Valley Inn Restaurant and Martini Bar
Wonderful as always. Noise level was non existent.
Is was extremely hard to get waitress to come take our order—my wife finally went into the kitchen area to see if she could come out and take it. Once our order was taken service was smooth.
It’s a wonderful old school place with everything you might imagine. I had the chicken Milanese and it wasn’t great and the pasta it came with was cold. For dessert I had the cheesecake and it was very much like a Costco cheesecake. My friends all had the pork chop and loved it but said the carrot cake fell flat. If you’re going out with friends who you enjoy, you’re going to to have a blast because of the atmosphere.
This is old-school, both menu and decor. Portions and drinks are generous. This is where you go for comfort food, but sometimes service can be slow.
Valley Inn is consistently good. My only wish is that their salmon was wild caught vs just fresh. GREAT bar with lots of Hollywood/L.A./Sports memorabilia.
Kind of old-timey Hollywood/Valley, which is clearly popular with that set. Food is good enough and our server was very attentive but honestly, for those extremely high prices I’d rather spend my $$$$ at a more contemporary restaurant.
This place is a gem. I grew up in the neighborhood and I can vouch that it is perfectly preserved in time. The vibe is a classic hollywood. The meat is excellent, martinis are top notch, and our server, Victoria, is an absolute delight! I’m not sure you can have the full experience dining at The Valley Inn without Victoria. Take her recommendations and definitely get the shrimp cocktail.
We're long-time patrons. Didn't get the type of table we requested. The waiter had no information about the food. Took forever to get our drinks and even longer to be served. Very disappointing.
Been living in Sherman Oaks for nearly 4 years and during this time have always wanted to try Valley Inn. Had heard great things from friends. So I decided to take my girlfriend on Friday, 1/31/20 for dinner. Made reservations for 7:15pm on OpenTable. While the hostess was nice and acknowledged our reservation, we did not get seated until approximately 8pm. During this time, they sat people that arrived after us, in what appeared to be preferential treatment for regulars. Once seated, our waiter did not take down our drink orders correctly. So it was about another 20+ minutes before we had our drinks. Once we were able to order our food, it took another hour to get it. While the hostess and waiter were polite, I would have expected them to go the extra mile. While an excessive wait time despite having a reservation is understandable, I would expect a reasonable restaurant to offer some type of courtesy like a complimentary appetizer, drinks, and/or dessert (which is fairly standard based on my previous experiences). Valley Inn did not make any type of offer or concession. Outside of the poor experience there, the food was pretty good. Sadly, I don't think we'll be making it back though.
I hadn't been to the Valley Inn for 15 plus years. It was as I remembered. A terrific, quiet, old school restaurant.
Great Neighborhood Gem, especially if you want to be able to talk to the people you came with. Home cooked feeling, large portions and Delicious!!
Always good food and excellent service!
Branzino fish was inedible. Very greasy and a slighty rancid taste.
It was expensive and server didn't notice that I only took a couple of bites.
I thought I was having a bad night and took it home thinking it would be better the next day but we threw it all out.
Cost is a bit much but the food is also good. I would love to see cosmetic update.
The Valley Inn has been a consistent location for excellent food, great service, and multiple menu choices in a comfortable low-noise environment. The easy (no valet) parking and owners who are always there to welcome guests and ensure a high-quality dining experience make this a favorite destination for those who eschew the trendy noisy competition. It is truly like having dinner at the home of your favorite relatives.
Our Christmas Day meal at the Valley Inn was delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient. The filet mignon and roast duckling on the prix fixe limited menu were standouts.
Very enjoyable evening. Our waiter was great. Food was very good, I had the salmon which was perfectly done. Very festive at Christmas . Nice that there is metered parking on the street, no expensive valet.
We hadn’t been to the Valley Inn for quite awhile. It remains old school dependable. The portion (of salmon) was small for the price. The quality was very good.
Our server was nice and attentive. Overall, as usual, we enjoyed the experience and I recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely loved this place. First timers and we will be back for sure. Food was fantastic as was the ambiance. A little loud but with the great food who cares.
You can always count on having a Yummy Meal! It is a wonderful place to go with friends and family because you can hear each other.
Great as usual
Poor quality rib roast and sides.
Very enjoyable! Very festive decor for the holidays. Food and drinks were very good. The server was polite and friendly, efficient but was good not to ask too many times if everything was ok. Just right!
Thank you and Have a Wonderful Holiday Season
One of my favorite places for dinner meetings! Always perfect.
Thank you, have a wonderful Holiday Season
Valley Inn Restaurant is a wonderful place to eat. The service was excellent. The food was very good, and the value matched. The restaurant is very welcoming and has a nice romantic feeling. It is also a great place for parties, or the unfortunate reception of a loved lone that has passed. The last time I was here, we and family had a reception for my friend that passed from cancer. It did extremely well with the reservations, service, food, and understanding from the staff of the occasion. They were sympathetic to the occasion also.
Always good and reliable, this is a classic place. Try the roasted or fried chicken. Takes 20 minutes but worth the wait. Have a couple martinis while waiting.
The Valley Inn is a go-to place for us. Consistently good and the old fashioned vibe and booths suit us to a T.
The food and service continue to be excellent. What a nice local find.
Fried chicken and the roasted chicken was fantastic. The service was good, I would go back
Always good food and amazing service. We frequent this establishment and are never disappointed. Consistency is the very best a restaurant can offer, valley Inn never disappoints
Service was great. Food was yummy as usual and generous portions. A favorite go to place!
The meat was not as good as usual
I made a reservation for dinner but put in the wrong date! They were very accommodating and found us a table. Very nice evening.
Old school charm yet not too dark. Skip the pricey bar and head straight to a corner booth. Excellent service but don't skimp on 1 at a time bread rolls. I really enjoyed the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. Pasta never hurt anybody. Nice wine pour. Try an' beat dinner crowd.
I love the atmosphere of this place. It is very reminiscent of the Hollywood's heyday restaurants. Big cushy booths and an intimate atmosphere.
All was perfect as always.
Really good food a bit overpriced but worth it for the atmosphere.
Wonderful restaurant and run by the owners who are there every night!
Requested to sit in the room with a TV to watch the Baseball Game- Easily accommodated. Neighborhood gem. Quality Beef.
