Great food, great service, great atmosphere for that special occasion.
Perfect food was absolutely wonderful, couldn’t have been better, smitty our server was the best. Cocktails were made with care and all apps and entrees were exceptional. Highly recommend this Very welcoming venue
Fantastic restaurant with a very homey feel to it. Our waitress Sasha was superb!! Food quality was off the chart. We will be going back on our next visit to Gettysburg.
Food was fantastic! The service was excellent. Will go back!
Very mixed bag. The chowder was fantastic, my scallops were over cooked, the 9 hours lamb shank was ok. My creme brûlée was only brûlée...no creme...an odd choice. Ambience and service were very good.
Beautiful ambiance. Delicious good and service was excellent! I will definitely return!
We had a great experience had reservation at 5pm, service was very good. If you are looking for fast food it is not, we enjoyed the wine the bread, before our soup and meal. The filet mignon was very good, the crab corn soup was excellent, the overall experience was worth the price.
Once again, a great meal, with great service (Tracy is great) in a great environment!
Great atmosphere and waitress was outstanding. A bit pricey but for fine dining no more than I’m used to for comparable restaurants. Would definitely go back.
Sasha was a fantastic server! A keeper.
Great service from Sasha. Spinach salad excellent. Very calm atmosphere.
Great dining experience in Gettysburg. Visited each of our last two trips and we will be back. If you’re looking for a great dining experience check out The Inn at Herr Ridge.
We had the crab cake app which was delicious, and a house salad- very fresh. The gnocchi was delicious but the salmon could have been better...it was marinated in a Miso sauce, with a trace of Mango sauce on the side, the kale had too much vinegar for me and the bed of quinoa was fine. So salmon was blah tasting and looked blah as far as presentation goes. Service ambiance and other food was very good.
Pricey place and food was mediocre. Cold Cucumber soup needed salt to taste. Main dishes not as good as the menus leads you to believe. The GNOCCHI did not have the amount of vegetables it should have. The sauce was flat with very little taste. $22 for potato dumplings, quite a excessive, but if made well would of been worth it.
It was my wife’s birthday. She loved the Inn and the service and food were great.
Superb cuisine. Always a delightful experience.
Greeted as we entered. Provided a great table to celebrate our 45th anniversary. Service was good and food was excellent. Hugh selection of wine. Glad we went to Herr Ridge.
It took forever for our food to come out & the place wasn’t busy. The lamb shank was over cooked & the only thing it tasted of was whatever spices & seasonings they used. However the scallops were good.
Awesome experience! Beautiful and historical ambiance, attentive and friendly staff, delicious and professionally prepared food, surprisingly broad wine list. A definite “must go” for future trips! Don’t forget to buy “Freddie” Herr a beer!
The food was outstanding! We look forward to going back. The people there are great as well, service is second to none.
The only real problem with the experience was that it took an hour to get our meal.
Excellent has usual. Great food, friendly folks. One of our favorite go to places.
Wonderful experience as usual
We had an excellent experience. The food was outstanding and the serverwas very attentive. The prices were in line for a restaurant of this quality. Highly recommend!
A lovely experience, I would come back and refer anyone in the Gettysburg area to enjoy the ambiance.
Our waitress was attentive and personable. The other waitresses were also well trained, an although new, you would never know it from their attitude and expertise. The only reason my review was an overall 4 stars, is that the food service was very slow (it was not a crowded evening), and much wait time between courses. OK if you have a lot of time to spend, though we thought 2 hours was bit excessive. All in all, a pleasurable evening.
I’ve been here numerous times and this was a disappointing visit. The food was OKAY, but the service for a restaurant that was practically empty was lacking. Maybe there is a menu update needed, but nothing sounded very appealing. I settled on the chicken which was good, but it was chicken. Scallops were described as okay, but rather tasteless. Our one diner who ordered steak, seemed pleased. Plus, we picked a rather inconvenient time to dine since other times were taken on Open Table, yet our dining room was empty.
We had such a wonderful dinner, the table was elegant and just as we requested. (a quiet corner) Our server Debby was lovely. The food was fantastic! 5 Stars all the way. It was the most memorable evening of our mini-vacation. Thank you so much for the memories!
This was a high end restaurant. The food was exceptional. Excellent service. The wait staff was very friendly.
Great food great service. Beautiful dining room
I am so sorry to have to write this review but this restaurant needs help. I would be it is better on the Friday and Saturday nights but during the week the chef has no passion at all. this is the kind of restaurant that was so popular in the '80s and '90s. it is totally out of step now. Very French in concept offering complicated and when done perfectly, delicious dishes, However, people don't eat this way anymore and you just can cook like this 7 days a week. I ordered the Chicken Remoulade which was clearly reheated from another night and unedible. It had hard bits of what I don't know so I sent it back and got the tenderloin of Beef. I asked for it to be medium and it came rare and the port wine reduction was old and reheated from another night. It tasted slightly rancid. The twice baked potato was reheated and I think the asparagus was as it was wrinkled and tired and had no flavor. My partner's Mahi Mahi was overcooked and tasteless. and our 3rd's scallops were just ok. The best part of the meal was the creme brulee. Everyone is tired of running this place. They put on their best face but you can tell the passion isn't really there. I suggest a shutdown and revamping of everything from the decor which is stuck in the '80s with banquet chairs wrapped in covers and lots of stuff everywhere to the menu which is also stuck in the '80s '90s and bring it up to date with something fresh and modern and interesting.
My husband and I were impressed with the whole experience. Our server was very pleasant and accommodating. Our meal was excellent, wonderful wine menus with lots to choose from. We will definitely go back
Our dinner was excellent. Nikki, our server, was wonderful. The menu had great variety and the prices were reasonable for the venue. I had the lamb shank which was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The dining room is very nice, with little noise. Overall, it was a great experience.
A lovely setting, with gracious and knowledgeable staff. Menu interesting, food was great, amazing wine list.
My wife and I chose the restaurant for our anniversary. The food was great but the service was not. For example, our drinks went unfulfilled for about 10 mins., our waitress seemed annoyed to be working, and didn't know common aspects of the menu. When it came time to order and after listening to other waiters and ours give a full list of the specials, our menu suddenly became abbreviated even though the waiter beside us literally a minute before offered another table the full version. For the money, the food is worth it, the service is not.
Outstanding wine list; Excellent food. Oyster and Crab cake small plates were great. Beef Tenderloin, Mahi Mahi, Scallops and Shrimp large plates - all superb high quality and prepared to perfection. Desserts were a real treat too. Will be back, highly recommend.
Our server, Debbie, was great and the food was excellent. Relaxing and romantic atmosphere. 5/5
The food and service was VERY good. It would’ve been nice to have a choice between the Valentine’s Day menu, and the regular menu. It was a bit overpriced, but I’d go back.
We had a cozy table for two in one of the front rooms of the Inn. The menu was Prix Fie which we picked from a la carte. We really enjoyed the wine pairings provided by the wine sommelier and would recommend trying it to get out of your comfort zone. It’s one of our favorite places.
Although the food was pretty good. The price per person for the Valentines Day special was not worth it. I have eaten at 4 and 5 star restaurants for less.
Our waitress at times was absent for an extremely long time between courses. The restaurant was not packed.
Food was excellent and very well prepared. Presentation was very attractive. Building and rooms are very charming.
