excellent place for a nice meal with friends or family
This was a very nice dining experience. The fritti was great and so was the lamb shank. The pasta and salads were very good.
Very nice and relaxing too!
Great food and service. This my new go to Italian place
Nice place some food served was tasty but my ravioli had liquid in it. Flavor ok.service very good and location walking distance.
Delicious food and excellent service. I would definately go back next time we are in San Deigo!
Great spot for lunch. The food is delicious and the service is always great.
NYE dinner. Initial feeing was they maybe weren’t prepared for such a busy dinner schedule. A little unorganized and the staff was very overwhelmed. They had a special pre-fix menu. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and fettuccini Alfredo and the bruschetta appetizer and everything came out quickly and hot. The food was delicious and NYE Prosecco was yummy too! Our waiter was nice and as attentive as he could be under the busy circumstances. Would return just maybe on not so busy of a night. We enjoyed our dinner just felt bad for the staff that evening.
Hoping they got to rest and have a nice New Years Day off!
Will be back in 2020 :)
Took out of town guests there this past Friday evening for dinner. Everybody was surprised and delighted by how delicious our meals were and the service was spot on - there when we needed something, but not hanging over the table. The braised lamb shank and the butternut squash ravioli were beyond outstanding!
Very good classic Italian food with excellent service.
The staff is always very nice and super helpful. My husband drank a lot of water and they were constantly coming back to top off his glass before it went empty! The food is also very good! We tried a prosciutto, mozzarella dog jam appetizer and it was amazing! I can’t remember the name of it. I also had the lasagna which was also very good. We then topped off the night with some yummy tiramisu!
Great food, bread basket and dipping oils were excellent,
Pasta sauce was rich and pasta was nicely coated,
My entree was delicious, as expected but rhe high quality of the
accompanying spaghetti was a very welcome surprise.
Very low noise level, great for conversation.
My first visit- we’ll be going back.
Very comfortable atmosphere, they are very accommodating and prepared requested dishes not on the menu. Service was excellent, the food was wonderful, the lasagne is to die for. We will go again.
We wouldn't keep going there if we weren't completely satisfied. It's the best ever Italian food and service is superb.
Amazing please the Best..!!!
Totally high recommend 👌🏻
Tiramisu Trattoria is a gem of a place. I had five of my friends come down to San Diego from LA, and I wanted to treat them out to somewhere nice. When I looked up top restaurants in La Mesa, Tiramisu Trattoria popped up and I knew it was going to be good. What I didn't know was how good it would really be. The service was excellent. The server (forgot his name but he has an Italian accent) bonded with us and was very very polite. The food was exceptional. Probably the best margarita pizza and spinach ravioli I ever had. Just as I thought the night couldn't get any better, we order Tiramisu. My favorite dessert is Tiramisu, and I have had it at many high-in restaurants; however, Tiramisu Trattoria's beat them all. It was very delicious. I will definitely go back and will recommend this place to anyone!
Btw, I am Vegetarian and just want to state that there are a lot of options available.
I really love this place! It was my first time here and it exceeded my expectations. Overall it was just excellent. And I definitely will come back. It’s hard to find good Italian food but this was really good. The pumpkin ravioli was outstanding. And the egg plant Parmaggiana was equally awesome. Lemon Tiramisu was so light and flavorful. I loved it. The satellite TVs showing Italian TV was OK but it was a little bit distracting for my taste. And the spaghetti was overcooked (but just about every place in America over cooks it). It really should be served al dente. Overall thumbs up!
We arrived at 6 just as Octoberfest was ending. The power had gone out over the weekend due to the onslaught of power for the event. And yet our server was gracious and knowledgable even under the challenging circumstances. It was our first time at the restaurant. Our server's recommendations for wine and food were outstanding. And our food was delicious. We will definitely go back!
Everything was great. Service, food. Seating. We’ll be back!
This restaurant is in the La Mesa downtown area. Although I've been in this area before, it was my first time here. I enjoyed my cioppino. There was plenty of seafood in my dish that I ended taking my leftovers home. My husband loved his bolognese and my son had the fettuccine alfredo. We all enjoyed our dishes and will definitely return.
Delicious Cobb salad with bread and dipping oil. Great service.
Food was authentic and tasty; but service is where they excel - the staff were all smiles and very attentive. Miguel, our server, took excellent care of us !!!!
The most delicious Cobb salad. It was visually appealing too and served with bread and dipping oil. Wonderful!
We love eating here. Every item we have tried has been just fabulous and loaded with flavor. The service is excellent even when busy. It can get a bit noisy inside during peak times, but the tables outside are normally a bit more quiet. The wine list is very good. We have tried several off the list and have never been disappointed. Excellent restaurant with awesome Italian cuisine.
As always, food was delicious. Several large lunch parties were there and it was a bit noisy, but OK.
Our go-to restaurant for authentic Italian bolognese!
I have dined at Tiramisu Trattoria three times since the beginning of this year. Each time has been consistently outstanding. Delicious food with excellent service! Highly recommend.
Great food and great service. Always a good experience.
Lasagna lacked some flavor, but the other menu options look tempting. I liked the breadbasket and olive oil/balsamic provided to the table. Ambience was nice. Service excellent.
Nice little Italian restaurant. Staff was very friendly. Food was great!!!
Lovely, one of our favorite places. Good food, good service.
Exceptional food quality with outstanding service. Invited a few friends and they were just as impresses and plan to return.
Love this place. It’s a wonderful casual gem in La Mesa village. We love that the 3 course meals are shareable. The chicken Marsala is excellent. Pasta dishes are excellent. The hard working staff is friendly and always ready to fill your glass or offer a suggestion.
Waiter Nicholas was what made the experience outstanding.
Our waiter was excellent and the meal delicious
I did NOT like the fact that even though this is on Open Table I was not given my 100 points for dining. I think that stinks!!!!
Best Italian food ever! Always freshly prepared -- important!
Tiramisu has changed a bit over the years, but they remain a great spot in La Mesa. The focus has slowly changed to becoming more casual, but the food and wine remain as good as ever.
There are some creative touches to the menu. They always have a page of specials which are usually very interesting. They offer some good appetizers, lots of salads, and many pasta dishes. They have pizza, which we tried for the first time. Good job, nice crust and quality toppings. There are also several main dishes which include fish, chicken, veal, and beef.
They also have a good dessert menu with plenty of Tiramisu variations. We've tried several over the years, and they are all good.
Probably the best thing about Tiramisu is their wine list. They have a great selection of value Italian wines, representing many of Italy's regions. They include Piemonte, Veneto, Umbria, and of course Toscana among others. The bottles are inexpensive and the wine is very good quality. You can do very well in the $30-50 range, where at many other restaurants that would get you a mediocre bottle. We spent $33 this time and got a 2013 Rosso which was superb.
Service was good. Water was topped off in glasses, and the server usually poured the wine. Wait times were very reasonable between courses - not too fast and not too slow.
If you are looking for casual Italian food that is not from a chain, you owe it to yourself to check out Tiramisu. If you are a wine snob like me, you will be very happy with their menu. Good food and friendly service!
Nice variety of selection and very tasty. I will go back and take visiting family.
Our meal was excellent as usual. A quiet charming environment, always excellent service, prompt without being obtrusive and purely superb food!
We found this restaurant by its great reviews on Yelp. Friendly staff, great food, relaxed ambiance.
