Trattoria Italian Kitchen - Burnaby
Hope server would be more tentative and friendlier. Overall was a good dining place. Love the Tuesdsy pasta special.
The server was very kind and food was good
It’s was all around pleasant. The server was fun.
I love this restaurant and only have one suggestion. Every time I've come in for brunch the food is luke-warm to almost cold. The sauce for the eggs bennie and the potatoes are always almost cold. However, the service, the food over all, the ambience is wonderful. That is my only suggestion. Warm up the food please. :)
Food nothing special, my pasta salty and small, not worth the price, service was okay at first than our waitress leave without letting us know so we didn’t get serve at the end. After we still pay 15% tip but staffs didn’t even say good bye at all.
Food was great. Wonderful selection of wines. Nice atmosphere. Great meeting place very close to Metrotown. Beautiful evening.
We will definitely going back and we have recommended it already to multiple people. Food was amazing and staff lovely!
Appetizers were good, pizza had a nice crust but pastas were not as good as expected for an Italian restaurant.
We were dining with family which included our senior parents ( one of which had tinnitus) and the music had too much bass which gave them an unpleasant dining experience.
Always good food and excellent service. Family friendly. Will modify food to suit tastes, particularly children.
A little nosier than needed food was good except pizza was too soggy
I have been to this Trattoria many times. I always have very good experience, but not this time:
I made our reservation last week to Trattoria for Sunday. We arrived (the hostess seemed to have a hard time trying to figure out where to put us and decided that we should be seated a private room. There was a large group already seated in that area. There were 2 tables left closer to the entrance. The Mezzanine was not full. I feel like we (being Asian and everyone sitting in the same private room) were put in that particular room for a reason, maybe I am just sensitive. There were plenty of room in the Mezzanine.
All of us ordered the dine out menu, 3 of us ordered the Grilled Veal T Bone. We were not ask “how would you like your steak”, the waitress told us that they only prepare the steak one way – medium – for all. I wished they have it written on their menu. I would have order from the regular menu.
Food was amazing! We didn't order chicken because last time we went one of the chicken leg was under cooked inside. Luckily we brought it home and just pan fried it. Food was delicious! Waiter and the waitress were very accommodating. They checked on us often and refilling water. Thank you!
Enjoyed a fabulous Dine Out 2020 menu at Trattoria. Staff went above & beyond to provide excellent service. Only unpleasantness was the noise level. So loud that everyone had to shout - and we were only a table of 3
Tried the Dine out menu but was disappointed. Very noisy. They ran out of the veal T-bone and substitute with veal chop which was fine to me but then the veal chop was tough. The side vegetables were cold .
They said they had gluten free options but honestly they didn’t have many they had maybe 10 things I could eat so it was disappointing for me
Everything great except when I mentioned the side plates was dirty, the server used his thumb to wipe it & gave it to me instead of giving me a new one. Totally disappointed.
It was a good time, i enjoyed my meal. It was definitely a Steal with the price. I would recommend any day anytime
Environment was very cafeteria like. Had no personality to it. Chairs were extremely close to each other. I was repeatedly getting bumped in the back. Kids running around screaming everywhere like a playground. Interior design was lacking personality.
Food wasn't exceptional. Gnocchi was more like mashed potatoes. Spaghetti noodles were overcooked.
They claim to be the best Italian restaurant in Burnaby, this is false and doesn't hold a candle to many others in Burnaby.
Would not recommend as there are much better options in the area.
The dine-out menu did not include any starch with their mains and would not swap out the 2 pieces of rappini for potatoes or rice. Only starch was in the vegetarian option which was gnocchi which was too acidic with the tomatoes.
We had a great dineout time!
This is a restaurant that I frequent but it's the first time I tried their dineout.
Went for dine out and we were seated in the small room with two other very large groups who were unfortunately drunk and making a racket. Other than the noise the other groups were making the food and service was very good. We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken for my child and I felt the salad tasted a little off but he didn't complain and finished the plate. From the dineout menu, the veal t-bone steak was superb. Our server was also super sweet. Overall, great experience and we will be back to try their Tuesday pasta deal.
The Veal T bone steak was really really tough, hard to cut with a steak knife. Taste was OK. Service staff took almost 15 minutes to figure out who our server was..
We had the dine out meal- warm wild mushroom salad, prosciutto and pear, t bone veal, chicken Milanese and the dessert. Everything was A+ in terms of flavour. The dessert was a great balance between sweet and tart, but I think the cream was still a bit too sweet- I wish it was more of a neutral vanilla mild cream rather than chantilly
All of this as a $25 each meal? Absolutely a steal. I would come next time to try their beef carpaccio and some drinks! The bar looked really, really nice.
Dine out was great!
Great Dine Out menu and food was delicious but I’m wondering why the TBone steak had to be almost well done. Could have been medium and juicier.
We enjoyed a lovely night out with great food and service to match. We ordered the Seared Salmon and Veal Marsala. the Salmon was done just right with tasty vegetables and tiny bead pasta. Very delicious! The Veal was also very tasty. I'm sure we'll be back.
dine out menu that we chose was a poor choice, we had 2 veal main dishes and one was fine but the other one was so hard it felt like chewing a piece of rubber. my husband switched with me after my complaint and he finished the dish, mentioned it briefly to our server but somehow she didn't hear it. Everything else was good, just the veal wasn't cooked properly. we learned that we should just stick to pasta for this place!
Great food, nice house wine. A little noisy. Recommend the pesto gnocchi.
Went to Trattoria for Dine Out. I ordered the onion soup but was given the salad. I told them that was incorrect and about 6-8 minutes later the soup came out. The soup flavour was a bit odd. It had some cabbage note to it. The Chicken Milanese was good with the blood orange, but the butter lettuce did not add anything to the dish. A non-alc drink was ordered with light / half syrup. It appears to have been full syrup as it was not drinkable. Tried adding water to it, but still too sweet. Better to stick with wine or beer.
Service was outstanding! Nice and quiet as a snow day so very few people there. Prices high for lunch fare. Wine list was more expensive than other restaurants carrying the same product.
Poor layout, tables are either in the main thoroughfare or under blinding spotlights. The ambience is that of a warehouse. Food was ok but we had to ask a couple times for forks and she forgot our dessert. Won’t return.
Excellent food and service. Server awesome and super care customers.
Food was great. Servers are great too..Authentic Italian. Even my children loved the place and the food. Serving is in the small side but its oks because we ate on Tuesday pasta.
We made a reservation and dined here on New Year's Eve.
Seated at a table near the bar.
We all ordered different pasta dishes during Pasta Tuesday. Food came quickly. Tasty but could be better. Portions were on the smaller side. Definitely not full.
Ambience was lacking. Felt that was no privacy, almost like sitting in a cafeteria.
Men's washroom was felt everywhere and ladie's did not have paper towels.
New Years Eve, early dinner with family. Food was awesome, & having your 2 specials on way great, half price bottles of wine, & $13 pasta! Such a deal
First time at this location. It was a lot larger than expected. Great food and atmosphere.
Went for dinner on New Year's Eve and very much enjoyed our meal. It was pasta Tuesday and our pastas, though not huge, were good and tasty and a good deal at $13. It was also happy hour and our pizza and drinks were good. Service was ok - we had 3 different servers over the course of our meal and felt pressured to settle the bill before dessert as one of our servers was getting off shift.
Cheap cheap cheap! You could tell by the ingredients/meal that they did everything possible to reduce the cost of the good used to make the meal. Hardly a deal when they use cheap ingredients: chicken legs (restaurants only use that to reduce costs), low cost dessert (a couple hard donut looking things, the appy was far from interesting or tasty.
Not a deal when all you get is crappy food .
Disappointing and far below Glowbal’s usual standards.
If you can’t afford to play, then don’t!
The restaurant has changed for the worse since our last visit and we will not return. The food and price point was good but the restaurant was not in the best of conditions, tables wobbly, chairs were old and uncomfortable, noise level was overpowering.
