$4 Brunch Cocktails
Sunday Boozy brunch with $4 brunch cocktails til 2:30 PM
applewood bacon-pea risotto, tomato pesto
Have gluten allergy and had reaction to "gluten free' crab cake dinner.
The service started out slowly but did improve a bit. The hamburger was delicious. But I was disappointed that the caramelized onions (for $1 extra) were no where near caramelized. I even asked for the onions to be well done.
On the whole my husband’s pork sandwich and my burger were tasty and the fries were good as well.
We will be back!
Took my mom and brother for their birthday dinner and they were really happy with the restaurant. Food was amazing and service was exceptional.
Love it here. Cool ambiance. Great food. Great waiter!
Hot...right out of the kitchen.
Shane, our server, was outstanding.
Will be going back many times.
Luv this place - great food - great service!
We had a pleasant dinner experience.
Lights are too bright for a pub style meal. Bright lights above our table
Martini wasn’t served as listed on menu but food was very good. Bar and band were festive but could have used another bartender.
Went for New Years Eve dinner. Arrived early so our party of 4 had drinks at the main bar. Big crowd part atmosphere. Despite packed bar a bartender took our order within a minute of seating. The hostess found us and we were seated at our table just a few minutes past our reservation time. Dinner menu was special for New Years Eve and had adequate variety. We all enjoyed our appetizers and entrees, we also also enjoyed dessert but very limited selection. Our server was excellent despite being very busy. Overall we enjoyed the experience. I’ve been at Tucker’s for lunch on two occasions and always felt satisfied. It’s was pricey for New Years but that’s usually the norm everywhere. Will definitely return in the future.
Grouper & Salmon were delish!
Moved us from a table which was bad for us with ease !
Food fabulous as always
Have eaten here several times & always had a good meal. During the summer season it can be crowded & noisy & you may have to wait awhile for a table even with a reservation. We actually prefer to go here off-season as it’s open year round.
Recently had a great meal here on a cold winter night. I had penne with hot Italian sausage bolognese & my husband had the wood fired beef tenderloin. I also had a seasonal drink of Hot Buttered Rum which warmed me up & was really delicious!
Quiet off season evening. Great waiter. Food very good. Prices somewhat high.
Will definitely be back. Substantially improved over previous owners.
Good bar. Good entertainment.
I have been going to tuckers for years. The decor has been updated. The food was good. The service was good.
We were looking forward to a nice dinner at Tuckers and we were very disappointed. Romaine lettuce in ceasar salad tasted like it was just pulled from the garden and "medium" burger was red inside. The crabcake and pork sandwiches were very good but overall, especially for what we spent, it was not worth it. We had no issues with service, just the meal itself.
Great time at Tucker’s .
Great beer selection.
Diverse menu for all.
Tucker's is really a tavern with a full restaurant menu. The ambiance is fine and, during the off-season, the noise level is moderate. For beer drinkers, there is a good selection of interesting craft brews on tap.
Given the tavern-like atmosphere, you'd expect the "bar menu" type entrees to be good. On a recent trip, the fish and chips fell short of the mark. The fish was extremely greasy and the batter was nearly inedible. Note to the kitchen: heat the oil before adding the fish.
Two restaurant-like entrees were better. The salmon was very good; the flounder was good, although the sauce was applied with a heavy hand.
Service, which is usually very good, also slipped a notch. We were never offered bread (other tables nearby were); the waiter didn't tell us about the specials (but explained them to the table next to us after we had ordered); and no one appeared to refill water glasses.
Finally, our meal was disturbed by a loud-mouth bigot at a nearby table. Not the restaurant's fault, but unwelcome nonetheless.
UPDATE 11-12-19: After reading this review, Tuckers offered to send me a gift card, which signifies a restaurant that is really trying to be good. Perhaps our last visit was just an off night.
Food was good but not worth the prices. Some examples: husband loved his appetizer of calamari but my bisque was pretty good not great, huge portion but no crab or lobster more like cream with lobster flavor and no bread or cracker. My dinner was another appetizer- paid $24 for wedge salad with grilled shrimp ($11 or 12 more). Shrimp were small, 6, unseasoned definitely not grilled but ... meh adequate. Clearly husbands key lime pie was thawed frozen not fresh or house made - again - meh. We ordered lemonade it was really meh and was like water with a squirt of lemon. No cocktails nor beer nor wine - $100 before tip.
It was our first time dining at Tucker's Tavern. It was excellent in every way. We will be back!
Nice atmosphere, just a little loud with the music. Service was great and entertaining. Will be back!
Service was extremely slow and food was almost inedible. One person in our group ordered the cheeseburger and enjoyed that
It is hard to find a "kid friendly" restaurant these days that is also grown up friendly :)
Tuckers Tavern had a great wine list, great beers, great food, clean restaurant and bathroom, great friendly, patient, kid-friendly server that knew exactly what we needed. We would be back for sure and would absolutely recommend this restaurant!
My only complaint is that we booked the table on Open Table, I checked in with my name, exactly at 6pm, had a great dinner experience, but later that night I received an email that the restaurant cancelled the reservation. An email to Open Table rectified the situation and I was given the points, but TT should educate their front of the house staff on how to check people in that use this awesome service! Thanks!
I do not think that Tucker's food and service are as good in October as in the summer months. I don't know if they are under staffed when it is out of season or if something changed, but the food, while good, was not "as good" as it is in the summer months. One exception was the pulled pork, which everyone who tried it raved about. I had fish filet Francaise and it was mushy and bland. The fried pickles, which we usually love, were somehow under-cooked and, I guess you would say "hard". The calamari was also kind of bland. We were not offered bread for the table, which I think was odd, as I thought I remembered getting bread in the past (but I could be wrong on this point). I would recommend trying in the summer months.
We had a beautiful brunch with our adult children and their spouses....our A-Team! The service was perfect, as always, and the food was delicious. The French Toast was superb!
Took way too long to get our food!
Our last night of vacation we have been to Tucker’s for dinner 4 years in a row - this year was disappointing. It seems like the menu has become more limited while the prices/value isn’t what it used to be. Paying $5-10 more for a dish I can get somewhere else doesn’t sit well with me, besides knowing I can make the same thing for 50-70% less.
The noise level outside has gone up- obviously they have cranked up the music for the lower level of outside dining to compensate for the noise in the upstairs Buoy Bar but it was challenging to hear each other and we gave up talking at dinner. Our calamari was not fresh - obvious by the rubber band texture that stopped me from eating more than a couple pieces. My mixed drink was $10 and really only worth about $6. Of the servers in our area, only 1 seemed to actually care about his work & his customers - thankfully that is who we had. But even his attempts to be on top of things were eclipsed by the less than exciting affording meal choices & the noise & incessant bombardment of flies trying to enjoy our food before we could. This may have been our last time at Tucker’s 😞 which stinks cuz the marina & sunset view is delightful.
Thanks to Open Table and Tucker's our party of 7 was seated promptly. Before dining we grabbed a drink at their rooftop bar, Buoy Bar which I highly recommend. Dinner is consistently good at Tucker's and the service top notch.
Okay so I know it's off season in LBI, however Tuckers is open all year so poor service is unacceptable. Our waiter came over in a timely manner and took the drink and starter order. At that time he said he would bring over bread for the table. The drinks and the starters came although there were no serving utensils, so serving was a mess. Still no bread...so we asked the server who brought the starters and that didn't get any attention. Finally the waiter came back and I asked him if he could bring the bread he forgot to bring. He said he would bring it over, and 5 min. later he brought us 5 rolls and 5 pats of butter for the table of 8??? I got his attention and he came back. I simply asked how many people were at the table and he said 8, I then asked him why he would bring 5 rolls? He said he would get more and he did return with the second basket.
We frequent Tucker's both in and off season and the last visit 4 weeks earlier was great, the manager came by to make sure all was good and followed up on a slight issue. Not this time, the tables around us were empty and un-bussed for quite some time, doesn't make a great impression for our out of town guests.
The up side was the food, which was on point as usual. If you stay open off season you need to make sure you don't drop the ball just because it's off season, if that's the intention then close off season to protect your reputation, rather than burning the year round customers.
Food good, service great. Plenty of room in dining hall, bar crowded. Great drinks!
My first time but my wife had been before. It was a good experience. The restaurant was not crowded though the bar was packed. Food and service were good.
Salad was great, oysters were great, two pan seared mahia mahi entrées, served on a corn cake with slaw, both were terrible. Fish was dried out and without flavor, corn cake was delicious, slaw just OK! Server took one entrée of the bill.
We are very thankful for the open table option. The reception/host area was a tad chaotic with the usual entitled old ladies stepping in front of the rest of us in line. Regardless of that scene, we were seated quickly. Our server Dylan H was fantastic. We had great apps/meal- scallops and salmon were delish
Great place and very good specials. They accommodated a party of 8 in a beautiful spot on their outdoor deck . Be back soon :)
Fantastic from start to finish- the receptionist seated us where we wanted right away-our waiter was Mike and he was cheerful, and so helpful. Definitely our favorite waiter this summer! The additional wait staff that stepped in were also nice and helpful. The food was delicious! We strongly recommend the shishito peppers only a few were really hit but they were done perfectly. The seafood Cobb was loaded with seafood. The drinks were perfect as well. The view of the boats coming in from the bay in the outdoor seating section made this a spectacular end to summer celebration! Kudos to management for excellent staff hires from reception to wait staff to chefs - well done!
My request was satisfied that we had the round table since we are deaf and see each other on round table. The waitress was very pleasant and understood our communication mode. The food was very fabulous! We’d like to go back in the future.
Nice atmosphere, good food. So loud, no conversation.
Our waiter Cooper was wonderful. View was excellent and food was great.
