   A great place for a beer and a burger. Neula (behind the bar) is a friendly, warm lady and always so welcoming. (mixes a good drink, too!)---Table service is with a smile and the food is consistently good. A neighborhood gem!

   The food was good but with only one server to the entire place, things were slow. Also they ran out of Gunness which was not great considering we were there to celebrate St Patrick’s Day!

   We booked a table for dinner 8:30 pm to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. Upon arrival, we were made to pay a “cover” for a band that was outside. We didn’t come for the band or to “party” outside, we came for dinner. We were brought upstairs for our table, were we couldn’t even hear the music. Ordered soup which came cold. Waiter was like a robot and it was obvious everyone was in the weeds. Will never come back to this restaurant again. A complete zoo and food was average at best. A shame considering it is a neighborhood restaurant. Waste of money.

   I enjoy this place and am glad it exists in this corner of the world. Ate lunch in the pub area, which is cute and comfortable. The service was attentive. The food is usually very good. This time I had a special, the salmon quiche. To my surprise, it was made with canned salmon. I didn't expect that and would not have ordered it if I had known. My lunchmate's fish and chips was out of this world good.

   Our hostess was perfunctory and seemed disinterested but our server was pleasant and efficient, as was the busboy. We had made a request for a quiet table for celebrating a birthday which was neither acknowledged or provided, and we were among the first customers. The food itself looked and tasted very good, but we would think twice before planning a special outing there again.

   We have been twice now, the first time we sat in the bar and we had both exceptional food and service. This time we were seated upstairs in the balcony area on our own. The service was a little sporadic and the food this time was very underwhelming. My fish and chips (something I was looking forward to after last time) was chewy and had soggy batter, the ships were also soggy and not crisp like previously. The banger plate was Luke warm sadly. Hubby’s beer had what looked like scoby in the bottom of the glass- possibly the end of a keg. No big deal :) We were just a little disappointed at the difference in experiences having had such a great one the time before. Parking was also hard as others have mentioned so we were glad we had arrived earlier than our booking time so we were not late.

    I had requested in my online reservation to be seated at a table, separated from other people in order to have privacy. That was not arranged when we arrived, and they offered us to go upstairs. I opted not to do that because I didn’t want to be in an area where there was nobody. So we took a table in the main room which was fine. The next concern I had was that it was very cold where we were sitting. We requested that the overhead fan speed turned off. One of them was, but the other one was not, and it remained cold for quite a while, but then eventually warmed up enough to be comfortable . I would not return to the end at this point.

    We had difficulty finding parking and needed to park quite a distance away. The inn is cozy and inviting and all service personnel were warm and energetic. I thought the Mediterranean Platter had too many carbs and not enough vegetables - the eggplant was by far the best offering as well as the fresh hummus. We'll be back to try some other dishes. Thanks for considering how to expand parking.

    It had been a few years since we'd been to the Irish Inn and decided to go back for a special occasion (my husband's birthday, as noted on our reservation). When we arrived, the host asked that we be seated upstairs. I had never been upstairs, so agreed. (in hindsight, I'm not sure why we were directed there, as a party of 4, as the downstairs dining room did not look overly busy). Unfortunately, it was somewhat desolate up there, with only one other table occupied, and it sort of took the wind out of our celebratory sails. Half of our group loved their food (rack of lamb and banger plate) while the other half were underwhelmed (beef stroganoff somewhat bland) and caesar salad with flat iron steak that was overcooked). Was really looking forward to the bread pudding for dessert, but it was somewhat stodgy and not moist as it should be. And I guess they don't pay attention to the notes that go with the reservation, as no mention was made of my husband's birthday (although to be fair, I could have reminded them, and I didn't). We probably would have been better off in the pub section of the restaurant, as we could hear lively piano playing on our way out with a nice crowd. Maybe next time...

    Very disappointed in Irish Inn at Glen Echo. Food was poor, service erratic, ambience horrible. We were seated at first in the pub, sharing the space with a large group of families with young children running around and yelling. Then we were seated on the freezing porch with barely adequate heaters and largely ignored by servers. The food did not make up for the other negatives of the experience. Not planning to return nor would I recommend it to anyone.

    The variety, consistency and quality of the dining experience at the Irish Inn is uniformly excellent! Add to that the friendly staff and the reasonable prices and one has a wonderful experience.

    Went to the Irish Inn for New Year's Eve, 2022-2023. They had a special three-course dinner which was reasonably priced, had several choices, and included a glass of champagne. Best of all the food was very good and the service was excellent. We will be back.

    Our brunch orders were not prepared correctly; eggs were made wrong on each plate and the corned beef hash was missing all the potatoes and peppers. It was only shredded corned beef on a plate.

    Our waiter was excellent. He’s a real pro. Our favorite waiter. The food was delicious. The beef stroganoff was great as was the special of day mahi mahi. It’s great that they have many more fish selections. The ambiance is very calming in the downstairs dining room.
