True Food Kitchen - San Diego FV
We loved our waitress, Marie. She’s the best. Food was very good.
Food was delicious and services was incredible. Our table had lasagna, burger and steak tacos...I tasted everything and all were fantastic.
The food was awesome and our server was great! We will definitely be back!
The charred cauliflower and new featured salad were incredible!
Very good food. Excellent experience
Expensive, but delicious, healthy food and service was excellent.
The food was soooooo yummy. I love that they have a lot of vegan options.
Appetizers and dessert were awful. Entrees are always over the top.
The drinks are delicious, creative, fun.
Absolutely amazing food and service. Wish we had one in our home state!
Portions were much smaller than we experienced in previous visits. The fish tacos are good but a very small serving based on the price. We will visit again when we want the very healthy items offered but not when we are looking for a "filling" meal.
Perfect as always.
Good clean food, always impressive
Loved it. Nice food and service, seats are comfortable too.
Two of us had an extended luncheon meeting sitting outside. We were not hurried ever. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful to the max. And, finally, it was a quiet, pleasant setting for a great lunch and business discussion. Thank you!
A truly unique and healthy dining experience. The menu offerings are so vast with complex flavors that your palette will be thrilled and satisfied. The dishes I ordered were the freshest vegetables I'd ever had in a restraunt setting and cooked to perfection. The vibe was friendly and attentive. Perfect for Vegans... and all people that value a healthy lifestyle.
Only dissapointment...no IPA draft.
Only 2 choices .. Can
Farm to table delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Amazing service! Delicious food! Everything is delicious!!
Overall it's a great place, delicious food for adults and children, servers were generally attentative, but had to flag down a staff person twice to ask them to get our server, and outside patio is a bit noisy (but not as bad as inside), wish they could tone down the music outside, especially at lunch time, it sounds more like a club than a restaurant.
The food options vary and offer vegan and vegetarian food. The servers are personable and polite and professional. The location is at the Fashion Valley Mall so it is conveniently located for neighborhoods in San Diego.
We prefer the UTC location; it was Fathers Day so things may not have been as good on a normal day here. The polenta bowl wasn’t as good as usual.
Food and staff were excellent as always. The outside covered patio is perfect for mild and warm days and they are dog friendly. Great place for an upscale lunch date and/or specialty cocktail with your meal.
Our server was great - the food was interesting, seemed healthy and well-prepared.
Who knew a Cobb salad could be this good. My partner reports that his pizza was excellent.
Ash was a great waitress but another girl we asked for help was very rude , sighed, and rollers her eyes twice she clocked out around 1:15pm on 06/09/2019 so I didn’t catch her name but I’m sure management can see that.
Early Father’s Day brunch.
At first we were hesitant to go to a restaurant in a shopping mall but we were really impressed. We arrived on time for our 6:30 on a Saturday night reservation and actually found free parking. I believe if you get there later on you'd have to pay $5? We were seated right away and our server, Brittany, was perfect. She was friendly, helpful and attentive. We had a few appetizers and a few entrees and were happy with them all. Great experience.
Service is definitely a miss at this place. It’s such a shame because the food is good but when you have a server who purposefully ignores your table to refill water or clear your dishes and provide the check, it ruins the overall experience. After we ate, our empty plates and glasses sat on our table for 15 minutes and our server passed us 3 times—always ignoring us but catering to the table on the left and right side of us. She never offered a dessert menu which was a bit of a bummer. We literally had to raise our hands to get her attention and ask for the check.
I’m not going to pull the race card but observing who our server was paying more attention to was very unfortunate. (You just wouldn’t think that ignorance still existed in San Diego...) It was a very disheartening to have experienced this at a restaurant whose food we’ve always appreciated. There are plenty of other places in San Diego that offer gluten free, vegan, or healthy entrees with servers who are genuine and attentive.
Great food, engaging, knowledgable servers and were gracious in accommodating our schedule.
Good food. Good service. Nice outdoor area. But the music is too loud so interferes with conversation Good value for the portion sizes. Overall nice experience except noise level.
It was great, always a good spot
Get place with great food.
I love my kale w/salmon salad and True Food, you make it better than any restaurant around.
We came here to celebrate my son’s college graduation. We had a great experience. Food was delicious and fresh. Drinks were awesome too. Service was exceptional! Highly recommend this place!
Although the plates are a bit on the pricey side, our food was fresh, unique and delicious. The team work of the waiters and waitresses and cleanliness of the restaurant was an A+.
I love the ancient grain bowl here. I am never disappointed. My husband also loves the grass fed beef burger. This is one of our go to spots for dinner when we have the opportunity to go out with out daughters.
Amazing food, always fresh!
Our experience was totally positive. We had been given a gift certificate and plan to return again
True food service is a hit or miss, some servers are great and some aren’t. This time we got someone that wasn’t so attentive. I asked for water with lemon she brought water that is Luke warm and no lemons, I asked for three straws, she forgot about it till I called her and reminded her again. she seemed to be in a rush and we noticed that she was more attentive to the other tables. We ordered an appetizer, she came after 20 minutes and told us that our main course is on its way, and that she was going to bring us some chips for our guacamole, we waited for about 15 minutes for the chips. Our main course took more than half an hour, when I got mine there was a piece of hair on my plate so I sent it back. I had to wait another 10 minutes for my meal. Although they did take it off my bill, which was nice. My point is, true food isn’t cheap, so why is the service not consistently great? I can get a better service at chic fil let. It’s really disappointing when you end up with a server that doesn’t know what the tru meaning of excellent service is. We are never going back.
Very friendly attentive waiter. Excellent chicken wrap.
Great place for small or large groups, food is the focus but service was fantastic as well.
