Server was rude and not friendly - need to be trained in customer service.
