bearnaise & brie fondue, garam masala ketchup
Chicken Cajun Alfredo
fettuccini, Cajun alfredo sauce, peppers, onions, parmesan
tempura battered, sweet and spicy buffalo sauce, choice of ranch or blue cheese
Very cold in the winter.
Short rib was great and the cinnamon roll bread pudding awesome!
The service was fine, but our table was dirty when we were sat and there was a dirty water glass with lipstick. When we got our food there was a produce sticker in the food.
The dining room was just okay, nothing special. The waiter worked hard but seemed to be busy and never took away our dirty plates. We had to ask for the check and pile our dishes on top of each other because the 2 top was quite small. The food was tasty but not worth what we paid for the dishes. It would have been nice to have gotten bread at least. I know we were downtown and prices are higher but this was not worth the price we paid.
Our server did well and the food was good, but halfway through our meal, the staff started breaking down all the tables and chairs around us, and loudly and repeatedly dragging them across the cement floor right next to us. I understand they convert the space from restaurant to dance club, but this really ruined our dining experience. Therefore I can only recommend this place for dinner if you are seated no later than 8pm. Our 9pm seating was quite unpleasant.
My husband and I were skipped over even though we had reservations for people who didn’t. We were seated last after all of the white people were seated. We ordered drinks and left. I’ve never been treated like this at any restaurant in Minnesota.
Our server, Maria, was AMAZING! Hands down would come back just to have her level service again. The Cajun Chicken Pasta.... WOW. I'm still dreaming about it, that's how delicious it was. Highly recommend this place!
Reservations were easy to make. Service was great, with the exception of knowingly serving cold coffee. Food arrived very fast. It was cold in the restaurant & we had a hard time relaxing enough to enjoy our meal. We noticed several other guests wearing jackets too. Apps & desserts were excellent (oysters, shrimp, & chocolate cake). Meals taste just okay, somewhat bland.
Made this reservation for brunch back in late November as a Christmas present to friends I only see once or twice a year.
We were all so excited as we were walking up to the restaurant, only to be greeted by a locked door and a sign that said “closed due to building issues. Go to our sister restaurant Crave”.
We check crave and it doesn’t open until 4pm. I didn’t get a call, email or anything from UNION notifying me of this closure. It was a huge disappointment and honestly, insanely disrespectful to me as a customer.
I will not be going to UNION restaurants again after this treatment.
It was beautiful. The atmosphere and ambience alone was enough for me to go back. The food was delicious and the service was great. Would definitely recommend!
The food and coffee were very Luke warm. It was also freezing the the facility in general. Wasn’t a good experience for something I was so excited for.
Molly was our server and did a fantatice job of helping us naviagate apps, drinks, dinner and dessert. The food was also equally delicious. With Molly's fun attitude and enthusiasm, this was a find dining experience I'd recommend for anyone. I'll be back again...
Friendly staff and good food. Rushed service. Overpriced for the experience.
It was our first time there and we enjoyed the window looking out on the lights of the surrounding buildings. The food was good, nicely presented and delicious. Our waitress was good, kept things moving along without interrupting us.
It was a little cool, but I'm assuming due to all the windows.
The grilled oysters were phenomenal! By far the star of the show.
My boyfriend got the Filet and that was good, but nothing out of this world. The cook on it was just what we were looking for though. I got the steak frites and it was good, not great. We did enjoy the fries though. I also enjoyed the extra sauces, caramelized mushrooms and onions. I would not order a mojito, it was not good. The cabernet was delicious.
Overall the food (besides the oysters) was good, but nothing special.
As for the atmosphere, we were a little nervous when we first walked in. The lower level was empty, which once we figured out where to go was fine, but it looked a little dingy. The first floor could definitely use some updates. Next we experienced the elevator which also was in need of some updating/upkeep. Finally when we got to the rooftop (the main event), it was much better. The atmosphere was nice and the view was fun. We enjoyed our table next to the windows and the glass roof. Our server was okay. I used to be a server, so I tend to look around and see what they all have going on before I get to critical over speed or quality. He didn't seem to have too much going and yet didn't come back that often to check on us. He wasn't horrible, but not as attentive as I would have expected for this restaurant.
Glad we went and experienced it, and might come back and try breakfast, but probably won't go back again for dinner.
Visiting town from Nashville to see my boyfriend on the Anastasia National Tour. Our date night at UNION was excellent! Thank you.
There was a DJ and everyone was telling to hear over the music. I noticed the DJ just had his phone hooked up and was eating and checking his phone most of the time. Why have a DJ? People asked to move from the DJ location as the speakers were huge and the noise level made it painful. We couldn’t enjoy being with people we haven’t seen in a long time.
Outstanding food, beware of the craft cocktail pricing if you're unsure of what to drink.
Food was great, excellent recommendations from server. Wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend
Great service and solid food. Fries were just okay.
My 10 year old daughter and I were going to Anastasia and she wanted a “fancy” dinner beforehand. It was supposed to be a night to remember. I booked a table in what you call the Dining Room but ended up on roof top where all of the pre-game Timberwolf crowd was partying. We were also sat next to the door of the kitchen which was so cool smelling the rot all night and having people hit us in the elbows all night. The server was great but everything else was an absolute nightmare. My daughter will remember this for another reason and will never come back to this place. Plus we had edamame, calamari and fish and chips and paid an absurd $137. I will go out of my way to make sure this happens to no one else.

The atmosphere is always lovely on the rooftop and the snow falling made it even more special. Our food was top notch - truffle brussel sprouts were to die for and sea bass was delicious and perfectly prepared. Our server, Sandra, was excellent. She is an asset to the restaurant. Overall, great experience!
The restaurant didn’t look like the pictures. The place wasn’t well taken care of. But The food was pretty good. I probably wouldn’t go back.
It was great!
Good quality food, but very expensive. I would expect much higher quality food for the price.
Our reservation was at 10:00am. We arrived a couple of minutes late but the restaurant doors were all locked and the lights were off. We didn't see anyone inside. We pulled on the door handles many times. Another party arrived a couple of minutes later and also tried the door. Right when we were about to give up a man in sweats came to the door and told us they will open shortly. They shouldn't take 10 am reservations if they cannot be ready in time. Also, our waiter went missing once we got our food. I saw him wear his coat and step out and we were left waiting a very long time for our check before another waiter came and asked if I needed something since I was staring her down.
Wrong potatoe side dish served. Seafood pasta was dry and seasoned poorly. Calamari very chewy. Filet was cooked perfect but bland, bernaise didn’t help it. Cold and loud tables tiny.
Show at the State Theater.
Our waitress was amazing !!
Food was great and service was fabulous! Highly recommend the the crispy pork dumplings, the braised short ribs and Molly!!
The aesthetics of the restaurant are exciting, but the acoustics are very poor. It was difficult to hear the person I was with at times and equally difficult to hear the server, especially wearing masks. They obviously try to pack in as many patrons as possible, so you'll need to get used to being close to adjacent tables. The food was very good, and, overall, we enjoyed the experience, however, some may feel that the value is not there.
Loud DJ noise for lunch. The food is okay.
Was not aware that loud music would be playing via a DJ. That should be made more clear when booking. The tables were very tiny and close together. It was more of a college age group and vibe. Food was very average but came out quickly. Server was nice and responsive. The elevator was broken so we climbed 3 flights of stairs while passing other going up/down which was not great for social distancing and these were not clean or meant for the public.
We really enjoyed our experience at Union Rooftop - mainly because our server was AMAZING! She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had our 2 year old with us, and sometimes places dont make you feel very welcome with kids - but she incredible and made the entire experience great.
The one downside is that you can tell that the building is getting old and needs some TLC. The restrooms were pretty bad and the smell of backed up sewage (or something just as unpleasant) was very strong and you could faintly smell it in the dining room. Hopefully that is something they are looking in to fixing.
Overall - great service, energy and food made it a great memory for my family!
Server was friendly, but when I ordered a dirty martini, he asked what kind of vodka I wanted instead of gin, which confused me for a bit. The appetizer of firecracker shrimp was very good, but my entree of Pad Thai was bland, the veggies were barely cooked, and the chicken was over cooked and dry. A fun space, but the food I got won’t notice me to return anytime soon.
The food was fantastic….lobster Mac and cheese, truffle fries, and the la Leche chocolate dessert. We ordered an appetizer, salads and entrees. We asked for the salads to come out before the entree, which it did,but just barely. It seemed like we got the appetizer, salad, and entree one right after the other. Then we waited a while for our dessert. Other than those timing issues, all was perfectly wonderful.
Find was excellent, service was iffy. I.E. Didn't have wine requested, didn't bring back the wine menu. Had coffee with cream, had to request a spoon. Waiter never came to table inquiring about the food or any other needs.
Pre-pandamic this was one of our favs…. but this visit was just this side of terrible. Our server was non-existant, the place smelled like sour bar-rags. We were initially seated at a so-so table, then moved (for no apparent reason) to literally the worst table in the house (just outside the kitchen service door). AND - there were multiple nice two-tops open when we arrived…and when we left, so there was no reason to seat anyone at this table. The hall to the bathroom was littered with chairs, cast-off tables and other ‘storage’ items. I felt like I was walking thru their storeroom to get to the bathroom. The sour smell was joined with bad-fish smell in this area. The appetizers were pretty good, but the entres were not (and expensive to boot). I had the $35 lobstr mac-n-cheese. I found only one, very small piece of lobster. The pork-belly medalions were hard as rocks and there was very little sauce - so I basically paid $35 for dried-out pasta. My husband had fish-n-chips which was all overly cooked (burnt tasting) batter with very litte fish. Over the years this place has been a bit up and down, but the downs were never all that bad so we always came back…. but I think this is probably our last visit. Too bad as it really can be a beautiful space.
Our group enjoyed our experience at Union Rooftop. Our server was very friendly and helpful and she contributed to the enjoyment of our evening. The food was fresh and delicious. Your restaurant was a great choice before our show.
