great menu. best in region. great staff. my wife spilled her cocktail twice & they refilled without charging. no questions asked.

The staff seated us at a horribly small table in the middle of the restaurant, we asked to be moved, they did to a larger table one away. Not great, that supposedly had a 4 top reserved, those people arrived as we were leaving.

The restaurant was loud but with the high ceilings, as most restaurants are today, it was expected. Our waitress was excellent and saw to all of our needs, even the strangest of them. lol

The food was good. So we have the octopus as our appetizer and it was excellent, the octopus was charged well but not over done, just enough to get the char marks, it was extremely tender and the romesco was nice and just spiced; the fregola, marcona almond, and pickled raisins was an excellent compliment to the dish.

My companion had the Lamb, she asked for it rare with the inside just warm. It arrived and the lamb was cold on the inside so she asked for it to be refired, to her specifications. The second time it was done to her liking; however, her lamb was served with hummus which made no sense at all; castelvetrano olive tapenade ditto; spinach which was cooked and processed to a reduction and was not good at all and a veal reduction which was tolerable. Oh well for the lamb dish.

I ordered the Filet, medium rare and it came out medium rare with an excellent crust on the outside. The steak was very good. It was served with potatoes au gratin and sauce béarnaise, the potatoes were sublime and I feel the highlight of my meal, the p béarnaise was very good. I also order the Seasonal Mushrooms, which lacked a bit of seasoning and were very oily but they good.

I would return to The Tasting Room for another meal.

Sangria delicious....poached eggs on crabcake and lobster omelet were amazing.

The food was good as usual. 4 stars due to the size of the crab cake entree. This was our first time ordering it and unfortunately we were disappointed with the size for the price (more like tasting size) . Our waiter Jason was great!

I owe Open Table a huge debt of gratitude because I had never heard of The Tasting Room until they sent me an email about restaurants that had started using their service. I don't know how I missed them. We live in upper Montgomery, not Frederick, county, but I'm usually pretty knowledgeable about the restaurants there.

We had a superior meal there on Friday. Knowing I couldn't eat my dinner if I had an appetizer, I went without, but my husband got an excellent lobster chowder which put most lobster bisques to shame. I got a very good rack of lamb, but the star of the evening was definitely the crab cakes. Now, I was born and raised in Baltimore where we are very picky about our state dish, but my husband is a DC native, and he'll order crab cakes almost anywhere. (shudder) However, I hereby testify that the crab cakes at the Tasting Room are some of the best I've ever had, and probably the best I've had in many years. They weren't huge, mind you, but the two cakes were easily sufficient with the side dishes to satisfy my husband's large appetite. They were sweet, full of large chunks of backfin crab meat, and, whatever they use for filler was unnoticeable in both the taste and texture. We will definitely go back and, even with the limits for quarantining, we will not be going alone.

All vegetables were cold.
For the price, we hoped food portions were larger.

The hostess was not very friendly the waitress was excellent the door says they open at eleven but they will not let you in until 11:30 the food is expensive but not outstanding the crab dip is good but the bread served with it is too hard French toast was ok main dishes took a little while overall I wouldn’t go back the parking is a headache you have to pay and walk a bit will try another place for the price

This restaurant is clean and the staff is very hospitable. The food is excellent every time we visit! On this occasion we learned the owner is a sommelier, the drinks are magnificent! We were celebrating our 11th yr anniversary, the staff provided complementary drinks (antique prosecco). I'm not a prosecco girl but after that experience, I am. You won't be disappointed this place is a gem.

What can i say, there is nothing there that is less then fabulous!!! Another delicious meal!

We made a reservation. The restaurant called to confirm that day around noon. We get to the restaurant and are seated. We gave our name and stated we had a reservation. 30 minutes later the restaurant called my cell phone asking where we were! I said seated in the restaurant. They did not apologise until I walked up front to talk with them. On the positive side wine flights were 3 ounce pours of 3 wines and the prime rib was excellent. Our server was top notch.

Great experience all around

The online menu was outdated. I chose this restaurant specifically for the menu that’s was advertised on open table. The high top stools are very uncomfortable.

Another amazing meal and service. Was able to get wine recommendations from the owner who took the time to explain how the wines we ordered would compliment our entrees. Half price Wednesday allows you to try some premium wines at an attractive price point. This restaurant never disappoints, top shelf!

The service was prompt and attentive, the cocktails were all delicious, and every menu item we ordered came out excellent. Absolutely recommend this restaurant, and you can't go wrong by choosing anything on the menu.

Went for brunch for the first time. Thoroughly enjoyed the Chesapeake Benedict! Thought our server was attentive to our table.

Wine list was excellent. My wife had filet which was great. I had cod that was served lukewarm. Service was just ok. Hear great things about this restaurant - so I was disappointed. I have had much better dining experiences next door at Firestone.

We come each year for our anniversary (tenth time?) and it has always been wonderful.

We enjoyed a lovely Saturday afternoon sitting outside and eating lunch at the Tasting Room recently. The food was delicious - the three of us shared 3 appetizers, tried the wonderful craft cocktails, and shared a couple of salads. The waiter was attentive, careful, efficient, and great. It was such a nice time, and as usual, we had a great time dining at The Tasting Room.

There were no specials, the menu had more than enough on it. Food was fantastic: Berkshire pork chop with a side of potatoes au gratin, veal ossobuco with a side of lobster whipped potatoes, 2 side salads (Caesar), and a bottle of Pinot noir.
Ambiance was superb. Service very attentive and courteous.

My wife and I celebrated our 17 year anniversary at The Tasting Room on recommendation from friends. Boy did they hit it out the park! Great location! Great ambiance! Great food! Gave us complimentary glasses of champagne...5 star all the way! My wife is an awesome cook so she knows her food. She was impressed. Will definitely visit again.

This restaurant was a home run. Steak, crabcakes and Short rib Bolognese were delicious. Great wine list. Dinner comes with a salad too. Service was great too, nice pace.

The Tasting Room is our place to go for our anniversary and it never disappoints. Food was amazing, and I love my blood orange martinis.

3rd time’s the charm - It was our best experience there! Happy to see and hear some of the old Volt staff now work here, and the restaurant seems to be all the better for it! Stan is super accommodating, responsive, knowledgeable, and is so patient with his customers! The entire staff and our waitress were professionally friendly. We couldn’t stop eating the bread, it was so fresh! The Filet was fantastically delicious! The house made noodle was perfect! Must admit, both dishes were slightly on the saltier side; but nonetheless very yummy! The drinks were delicious and they took care of the one that didn’t sit well. I can’t wait to try timer mocktails one day! Thank you for the wonderful experience, and loved the birthday sorbet!

Currently the best service I've experienced in Frederick. The food has always been very good. The sauce with the mushroom ravioli was incredible! With there'd been more lobster in the omelet but the Lobster chowder made up for it. Poached eggs with crab was spectacular. Good desserts and Friendly wine list, too!

Such a great experience! The atmosphere at the tasting room is so relaxing. The service, food, and drinks are great! The lobster chowder is a must have!
