The Rail Yard Tavern

So first off if I could leave a negative rating I would, ive been there a few times for uber pick up and so has my girlfriend and we considered going there because it seemed like a nice environment until today, she went in to pick up an order and was waiting patiently in a chair when a grumpy old man that handles the uber orders reaches over her and says get out of my chair with and attitude and proceeds to be very disrespectful and rude, never before have I seen such poor customer service and show such disrespect. I will be sure to spread the word to everyone I know to tell them not to go here or to order uber from here again. I will go out of my way to put a bad name out there for them because of the way she was treated. The man that handles the uber orders should be fired. Once again one of the worst experiences ever and I’ll be sure to never return and to tell everyone I know to never go there .

This is a great family friendly local spot for dinner.
The Owner and the staff are extremely professional, polite and knowledgeable especially with those who have Gluten Allergies.
They have a large selection of Gluten Free options and a separate menu.
This is our favorite family spot.
The kids love coming here.

What a nightmare. Waitress was unfamiliar with posted sale prices (on signs right outside the restaurant), refused to honor happy hour prices unless seated at the bar, rarely came back to the table to check on whether we needed anything and in fact had to be hunted down, and needed a crash course in manners and attitude. It will be a long time before I'd ever return there based on this experience.

My wife and I eat here often. The sliced steak sandwich is amazing - always cooked rare as we like it. It is one of the best around. The thin crust pizza is terrific. I also love the Thai chili calamari and the salads. Good drinks. Good value. Only negative is that even in the restaurant part it can get very noisy when crowded.

What a fantastic place! It's super clean and the staff was quick and so helpful. They have a huge appetizer list, we found fun! The pecan crusted chicken was great very moist and flavorful! We can't wait to go again!!!

Food is ordinary, wines by the glass not appealing. Decor better but no real reason to return.

Great food, well priced, very friendly staff. We went for a Sunday Brunch. There were 5 of us. All the standard breakfast food as well as good full menu. I'll be a repeat customer!

Good solid neighborhood tavern. We had jalopeno poppers, which were ok, and then sandwiches which were quite good. Good beer selection, but I had Bob's Manhattan (excellent).

The tavern was nice. Had a very busy bar scene. We went for dinner and while the food was alright, I would, next time, stick to some of the basics: burger, sandwich, that sort of thing. I had a steak and it at first tasted fine, but as it cooled I could tell the quality was not what I was after. Like I said, I'll stick to the basics next time, which I'm sure were just fine. May try some of the appetizers for dinner, since they looked really good. A good bang for the buck, though.

Great food, wonderful and friendly service, reasonable prices. It is what Fair Lawn has needed for many years! I've taken my family several times for dinner and have never been disappointed. You are immediately greeted by a friendly hostess and attentive service. The menu options are plentiful and all are delicious. I would definitely recommend!

We came to the restaurant to hear our friend, Pete McCullough, perform with his band and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious, the service from our waitress, Nichole, was excellent, and the band was fantastic! Our first time at The Rail Yard, but definitely not our last!

The restaurant and bar areas are clean and perfectly lit. The bar staff and wait staff are friendly and attentive, and avoid being overbearing. The patrons are fun and very social, creating an incredible energy. The food is amazing, the specials are on point, and the cheesecake is to die for. Definitely a good place to take a date; the vibe is conducive to a good time.

This restaurant has recently undergone renovations that we had hoped would improve the atmosphere and quality of food. While they have tried to update the atmosphere, it is still a bit cold and they seem stuck between wanting to be a restaurant and being a pizzeria. We were hoping for more given the convenient location and generally good service and warm welcome we received. Keep trying!

We waited for over 40 minutes for our order. The waitress continually apologized for the delay. Apparently, they had a large group which took precedence over all of the other diners. All we ordered were cold sandwiches and pasta. My daughter requested some vegetables on her pasta. We were charged $4.00 for a handful of broccoli and red pepper. The meal was only$12.00. So we were charged 1/3 of the price for the vegetables and the pasta was undercooked. We did not receive any complimentary beverages or dessert to make up for the delay in service. Very poor service and very average food.

Great GF options. Very nice workers and very accommodating. Everyone at our table of 7 (including 3 children) enjoyed their meals.

Everything was amazing!!! We were treated like family!! The owner Bob spent time with us and Kristen, our waitress, was the BEST!!! I cannot wait to go back!!!

I can't say enough about the dining experience here. Great location, friendly staff and amazing food. Great beer selection. The perfect place for a dinner with the family and to enjoy the late night bar scene. This will definitely be a "go to" spot from now on.

I picked The Rail Yard Tavern because it was close to home. For an appetizer we had Stromboli bread which was very good. We ordered the steak sandwich which came with French fries and we were told this is one of the items on the menu which The Rail Yard Tavern is noted for and it was very good. My wife and I had Long Island Ice Teas (2 each) which was just fantastic. The bill came to $80 which I thought was expensive for the atmosphere setting which we experienced. All in all the food was good and I will go back. I heard the pizza is excellent.

4 generations met for Father's Day Dinner. We all found something we would eat and enjoyed it all. The fried calamari was especially good and there is a nice selection of craft beers. Everyone there was warm and welcoming, eager to provide a good experience.

I am not one to try new places unless they have at least 15+ reviews on YELP and I read each of them however upon looking up The Rail Yard Tavern there was only ONE review and it wasn't anything for me to go on but we figured we would give it a try. My husband and I were celebrating our 15th anniversary so why not do something out of the ordinary. As soon as we walked in, the owner sat us in a semi-private corner table and brought us over champagne glasses and bottle of Verdi Spumante (on the house) and wished us a Happy Anniversary. The waitress was very sweet and never felt rushed at all. Their food was very good, my husband had their grilled salmon and he was in heaven! The restaurant was clean, roomy and comfortable. Def going back

After reading a few nice reviews online, checking out their food and beer menu, I decided this might be the spot for an early dinner on Mother's Day. After being greeted promptly as we entered, our table awaited and we were quickly seated. A very attentive and well informed waiter arrived to take our drink orders. I enjoy a good craft beer and he was able to give us a detailed description of the few beers we hadn't tried before. He quickly delivered same and took our food orders. We were delighted by the quality of the entrees, portions were ample, delivered hot from the kitchen. The ingredients were fresh and made to order. I couldn't believe this place was not packed. Moderate prices, great quality, great service - I'll be back.

Had a reservation for a party of 6 and requested a table away from the bar area. Upon arrival our table and request was awaiting us.
The waitress was very nice and the rest of the staff was efficient in bringing out our orders. We had an issue with one of the chicken dishes but was asked if we wanted it cooked agin or order another meal. We ordered another meal. Overall our dining experience was good.

I had some time to kill between appointments in the Fair lawn area, and found this place on Open Table. The service was very good, the large TV tuned to ESPN was mercifully off on the Wednesday night I was there, substituted by nice background jazzy music. I had the house pino grigio which was very good, and ordered the individual sized veggie pizza -- and it was fabulous! Thin crust, loaded with veggies and fresh mozzarella, delicious and just the right amount for my supper. It really was one of the best pizzas I have ever had!

What a great new place to dine! Plenty of options that were all delicious and service was wonderful. Will definitely go back!

My second visit to the Rail Yarn and I am total satisfied. Food is great, friendly service, and good price. Nice beer selection + a full bar.

A group of seven of us decided to venture out on a Saturday night, and were surprised to find a place able to accommodate us on short notice. It was a little tough to find, but we were seated right away, and served fairly quickly. The food was good - we all ordered either burgers (decent, but not mind-blowing) or calzones (very tasty and completely stuffed full!) Service was a little patchy - I didn't have utensils or a napkin when I sat down, and had to wait until after we polished off our appetisers before they appeared. Our waiter was hard to track down, but did eventually bring us anything we asked for.
The food was good enough, but for seven people to eat (pre-tip) for less than $100, we were very happy with the choice.

Worth waiting for! After being closed for years, the Trackside is back and it is bigger and better. Reconstruction is evident and restaurant is homey and comfortable. Large tv's in numerous places for the sports minded diner. Best pizza ever and upscale meals are great. My husband loved the sliced steak sandwich and our college aged son loved the pasta. Extensive wine and bar list make this truly a dining experience.

Very nice staff. Excellent food, in both quality and portions. The owner greeted us when we walked in and came up to us as we were leaving to make sure we enjoyed ourselves.

2/8 - New Place was not crowded, so for them I hope business picks up. The food was good and prices are fair, place is clean! Bartender needs a lesson in pouring a Guinness. let alone a proper one. The 2 I ordered with dinner were short a total of a 1/2 pint. I told the owner /manager and he told me the Diageo rep has not come yet to show them how to pour a proper Guinness.They also ran out of cranberry juice and had to send out for it so my wife and sister in law had to wait an extra 5 min. HOWEVER, Any Bartender knows your supposed to serve a full pint and should have topped it off. I will go back and give it a 2nd try. lets see how it looks at the end of the summer... I could see myself there a lot. So I would like them to succeed ..

We had a great meal at The Railyard Tavern. Everything was fresh and extremely tasty. The atmosphere was warm & friendly and the service was fantastic. The cocktails were delicious too! We will be back!
