Mariner's Dinner Salad
A classic Supper Club salad
Service was slow despite reservations. Waiter was very slow. Others got food first who sat down after us. Overcharged for what we got. Food was hot and good.
Prefect diner with great service.Jim did a great job. Best service ever 👍
Jack and crew never disappoint
Fantastic as always!!!!
It was a wonderful meal and service was great
Have been going to Mariners for over 30 years. Remains a favorite.
I have enjoyed dining at The Mariners for many years, and to introduce the restaurant to a number of people, like last evening. The drinks, food, and service was again very good. A special applause for Doug our server...his knowledge, care, and efficiency were so appreciated.
My family has been coming to the Mariner's Inn for celebrations as long as I can remember. Births, deaths, graduations, babies ..... or just for comfort and good food. We love the atmosphere, the kind staff and the fantastic food.
It was okay. Seemed pricey for what you get food wise. The presentation was mediocre. The restaurant was like a fancy restaurant without the details that makes it one.
Always have great food. Steaks are always the way I order them. They are doing the best they can to accommodate you through this pandemic
Appetizers were good. Food was overpriced. Combo fish platter ($30) got us 4 jumbo shrimp and 2 teeeeeny pieces of walleye. Small cup of Extra sauce cost $2. Salmon Florentino was overcooked and undersauced- though the stuffing was tasty. Food took 45 minutes to get to us, and by then we needed to leave, got our food packaged to go, and didn't have time to address all the issues. Everything felt underwhelming and overpriced.
The Mariners’ Inn is always excellent! We went for fish fry and had to choose between lake perch, haddock, and Walleye; all 3 were wonderful. The generous-sized portions were lightly breaded, flavorful, flaky, and delicious. The Clam Chowder was top notch, and the hash browns are always a winner. Our server was wonderful as well, efficient, thorough, and Wisconsin-friendly. Mariners’ is our “go-to” for fish fry, and this past Friday night did not disappoint!
The Mariner’s Inn was excellent as always! We are never disappointed in Jack and the crew!!
Mariners Inn has the best fried shrimp, creamy clam chowder, and au gratin potatoes that we've ever had! The shrimp are very large, meaty, and tasty and the chowder is even better than the chowders in Boston. We love, love, love this restaurant!
We had a wonderful evening bringing established and some new friends from out of state that were dropping kids at the UW! Thank you to all the staff for accommodating a large party of 9 and serving our disorganized group with young adults and guests new to the Wisconsin traditions! Everyone raved about the food both steaks and shrimp were delicious. We were left to visit long after we should have wrapped up without feeling hounded or put out. Bravo for showing our guests what Wisconsin is all about! Mariners has become one of our go to restaurants, and will remain so. Thank you!
Last dinner here was over 20 years ago, came back to celebrate our 50th anniversary. Some things never change - superb!
Great food-nice waterfront dining! Would recommend!
Had to send food back. Medium steak was bloody red. Same thing with the table next to us. Got free dessert since it was our anniversary. Looked like it had been there since our last anniversary. So sad.
Great food at water's edge at marina. They gave us a nice table outdoors...will come again.
Food: Overall, the food was very good. Our party had ribeye, wonderful flavor and perfectly prepared; shrimp, large, fresh-tasting w a wonderful tempura-type coating; and a small walleye filet, "meh," rather tasteless. The potato au gratin is our favorite potato option--so good(!). The hash brown was greasy. The breads are very good and served warm. Cocktails are very good. Service: The bartender, who was wearing his facemask on his chin, was overwhelmed and too busy to serve us. Our table server was OK. Ambiance: We typically eat inside, which is a fun, old school nautical theme. We ate outside on plastic tables and chairs which felt more fitting for a very casual restaurant. Our water was served in plastic cups, which also seemed to be an odd fit. Although it was nice to sit outside, these details impacted the overall meal experience.
Grand old steak place still doing good ! Steak and shrimp are always a good choice
Great friendly service and the food was so delicious as always is! The window view is so wonderful, nice to see the Betty Lou come back in!
Great birthday meal! Able to talk & relax over a great meal!
Appetizer, entrée, and desert were excellent and arrived in good time. My wife and I will go again soon.
We waited in a crowded bar almost an hour beyond our reservation time for a table. Once seated it was another chunk of time before we saw a waiter. Drinks were slow in coming, with food arriving almost simultaneously.
Not for seafood. Nice views.
They serve drinks to your table and you show the waitress that in one drink there was a piece of paper mixed in the drink and the other drink had a 2 inch piece of hair in it.The response was sorry. Didn’t offer new drink .
Been many years since last visit. The decor didn't give us that feel we were looking for for our anniversary.
Lively experience with wonderful food!
Great service, Great Steaks. True old fashioned supper club!
The "Ragin'Cajun Walleye" entree was served at a tepid, not hot temperature and was costly at $35.99. The food itself tasted fine, and the walleye was a generous serving, but the Shrimp Creole sauce, also served at a tepid temperature, only had 2 small shrimp, and minimal Creole flavors.
Also, our very personable waitress, had lost her glasses and "could not see people's faces" or the bill, so there was quite a mix-up in our checks.
Mariner's Inn has always been one of my favorites, but this meal was not as good as previous ones. In retrospect, I should have ordered one of their steaks, since that is the house specialty.
Very Busy on the weekend and had music as well.
Be sure you plan the type of evening around evenets and activities on their scheduled.
Food was excellent but over priced. More expensive than a typical establishment for the class of food offered. It appears, you are paying for the location and the view (which is soso) in regards to what we saw. Appears to be more of a place to be seen by others. The sunset view was poor and blocked is to the behind the trees and not well suited for summer.
Our dinner for 3 ran $190 which includied 2 bar drinks and appetizer and 20% tip. There was plenty of food and the service was very good. The menu choices were excellent. The drinks was less the spectacular and attention to detail on an Old Fashion was not seen. All and all, they have a captive clientele there and the have escalated prices to capitalize on it.
Likely to not return and it appears they don't our business anyway. For fine dining in the future, we will go to a more fomal location that affords less family casual atmosphere.
Our waitress was very busy but she managed to get our drinks and food! We were also there for a great band so there were more people outside where we were. Our waitress looked a bit stressed but she did the job! Enjoyed the food and the evening.
Mariners is an outstanding place to go for a wonderful dinner and atmosphere. You are able to overlook the water and all the wonderful water craft. You have your choice of eating indoors or outdoors, with either one a great choice.
Enjoyed our first visit. Our waitress was a big help in suggesting menu choices. We loved the seafood stuffed mushroom appetizer, the salmon and steak were great too. Highly recommend. Make a reservation.
Wonderful food and the dude at the front desk is awesome.
Great perch fry but a little pricey. Beautiful breeze outside but the table and chairs on rocks wasn’t too comfortable. And people walking thru from the boat dock was a little odd. Should have a separate path but nice dining overall
Excellent food and service. Michelle was great - anticipated our needs and very attentive. Weather was perfect for our outdoor seating.
Excellent dinner in a lively setting with quality service!! Never disappoints!
Food was overpriced (paying to be by the water)......service was night of the living dead, zombie apocalypse
