Wellington's Restaurant

While the service and wine selection was very good, the charcuterie board was lackluster, the desserts could use some work, and the filet was absolutely overcooked and cooked unevenly. Nice environment and Jessi was great! Overall nothing spectacular from the food.

The menu was a covid menu, it doesn't take anymore to prepare any thing on the menu now than it used to. I have been there many times. I won't be back until they can put out a decent menu.

The limited Covid-19 menu is very disappointing! But the atmosphere is still great.

Food was delicious and the restaurant was lovely.

Proposed to my girlfriend here just recently.
Food was GREAT, albeit a bit pricey, but the staff was very, very good.

Great food service and atmosphere

The food was absolutely fantastic and our server, Jared was amazing. It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary!

Bar service was slow. The online menu had a more extensive dinner menu than what was available and no soups were available. I ordered a caesar which was good but I really missed having anchovies, also not available. Desert time came and we ordered cheesecake from the menu but they were out. The beef tips were good though on the sweet side. We were disappointed overall.

Great food

Food quality compared to price is bad. Service is horrible. Better have a snack before you go because it will be a while until you eat. Craft cocktails are amazing but really slow. Order your next drink when your first one comes.

All in all, a very pleasurable experience. The bar area with its fireplace, dark woodwork and an extensive list of whiskeys and knowledgeable bartenders was outstanding. The ambiance extends to the dining area. The wait staff was attentive but not overbearing. The food was very good but not exceptional. Only critical observation (and it is merely my opinion) is the menu seemed a bit limited...specifically, I would like a few more entrees from which to choose. I will absolutely visit again when in the area and recommend to others.

Was surprised that the chef wouldn't blacken the catfish. Only served it deep fried. The meal was prepared well, just disappointed the chef was unable to make the adjustment.

Best steak I've had in a LONG time!

Service was slow, it was 10 mins before our waiter even gave us water
Pecan Brussels sprouts were burnt, dry and tasteless
Steak was ok imo, but I would have thought for the price it should have been excellent
Not worth the money overall

We were a little reluctant to visit here after poor service a few years ago on Valentine's Day, but were pleasantly surprised that the service level was much improved. Both the filet and the catfish were delicious as were the sides. Would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice evening dinner.

Had a reservation and we were seated immediately which is great. Ordered the cheese and charcuterie board which was excellent. We also had salads. Ordered the 8 oz Filet and the NY Strip ... both ordered as medium rare. It took 1.5 hours to get our entrees — half an hour after salads. When we got the steaks they were well done ... medium well at best. The server didn’t check on the meal for at least 15 minutes. I told him about it and said I wasn’t sending it back.

Reason I didn’t send it back was because I didn’t want to wait another hour to get the meal I ordered. Service was mediocre.

We are local transplants to the area and wanted to try the restaurant. I won’t be back. There are other places for upscale food and farm to table food that are much better at service, food, and overall dining experience. To me every customer experience should be treated as a first impression. I wasn’t impressed.

We were there to celebrate our 50 anniversary. It was very noisy. I was disappointed that the filet had several foods the same color and was not as attractive as in the past. I like to have colorful vegetables with my meal. Potatoes and cauliflower were same color and meat was brown with brown glaze.

There was no complimentary dessert for our celebration. That was a disappointment.

Relaxing, classy, enjoyable great drinks

Remembered this place from 10 years ago. Wanted to try it again to see if it was as good as we remembered. It totally was!

Food was lacking

Beautiful dining room with excellent bar service and food. I can’t pass up the Shrimp and Grits. Loved the chocolate torte also.

Excellent our favorite restaurant in Johnson City!

Best steak ive ever had! It was covered in a delicious wine sauce, cooked to perfection, and had nearly no fat to leave behind. Our server was fantastic. She was attentive but not overly interruptive. The restaurant is gorgeous, romantic, and quiet. We were married at Carnegie and returned to Wellington's to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We now plan to return every year.

Great place to celebrate our anniversary! Food and service were exceptional.

We went for brunch on my birthday. Petite filet was cooked perfectly. Coffee was excellent. Little details like real half & half and good butter made a big impact. Servers all very friendly.

Good food and ambience but limited menu. Bar service was excellent but slow.

Service was horrible ... very slow and it was t because they were too busy. Our waitperson spent plenty of time with her friends at the table next to us. It’s a shame because food and ambience was good.

Service was not good at all and it was extremely loud. The menu has been the same for many years and is limited and very fattening. I got one of the few semi-healthy options (quinoa and avocado wrap) and it was pretty rough. Very southern influenced cooking, so if that’s not your thing this isn’t a good restaurant.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent evening at Wellington’s. The atmosphere is second none in Johnson City. Our food was cooked to our liking and we had a wonderful and memorable time. We will definitely be returning.

We recently "discovered" Wellington's and it has become our favorite "go to" restaurant for special occasions. The food is delicious, the ambience delightful . . . and all is enhanced by our excellent server, Sarge . . who makes a great experience even greater! Kudos to all!

Very enjoyable evening. We were really not in a hurry and the service person was not intrusive. However when we wanted her, she was not always visible. I think that she had too many tables to take care of at one time. Did check in to see how everything was going.

We went to Wellington’s on Saturday evening. Service was a little slow sonsidering it wasn’t crowded at all. The food was ok but not really as good as we’d hoped. We probably wouldn’t eat here a second time because we wanted a different experience. We expected exceptional service and food and both were average. The restaurant was decorated nicely and the ambience was nice.
