Village Social-Biltmore Estate
The meal & the service were outstanding. My steak was cooked perfectly & the brussel sprouts were delicious. The wine & beer lists were good but my key lime martini was a highlight of the meal. Highly recommend!!! I gave a 3 star for ambiance because the retaurant opens up in to the hotel lobby & I felt like we were right on top of neighboring tables. Overall, a great experience & will return.
The food and service were both top-notch. The scallops are a must-try and the tequila mockingbird is to die for. Our server was super helpful as we reviewed the options on the menu and remained attentive during our time there.
Lovely restaurant, good food and wonderful service
Excellent, farm fresh experience! Best quality, relaxed upscale environment.
Server was okay, she didn't seem very happy to be there, but was still nice & efficient.
Loved it! The first night we had reservations, the second we did not. Even so, we were able to sit at the bar and have dinner vs waiting an hour and a half for a table!
Take away: get reservations! They are very accommodating. If you’re running late you can move your seating time back.
Food was excellent. I had the vegan vegetable bowl & my friend had the crab bisque. Both were excellent. I highly recommend the cheddar biscuits with blueberry jam as an appetizer/snack. Portion sizes were perfect! I pretty much cleaned my plate and didn’t feel stuffed. I was however too full for desert! 😔
Servers were pleasant. orders were taken quickly and food delivered in a timely manner.
I thoroughly appreciated the more casual atmosphere and live music.
Loved it so much we will be back!
We were staying at the Village Hotel for an anniversary getaway and decided to eat at the hotel for dinner. The food was amazing, the service was great. We were offered complementary champagne for our anniversary. We both decided we didn’t want dessert but they still brought us complementary truffles and fruit on a decorated plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate.
Fun place to enjoy a craft cocktail or a glass of local wine. Lively atmosphere with great service and delicious food. The scallops on the appetizer menu (big enough to be an entree for light eaters) were perfectly cooked - melted in my mouth!
At dinner, Tonya was a fabulous server, warm, funny, knowledgeable and a great addition to the evening!
For breakfast, their crab and pesto scramble (served over chunks of delectable potatoes) was amazing. Huge pile of lump crab meat on top of fluffy eggs scrambled with fresh pesto and perfectly sautéed onions - yum!
Grilled fish tacos were great along with sides. Summer did an excellent job with service. Always a great experience.
One of the winter benefits of being a passholder is the discount on Biltmore restaurants. We love the mussels. The Brussel sprout portion has shrunk. The salad which we shared was split in the kitchen and had perfect dressing
Vegy burger was a sad excuse for a burger. Wilted lettuce. No flavor. Two tiny pickles and the French fries were diner quality. Complete bust!
Excellent service! We all loved our food. My shrimp and grits was the best thing I've tried in the past 3 years! I would go there for sure again and recommend it to friends!!!
Bayley was fantastic and the food was all delicious
We were staying at the hotel and decided to have dinner here I went to the hostess and she said it was an hour wait until something was open. I went onto open table and got a reservation for 15 minutes from then and returned at my reserved time and the hostess Melissa made an offhand remark about open table always doing things that they "didn't approve of". When we were seated there were plenty of tables for my party of 3 to be seated at. The food was great and came out fast. The waitress was attentive and the atmosphere was great I would definitely eat here again maybe the hostess was in a bad mood
I rarely write reviews expressing disappointment but I just don't want someone else making a reservation for a special event like I did for my 50th birthday and being disappointed too. Don't get me wrong, this would be a nice place to eat on a typical vacation. The staff was attentive, the décor and seating was comfortable, the desserts and I could have a nice conversation with my husband and hear him. The fact that I paid $36 for a steak that consisted mostly of fat and covered with so much sauce that the taste of the steak didn't come through and 6 dime size potatoes was the most disappointing part. Hopefully, this info will be shared with the chef and they can alter this menu item to the customer's taste. Just want customers to be informed before ordering.
Atlantic halibut was awesome
We had breakfast and dinner here and the food was delicious- 5 stars! We will be back!
There are limited options for dining at the Biltmore Estate. We know going in that the cost will be higher than if we were to go off property and typically the food and the service are so good that you can forgive it. However on this day (which was my father's 71st birthday - which no payment was made to it even though it asked on the reservation if there was a special occasion), my dad was not feeling well and even on a regular day he cannot eat large portion because of his health. We were going to be traveling within a few hours of flying and asked if he could order off the kids menu (even at a higher cost) and we were told he could not. Happy Birthday to him. Also, while on property over the weekend, after eating he got sick from the food that ruined his short weekend birthday getaway. We were all disappointed.
We went to Village Social at The Biltmore Estate for lunch last weekend. We got a variety of small plates and dishes to share. We tried the Virginia oysters on the half shell, seafood "fondue" (more of cheese soup with bread), grilled oysters in a tarragon butter, beer battered brussels sprouts with a vinaigrette remoulade, the she crab bisque, and a side of mac and cheese. The seafood fondue, beer battered brussels sprouts, she crab bisque and the mac and cheese were really yummy.
Our biggest complaint about or meal was how long we waited from ordering to service--easily 45 minutes. Then, once the food came, one of our items was missing (due to a printing error we were told) and that came out even later. Our late lunch turned into a mid-afternoon snack.
What could have been a casual, fun, delicious small plates lunch was just tainted by the lengthy service. Wasn't our server's fault. We noted many tables waiting for food to come from the kitchen. A shame.
George W Vanderbilt and Edith would be proud. I’ve never had a bad meal on the Estate. The pork chop was phenomenal and accompanied by an equally excellent glass of red wine. Keep up the good work!
Scallops were above average. Frogmore Stew average. Two burgers ordered well done were rare. Two $18 burgers, that if even if they were cooked as ordered wouldn’t be worth $18. Garlic Parmesan fries were just your average food service fries, no garlic and no Parmesan. Server was not attentive, by the time they returned to table all other members of the party were nearly done with their meal. For a restaurant of this “caliber” you shouldn’t need to flag down a server. The only beverages we were served were the pre-dinner cocktails. Considering a runner brought the food, we never had an opportunity to order additional beverages. Typical overpriced resort/hotel food, will never return.
A wonderful end to a fantastic day! Food, Service, and Atmosphere were all excellent! Look forward to returning.
There are plenty of choices from soup to small plates to big mains and our server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of very healthy options. My crab cake was particularly delicious. There was live music (a guitar player who sang) very close to our table, but while the volume was a bit loud the music was pleasant.
Overall we felt we had been very well served and we (myself and two adult daughters) enjoyed the dinner very much.
Our overall experience was great. We were able to get a reservation at the time we needed, and glad there were a few options other than seafood, as one in our party doesn't like it. We had the chicken and were very happy. The Cheese Board was AMAZING! So happy. And our server was awesome. I think her name was Jenna.
Food was very good with excellent presentation. Desserts were to die for.
We were a party of five. We had the she crab bisque, seafood fondue, crab cake sandwich and the prime rib sandwich. Everything was delicious. I was glad we had made a reservation as it was a very crowded Saturday.
Aside from being seated in the corridor opposite the kitchen and bar, and the noise level, the restaurant was great. Our server was amazing and made excellent recommendations. The food was superb. Again, my only complaint is that it was loud and I wasn't happy about the seating location but perhaps I'm just old.
This restaurant is fabulous! The food was outstanding!
The food was delicious. It was a great place to unwind after a hectic day of touring.
This restaurant was a total surprise to me. I've stayed at the Hotel 4 times and never tried Village Social. We wanted something different and took the elevator down a floor. Wow! So happy we did. The grilled oysters were amazing. I had the grouper and my friend had the Frogmore stew. We really enjoyed the dining experience. Highly recommend.
We split a crab cake sandwich and a hamburger. The crab cake sandwich was very good, but neither of us liked the hamburger. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very nice.
Service was okay. Kind of slow. Food was pretty good.
Food and service was fantastic. Very noisy that night. Would highly recommend
Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
My fish wasn’t cooked properly. Had dined here before and was great for breakfast. Wouldn’t recommend dinner.
We ordered steaks and the meat was not as tender as we would have liked so that is why it didn’t receive 5 stars.
Margarita was probably the nest I’ve had in a long time though!!!
The food was cold and overpriced. Nothing special.
Excellent service, interesting cocktails and delicious food!!
Food was good, Brussel sprouts were not what we expected.
