The White Swan Twickenham

We'd planned a pre-Christmas outing here, but when the next 'lockdown' was announced for London, we switched it a week earlier, and very happy we did.
Our favourite table, in the window - excellent for watching the pouring rain and a high tide coming in.
Very diligent Covid precautions in place. Staff are always welcoming and helpful. Food was great - the starters outshone the mains, really; a roasted cauliflower soup, packed with flavour, and chilli prawns succulent and spicy. Turkey breasts with 'trimmings' were good, though a bit mad on the red cabbage - no matter, as we were on the second bottle of red by then. It was our 'office outing' after all, for just the two of us.
We love this pub, and we'll be back as soon as we're allowed out again.

Excellent service with friendly staff, beautiful location, generous portions and fab food. Always love dining at the White Swan.

Poor Service . Do not honour bookings. Let down when arrived at venue . Don’t take the risk !

During these trying times the white swan did a great job of making your evening feel a little bit normal.

Great meal in a fantastic location!

Had a guy bark at us because we asked to move our booked table from inside to outside of which there was plenty of room and spare tables to be told we had wasted a booking - it was 2.30pm on a Mobday lunch, not true!

This chaps first interaction had a negative impact on our celebratory meal - the chap dressed all in green needs to work on his customer service skills!

Great variety of good value, delicious food in a pub with great vibes

nice to be able to sit outside in a busy but well spaced area down by the river, good food and very attentive service. Good selection of drinks - and reasonably priced all round. Inside it was also comfortable and inviting. It was a good call.

A bit of a chill night (for late August).
The tide was up - which meant that the riverside seating was under water, but we had a prime table in the window booked, so no problems there.

The music was at just the right level - quiet enough to be heard, but not enough to drown out conversation.

I had the mahi mahi on a bed of beans, and my partner had the halloumibuger. Both very successful

We were able to sit next to the river which is a great view.

One of the great locations, and nice staff but they are not very good at their jobs (especially the chef). Needs a rethink.

The staff were very helpful and accomodating especially during these difficult times. We had a great luchtime meal.

Great location, wonderful service and much better than average food

Food was really below average, the 'vegan naked burrito' was disappointing with salsa that was straight from a dorritos dip pot, and uncle bens microwave rice. The place was packed, I think they were just too busy to cope in the kitchen so made short cuts.

Lovely food - service a bit off, had to ask for a pitcher of water 3 times as an example. Difficult to get the servers attention at times - too busy cleaning tables instead of seeing to diners. The food is very good but the service detracts from that unfortunately. I'd recommend drinks only as its a lovely setting on the river. I got the impression that serving food and drinks was perhaps a little overwhelming for the team running the place.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was great and a nice selection of choice. Would definitely return.

Arrived slightly early and manged to get a table outside. Spent an enjoyable after noon in the sun with good food, beer and very friendly happy staff providing a very good service.

Wonderful venue, excellent service, good care with hand sanitizer etc but food very disappointing and overpriced. Pity as everything else is great

Booked weeks in advance only to be told when we arrived that we couldn’t sit outside as that was ‘first come first served’. Instead we were put in a dingy, sticky-tabled back room.
If you have a pub, whose key selling point is its outside seating & view of the river, why are people who booked weeks in advance to enjoy its key selling point told they can’t sit outside and have to sit in a dark room at the back of the pub whilst those who have just turned up on the day get to enjoy the outside tables? Unfortunately no one at the pub could give us a sensible answer, so we left and went elsewhere.

Perfect place for lunch. We arrived early and got a table on the terrace. We had booked a table inside in advance, but the very helpful waitress changed our booking so we could eat outside.
The meal was perfect, the location was perfect and the service was brilliant.
Would definately visit again

Great place, on the river on a sunny day its decent. Good Fish and Chips too!

Waited half an hour for drinks to arrive When we ordered the waitress did not write down the food, so inevitable came beach 10 mins later to ask us what we had ordered and this time wrote it down. We had a tiny table in a small gap enough for two (we were three) and even though there were tables around not occupied we could not move. (Not social distancing issue /there were screens between them.) We were told that tables in the river garden are only for people who have not booked! The waitresses were clearly rushed off their feet even tho the pub was only half full. Disappointing.

So good to be back! Lovely setting on the river. Food is decent and ambience still good despite social distancing!!!

First dining out since lockdown and we were not disappointed.
Staff were attentive, they were well rehearsed in the new distanced approach so we felt safe.
Food arrived quickly and was to the usual high standard and exceptionally good value.
Love this pub and so very pleased it’s back open.

Menu was much better than we thought it might be post-COVID. Good focus on hygiene. Even had good weather, well organised!

booked a table for 6 pm dinner for 6 people. We got there early, had our drinks outside and were presented with menus, but unfortunately when we were ready to order, we were told the kitchen was closed. Quite disappointed and had to find dinner elsewhere!

The white swan is always great. A great drinking pub in a beautiful location and the mustard and hiney chippolatas are amazing !

Beautiful, traditional interior and fantastic outside area in the summer. The best pub in Twickenham without a doubt.

Excellent food

The pub has had a bit of smartening up recently but retains its quirkiness and individuality.
Wonderful location even on a cold winters day.

Another delicious meal at our favourite Thameside pub. Great food, beer and wine, served by friendly staff. If only all pubs were half as good as this one.

In my opinion, the finest pub in London. Friendly, full of character and in a charming setting.
