The White Hart South Harting
Warm welcome and great food. Would definitely recommend.
Really nice meal to celebrate our anniversary - thanks to the White Hart team!
Charming inn with friendly and helpful staff. Well set up for sound Covid protection. Food was excellent.
The food was good, but the service was poor.
After being seated for half an hour, we had to ask for menus. We also had to request dessert menus even though the restaurant was emptying by then. The staff were around, but not looking to see whether anyone needed anything.
Considering the Covid restrictions, compared with other places we have eaten, the tables seemed very close together.
Definitely one for a visit. The burgers are amazing and so is the halibut. Staff are very accommodating and friendly.
Excellent as always!!
Great food and very helpful pleasant staff..............
Excellent Sunday lunch, warm and welcoming service.
First time here and visited for Sunday lunch. On arrival the log burner was on which gave the pub a real cosy feel. Had the roast beef and banoffee pudding, both were delicious. Wine was also great and we received excellent service. Would return!
Really great food and service. The perfect country pub!
Delicious lunch we just went for starters as there was no sandwich menu but the chicken and ham hock terrine was delicious ! Good friendly service as always
Friendly staff, beautiful decor, amazing menu and tasty food. Everything we look for in a nice pub dinner. Was really impressed!
Friendly staff, good food and relaxing environment. Result!
Very pleasant and comfortable, lovely food and wine!
Was looking for a Sussex / Hampshire pub, to replace what would have been a City lunch, and this did the job at a quarter of the cost!
Lovely old inn full of character, with a mouth-watering menu. We had a great dinner, with a dish recommended by the waitress and it was cooked perfectly.
The best roast! Dogs welcome and a fire place....after a walk it’s the perfect Sunday!
We enjoyed the excellent service and the Sunday Lunch was tasty and beautifully cooked. It will be our local from now on.
We met up with some friends for a meal together for the first time in over 32 years, and we had recommended The White Hart to them. Our friends were disappointed in the fact that the menu they had seen the day before on The White Hart's website did not tally with that offered on the day. In addition, the Loin of Pork On The Bone, which had previously been offered as one of the roasts for a Sunday lunch, had been replaced by Belly Of Pork. Not a slab, but thin, greasy, fatty slices which were not good at all. Not what you expect from a Sunday Roast menu. The restaurant was busy, although some people did not wear masks whilst moving around the restaurant, and the noise level was acceptable despite children being present on the next table. Hopefully, it will be better next time.
We enjoyed a lovely meal here on Saturday as we were staying at the pub. The food was great and the service provided by Chloe was faultless.
Looking forward to returning.
A very nice welcome table ready and service was very good and fast. We love our village pub and hope in these very hard times they keep going.
Lovely old pub full of character and roaring log fires! Service was great, food delicious and although not busy when we were there it still felt quite cozy and atmospheric. Would definitely visit again.
We had a very nice lunch at the White Hart and would definitely visit again.
Steak burnt & had to send back
We were shown straight to our table, and given the menus. Unfortunately, they were still using the 'old' menus although the website had a much better menu which, we were told, was starting "next week". We chose the Half-Chicken as our main course, only to be told upon ordering that there was no Chicken left. We then had to go for the more expensive option of a Sirloin Steak. However, the food we had was very good (although the chef forgot the grilled tomatoes until I was halfway through my main course). Having eaten there before, we saw this as an unfortunate 'blip' and are already looking forward to our next visit in two days' time. Well worth the visit.
Excellent food. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Good value for money. Nice traditional pub. Quite hard to beat!
Lovely character pub. Tasty Sunday Roast and Crafty Brewing Co ales.
Our first pub visit since February and the team at The White Hart made the whole experience seamless with the new restrictions. Food and service were excellent, highly recommended!
Had a fantastic lunch..... Great pub in a lovely village
Lovely country pub. Quite quiet on a Thursday lunchtime but pleasant service and excellent burgers.
Not a huge choice on the menu but my partner and me both found something we liked. My partner is vegan and he had a plant burger. We had a good evening.
Lovely atmosphere. Superb food. Friendly and helpful staff.
Highly recommend eating here. The food is perfect and the staff all friendly and very attentive. Felt Covid safe and will go back soon!
Our starter of prawn and avocado was not nice. The prawns had no flavour and were presented on a brown squidge of avocado. My sister ordered pollo piccante, the chicken did not have any piccante on it at all. When the waitress asked "how is your food" we asked if the chef understood the word piccante? We were surprised that the staff did not respond to our negative comments.
Very nice and cozy place with lovely music. The food was not interesting at all. The Pie was empty, The gravy was tasteless, the the Yorkshire pudding was very oily. The parsnip soup was nice and so was the crumble. Overall the food needs to improve to match the nice ambiance of the place.
I had to get up twice to get missing items like sugar for the tea and spoon for the soup. also I gave back my beef to be cooked as it came rare.
Nice building, pleasant atmosphere, good service, good food
Initially disappointed by the tiny car park, but once inside things improved. It was clearly very well managed by the friendly manager (owner?). All the staff were wearing masks, there was a one way system and the tables were spread apart. The food was very nice and we enjoyed a bottle of champagne for £35, which is not bad these days. Highly recommended.
Would have been helpful to know when booking the table that due to the White Hart's policy our 20-year-olds needed under 25 years of age ID. We enjoyed our alcoholic drinks whilst they drank lemonade. Disappointing.
Friendly welcome. Clean and Covid secure. Fairly good choice on menu. Good value
good meal enjoyed in their very pleasant garden. Will come again!
