The Light House

We dine here often . It is a very pleasant venue. The staff re most attentive and friendly. He Sunday lunch is very good. We enjoyed the jazz evenings when they were orgnaisied. Now stopped due to Covid. It is well managed by the convivial Hugo .

Hugo is a wonderful host. The food was delicious & it was great to find that the restaurant was almost full. Unfortunately they have got to close from tomorrow.

Apart from a period of time a few years ago when the manager wasn’t around, The Light House has been consistently good for many years. Food is great with a varied and interesting menu, staff are very friendly and professional.

They’ve removed a number of seats as a result of COVID which is sufficient to make me feel safe in the restaurant. It has the fringe benefit of reducing noise levels too since it’s the larger tables that have been broken up.

I felt really uplifted after my meal in the Lighthouse, really hit the spot, in these weird times. Great buzz, efficient and friendly service, delicious food from an inspiring menu. All in all, would highly recommend and so glad to see this restaurant is still open for business in such a challenging period. Long may that continue.

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening with a delicious dinner immaculately served. The table spacing was excellent and we shall definitely return as this is a super restaurant by any standard.

our favourite local restaurant for a treat. Excellent food and wine

Got to The Lighthouse 30 mins early as our pre-dinner drinks didn't go to plan. Very accommodating getting us a nice table on arrival. Not an extensive menu = a good sign, and genuinely wanted to order almost everything on the menu.

They were very busy on the night so service was quite rushed and got marked down. Nothing rude or painfully slow...just could do better.

The food was really delicious and the wine was equal to the food. Three course meal each plus 3 glasses of wine between 2 came to £130, so all-in-all as expected. Would happily venture back over to Wimbledon Village eat there again.

Always excellent food and service at the Lighthouse

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening celebrating my husband's birthday. Food, service and ambiance were fantastic.

Excellent restaurant with good selection of dishes - really difficult to choose! The friendly, welcoming staff are superbly marshalled by Hugo to deliver high quality service. The food is well presented, beautifully cooked to perfection and can be accompanied by some excellent wines from the extensive wine list. Highly recommended.

High quality interesting food well presented. It’s a pleasant environment with a bit of buzz but still fairly quiet. The socially distanced tables help with that too.

Excellent food with an option for vegans / vegetarians with each choice. Gets a bit busy so if you book one of the earlier slots you have to move on after a couple of hours

Excellent dinner. A “bubble” meal for 3. Professional and friendly staff delivered a wonderful meal. My seared tuna was quite exquisite, perfectly cooked. Seared scallops and parsnip purée was a “joy”. Beautifully presented guinea fowl was “quite perfect”. As for the lamb 😋😋. Such a pity there were not more people there. Excellent early Monday night dinner in the Lighthouse. Nice welcome, good choices on menu, including one vegetarian curry which was excellent. Food overall was of a high standard. Restaurant was quiet and service good.

Hugely enjoyed our Saturday night visit, was the first time I’ve been there in 10 years and was still as good. Lovely staff, intimate but still buzzy setting, recommend!

Gorgeous local establishment which is welcoming and easily manageable in these challenging times. The food is excellent and the setting is crisp yet homely. Worth the little extra !
