Called restaurant early is day to ask about the Prix Fixe. Sunday special. They assured me it was in effect. Couldn’t wait because we are not often in the area on Sundays. When we got to our dinner, they told us it was not this Sunday. Pretty annoying.. I came specifically for that and I could have selected a dozen other restaurants. No apologies or compensation was offered when I asked them about it. Wouldn’t go back for their arrogance and lack of integrity. Food average, btw. Wedge salad overdressed, veggie bowl bland and not special. Wine was good.
We are so sorry that this went so wrong. We don't know what could have happened being that we provide a price fix menu Sunday-Thursday every week. Please let us know if we can possibly make this up to you.

45 minute wait for 7pm res. No apologies. Obviously understaffed. Food came cold. An expensive underwhelming experience.
The Maidstone is warm and inviting, service great, but menu and kitchen needs an overhaul
Vegetables good, duck inedible, salmon undercooked, bread stale.
We still enjoyed a lovely time, but would only order apps and drinks next time.. at bar room, or as group to share.. more success with salads and sides.
Seated on porch, which was freezing, with other people’s dogs.
Hard to get a second glass of water.
Parking terrible. Valets incompetent.
Food was great. Chef needs to find new home.

The food came out sporadically. I ordered veg chili and I emphases I did not eat meat. The order came and after I had a few bites I realized there was meat in it. Also the ice burg lettuce was soggy. The noise was almost unbearable but in fairness it is part of an evening hang out so buyer bewhere
Love the food, the service and the atmosphere! We are gluten free and there are plenty of choices.
We live locally year round and have found the Maidstone offers a romantic setting without much of the hype and “see and be seen” stuffiness of its local, very nearby competitors. Service and food quality was also up to snuff. This occasion was Valentines Day, and it was a delightful evening. In the winter months, I would stay away from the annex dining area, as it’s poorly heated. Aside from that, we have found it difficult to go wrong choosing the Maidstone
The worst meal I’ve had anywhere in the last 5 years. Salmon was OLD and overcooked and smelled fishy, oily and tasted gross. Salad was ordinary and uninspired, bacon was sparse and not fresh. It’s pricey and the quality of the food is terrible. Don’t bother. Too many other fabulous restaurants to chose from in the area. A waste of time and money.
The Maidstone dining experience will be most memorable from the time we entered the iconic establishment until the time we left. We were graciously greeted by Kyle, the hostess, but we were early for our 7:45 pm reservation. She resourcefully asked us if we’d like to be seated right then as she had availability. We jumped at the suggestion and then was escorted to the beautiful welcoming Sun Room, where we were assisted by James. Even Greg (George?) the floor manager, checked on us a couple of times to see if everything was ok. The food was delicious from appetizer to dessert. We didn’t want to leave. Even after we had an after dinner drink at the bar we didn’t want to leave. All in all the experience was warm, welcoming & delicious. I’d recommend The Maidstone To Everyone. Everyone should have the opportunity of dining with elegance & decorum.
The manager is an extraordinarily committed gentleman who made sure that every detail of the night was not just right, but exceeded expectations, and that we and others enjoyed every aspect of the dining experience at The Maidstone Arms.
We encountered a small issue when we first arrived and he came to our table, asked if could join us and asked for our feedback. And this was after the Assistant Manager had already made accommodations for us.
I've never experienced such care and attention to the customer at any restaurant here or elsewhere. We even received a discounted, then completely comped bill. To say that management at the restaurant is competent, knows the business and truly cares about what the customer thinks and experiences is an understatement.
This all comes on top of the consistently excellent and creative fare and uniquely pleasant ambiance.
We are long time patrons of the restaurant and 28 years ago had our rehearsal dinner there. We can truly vouch that current management -- including the chef -- is doing a superlative job and has your best interest at heart.

Food and service were excellent. One of tables near us was extremely loud. One dessert was excellent the other strawberries and lady fingers was hard as a rock.
Absolutely wonderful. The staff was outstanding and the food delicious.
Place is very cute and quaint aesthetically from the curb appeal and inside is cozy as well. Gave me vibes of The Inn at Pound Ridge (if you’ve been).
However! The ambiance inside was all wrong. The music was club music or chic modern hotel vibe with fast beats and was far too loud. Because it was loud it forced everyone to shout and made having a conversation unbearable. There was an annoying electronic violin player going around fiddling away. If you’re trying to make a peaceful calm experience, that of which I expected from the reviews and style of the place, then bring in a real violinist and call it a day.
The food, appetizer was good enough but not great. The main course however, while portion size was perfect, lacked flavor. I’m pretty sure the chef forgot the use of salt completely on everyone’s main course. For the the Hamptons and the clientele that frequent the area, I expected more. Did I expect Michelin star, no...but I did expect a significantly better meal. Something that would be par for the course of the Hamptons with a higher standard especially for the price.
Redeeming quality aside from the curb appeal, and portion size was the wait staff. Sarah our server was very attentive and everyone was wonderful, couldn’t have been nicer.
So if you’re looking for a cute place with friendly staff, look no further. But if you’re looking for a great culinary experience, I’d look elsewhere.
First of all, there was about a 2 or 3 inch snowfall just before dinner time. You would think someone would shovel the icy walk as well as the steps leading into the restaurant. But no, no one did. There was just enough snow to be trampled upon over and over so it was an icy, messy hazard.
Second, upon entering the restaurant it was very busy with a Happy Hour group who were very, very loud and then a violinist circulating the bar area with a neon lit violin. OK... that’s fine if you’re there for Happy Hour. If, however, you wanted a nice dinner, it was obnoxious. Why, they opened the dining room right by the bar is beyond me when a quiet area below to the right of the entrance was empty except for one lone woman in the accompaniment of her dog!
I for one, would not return. I expected to be at a restaurant not a local bar!

There cannot be a lovelier view from any other restaurant in East Hampton’s Historic Main Street District, than that from the enclosed porch of the Maidstone Hotel. This is one of the oldest inns and has been serving the public long before the artist Thomas Moran stayed here in the early 1880’s. It is totally up-to-date, it retains the charm that I associate with the best New England country inns. We stopped by for brunch on the first Saturday of 2020 and had a relaxing lunch looking out over the ever beautiful Town Pond with its collection of ducks. We could see the form of the ancient Gardiner Windmill in the foggy distance. After two cappuccinos our waiter brought my wife a light and fluffy omelet covered with fresh herbs, which she found delicious. My classic eggs Benedict was perfect and served with tender home fries with sautéed red peppers and onions. We lingered after brunch, not really wanting to leave our comfortable upholstered club chairs. We still felt a bit of the frantic pace of the past holiday week of partying. What a lovely way to spent a January afternoon in the Hamptons. We finally got up and strolled down Main Street to explore the new exhibition at Guild Hall.
We went for brunch New Year’s Day. Delicious. Servers were young. Nice but clueless w no answers to our questions. Bartender made a great Bloody Mary! Relaxing vibe but we went early. Friends went later and had horrible experience all around sadly. We will back however!

We went out to a leisurely brunch with friends. We were seated at a table where the music was very loud, but when we requested the wait staff turn it down, they were very responsive. As a result, we were able to have a long, leisurely, delicious, brunch is a very cool setting.
Terrible service...had to wait for over 45 minutes to get our salad and tuna melt. We were the only people in the dining room. And, had to get up to get the salt and pepper after I waited 10 minutes and they didn’t come. Food was ok.
Have eaten there in the past and everything was great.
Holiday joy spread wide with beautiful decor and a fireplace to add to the ambiance. Thoughtful menu with great prix fixe options.Service was attentive even on a very busy night. 2nd year that we spent Christmas eve here and not disappointed.
Lovely luncheon at The Maidstone. The restaurant was quiet and our server Alex was fantastic. The menu was well balanced. I was with two others and we each had a marvelous lunch - beautifully cooked and presented. What a treat!
Atmosphere is great, the food is acceptable but not great but the service is just so poor. The staff is very friendly but so disorganized and completely unsupervised. Everything takes so long and there’s not even an attempt to check on tables or pour wine - strictly self service. This has been our experience for the last three visits and I’m not sure we’d subject ourselves to this again. Very unfortunate as it’s a wonderful location which we’ve enjoyed for decades.
No waiter. Bar tender only one t as king orders and serving. He was terrific but this is a high end dining restaurant to not have a waitet
Our server, Sara Kay was outstanding.....not only in her skills, but she made our experience very personal, and did it with warm heart.
The atmosphere was very comfortable, and we were greeted with attention, they were fully engaged with making us comfortable.
Food had an excellent combination of spices and ingredients that certainly pleased us, very, very fresh. The chef as well obviously had every intention of making sure their "guests" were satisfied.
Beautiful Thanksgiving dinner

Maidstone was terrific. I had the Restaurant week 29.95 dinner (3 courses), and my wife a la carte. Soft shell crabs were delicious - and portion was large. My wife's veal chop was big enough to provide her dinner the next day. Serive attentive without being intrusive and ambience very comfy. It is a pleasure to go to a restaurant and be able to hear others in conversation. This was our second recent visit. the first was in august, during "season" and we were with another couple. Both dinners were good, and consistency is aq good thing for a restaurant.
I was disappointed in the Maidstone. Took friends there on a Saturday Night. It wasn't busy, yet we waited 15 minutes for drinks to be delivered. We ordered 4 appetizers, 3 were just ok. The special app was very good. We ordered something called scallops and seafood. The scallops were apparently crushed up in a consistency similar to dry mashed potatoes. The truffle pasta dish had a few bits of truffles. The double rack of lamb for $65 consisted of 4 fatty lamb chops. I will say the Duck was great. The manager didn't really care that we weren't happy with our meal.
I am sorry you had a bad experience. I did care about your dinner, first immediately taking away the scallops, replacing it with the pasta., then taking both off the check for you. I tried to accommodate you and would be happy to make sure you are happy and satisfied with every meal with us. I really do care about your experience.

We went during restaurant week and everything we had was absolutely delicious - flank steak, tomato bisque soup, maidstone salad, the Moroccan lentil stuffed eggplant with pot du creme for dessert. And of course the service and ambiance were impeccable.
