My wife ordered a chicken salad last night. Unfortunately the chicken was like rubber. I tasted it myself. We told our waiter and he said he would tell the kitchen. The manager came to the table and asked how everything was and we told him about the rubber chicken and he asked if we told our server. We said yes but when he brought the check there was no consideration for the unedible meal. I really didn’t want to cause a scene so we paid the check and left.
I would not recommend this Tommy Bahama’s to anyone!
Went for a motorcycle ride and decided to have lunch here with my wife. We were seated fast as I made a reservation before we left on our ride. Didn't take long to decide what to eat. We started with a Crazy Cuban drink which was really good and strong, the coconut shrimp and plantains. As for the main dishes I had the Rib eye steak and my wife had the Macadamia nut crusted Snapper. Both dishes were excellent. I cant wait to go back and would recommend this place to anyone. Just great food and great service.
Great filet mignon salad, mahi mahi fish tacos!
It was a quiet night so not many patrons in the restaurant., and food was served promptly. Overall food was good and I had a great glass of wine for half off!
Birthday... food was good, service very slow
The food was overly salty. Our friend sent back their burger. Our poke and mahi bowls were very small. The flatbread was fine. Our server did not check on us unless we flagged him down. Over all I would not return. I remember the portions being larger. Now that the winter season is coming maybe they had to change to accommodate profit loss. My husband usually can get full from their bowl but this time he ordered two and they were both tiny. He got ahi tacos and the scallop sliders as well but I would not recommend this place if you have a large appetite and are healthy minded when it comes to too much salt and grease. Better to come for a drink and enjoy the live guitar player.
The food and drinks were good but I was expecting Laguna to have outside seating being that it’s off PCH and the beach. Only inside seating and not really any good views unfortunately.
Service and food was great. Loved there was live music. We would definitely love to return and will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Food was excellent. The coconut shrimp are amazing! Great cocktail selection. Entrees were great too... they accidentally overlooked my steak but the service was friendly and they immediately fixed it for no charge.
Was very disappointed with our reservation. First of all we mentioned that we wanted to visit the Newport Beach location but it was closed. At the old location it states that if we told the Laguna location that we wanted to visit the Newport location we would receive a free appetizer. The waiter didn’t know about it. Secondly the Laguna location was out of diet soda, rice and cream brulle. Then the service was terrible. It took two of us over 2 plus hours to eat. It took us 20 minutes alone to get our dessert which was a piece of cake. Overall the food was good but we had to settle for secondary choices.
They were out of filet of beef.
Went here because our fav Tommy Bahama in Newport Beach was closed for renovations. Never returning here. The restaurant is adjacent and open to the store so the heavily perfumed scent of multiple candles is overpowering and totally inappropriate for dining. I must be gluten-free and always order the filet mignon salad. My husband ordered the same and when it arrived I was shocked. It was cheap, fatty, inedible rib-eye. When we questioned the server he admitted they were out of filet and "substituting". We called over the manager and questioned him. I cannot imagine how they thought this was okay! It was horrible and they were going to try and pass that off AND charge us for filet. They "comped" the mains but all we consumed was our wine. A most disappointing and deceptive dining experience.
Manager Jimmy and our server, Lindsay were both fantastic. The food was great and the ambiance was very nice. A wonderful evening. Thank you.
The bar may have run out of Booker's bourbon, but at least they have it!
The food and service were excellent. I wish I could have also had the crab bisque that is on other Tommy Bahama restaurant locations, but I would still return to the Laguna Beach location, anyway.
Not a good dining experience — more of a loud bar experience. Forget any conversation at your table.
Excellent service excellent location food was outstanding and service was outstanding
The food was good, but worst service I’ve ever had. It took our server 20 mins to bring us water and 4 different people served us. The busser did most of our server’s work. We finished eating and the busser boxed our food and it still took our server 20 minutes to bring the check. When she did she didn’t ask if we wanted dessert and we had to remind her we were celebrating a birthday. We had gotten there at 8 and by then it was 945 so the kitchen was basically closed so they brought us the leftover dessert from the night. We watched our server talk to her friends and basically do nothing all night. The 2 times she asked if everything was alright it was, but only because everyone else had done her job. I am honestly not sure how she got hired. I am a server as well so I know how these things work. I didn’t want to tip her, but wanted to make sure the busser got paid for the work he did. I’m sorry that Tommy Bahamas will get a lower review because of the incompetence of this server.
The sweet plantains are amazing! The sauce they serve with them is SO good. I also loved the chocolate pie.
It was our Anniversary and it was perfect !!!!
We had a wonderful lunch at Tommy Bahama's in Laguna. The service was excellent and they paid attention to small changes in what we ordered. Highly recommended!
Always enjoy your dining incentives. The music was good, but a little to loud to converse with other patrons shouting over it.
Great location, lots of shops in the area and a beach right across the street. The food and decor were very well done.
In all fairness we thought we were going to the restaurant but realized that Laguna Beach only has the bar. We were disappoint since the menu selection is very different. The food was ok but the service was slow. It wasn’t too busy so I’m not sure if they were understaffed or if it was just poor service
Celebrated a birthday! It was lovely! Food yummy! Jackson our server was prompt and responsive. The singer let my friends daughter sign happy birthday to her momma and Jackson kept child in paper umbrellas, a great night!!
Unlike the Fashion Island TB This one is not comfortable seating, very very loud, with louder music over the voices shouting to be heard, has no soup. Was out of both the only fish , hamburgers was ok. Crab salad was good.
Best course was dessert.
The coconut shrimp is heaven. Had such a lovely time here celebrating my anniversary with my boyfriend. Great service and food all around!
Food was very good, service was above average.
Asked if they could turn down the music, but they said no. The live music is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too loud to have a conversation. Unless they turn it down, I won't return.
I have only written about 2 other HORRIBLE experiences in all of my years of dining out - this is now my 3rd! This restaurant is NOT properly staffed - over 1 hour 45 minutes for 4 appitizers and 3 drinks (I would've had a drink, but they were out of Sculpin beer which is on the menu, but I was told by the server they were out of this - their only job is to stock food and beverage - they couldn't even get this right! In addition, it was NOT very busy on a Wednesday night - no excuses.
I like their clothes, but will never dine in any of their restaurants again - if you want to get kicked in the head for a whole bunch of money, go there....if not, there are plenty of other really good options where the managers know how to properly staff a restaurant and servers know how to serve.
To be fair, I've dined at Tommy Bahamas before, and enjoyed it. This time we went for dinner on Christmas Eve. They were out of many items on the menu and the service was poor. We left very disappointed.
The food was terrible. We both had ribeye - both were so fatty they were not edible. There were no rolls like they have in the Newport Beach location. In fact - no bread at all. No side salads at all on the menu. Very disappointing. This location is strictly a burger and fries spot for families.
The manager did apologize and picked up our dinner but we still spent $60 on 3 drinks and tip.
Great location, nice varried menu, but the live entertainment is too loud.
good date spot
Not what you would picture from the name. But a quant place to eat. Try prime rib sandwich...delious.
Good food - good quality - a bit on the pricey side I think for amount of food you get. Good ambiance - and they often have a guitarist who is always good.
My wife and I went to the cafe for a Saturday night date night. When we walked in, there was live music that had a very nice cafe vibe, and we were seated right away. All the popular Tommy Bahama favorites were on the menu. We started with coconut shrimp. for dinner, I had the macadamia crusted red snapper and my wife had a salad. Both items were very good and came to us quickly. After dinner, we shared a key lime pie (very generous slice).
We were very happy to fine this place and look forward to eating there again.
Food was delicious. Got there 40 minutes early and sat st the bar and waited. When it was time for our table they said they didn’t even have a reservation even thought 40 minutes earlier they did! It was a bit of a mix up but we finally got seated. Our server was slow. Don’t think we will be going back. But if you do decide to go try the grilled lobster cheese sandwich. Big enough to split.
We have been fans of this restaurant for years, but we can no longer recommend it. The service has degraded to the point that it is unpleasant. We ate there Saturday night on our way to a play at Laguna Playhouse. We got there at the time of our reservation and were seated promptly. Then we sat and sat and watched as others were giving up and leaving. Finally the manager came and took out order. The food has also gone a little downhill but not nearly as far as the service.
Classy looking casual spot with good food, nice staff, and great service. We had a great time.
