What If... of Hershey
We were disappointed with the greeting we got at the front desk. We had a reservation and was told our table was not ready but would be momentarily. That was fine so we stepped to the side. That hostess left and another lady came and asked us if we were helped. We told her yes and that we were told our table was almost ready. She told us to wait outside the restaurant area in the "lobby" area. We were called to our table 8 - 10 mins later. The young hostess kept saying "you guys" You guys follow me, I'll get you guys water - I feel she should have been schooled better with her manners.
The food was good - nothing to rave about. I got the small portion of the pumpkin ravioli and received 4 ravioli and they were not big. Thank goodness I had also ordered a salad. I guess I should have asked how many ravioli were served with the small portion. I don't think it would have been enough to fill my 4 year old grandson.
I doubt that we will go back to this restaurant.
The What If of Hershey did not disappoint. The food and service was outstanding.
Got there early for our reservation and was seated right away. The restaurant is on the bottom floor of the Howard Johnson. The look of the restaurant is very hip and the area is easy to move around. The drinks were really good. The meals were also. The desert sample was really good.
Loved this restaurant! The food was delicious. Cody our server was very friendly and helpful with our selections! Will definitely visit the next time we're in Hershey, PA.
Really wanted to like this place. It feels like they exist to serve the captive or uninformed guest at the adjoining hotel. As a local, the food was just okay, service pretty slow, and prices higher than warranted. Sorry but this is my second try and will be the last.
This restaurant is a hidden gem that serves outstanding food with excellent service and attention to customers needs. I had veal Osso Bucco that was deliciously prepared and served with mash potatoes and sliced Brussels sprouts. My wife had a pumpkin filled ravioli that was delicious. The wine list was excellent and the service was attentive and friendly. A bit noisy as there was a large group nearby but tolerable. Price was quite reasonable too. An excellent restaurant moderately priced with very good food.
Pasta bolognese dish was pretty boring lacking sauce and body.
A last minute reservation with my husband and daughter and son jn law and my granddaughter. As always, we were not disappointed!
We went here last minute as it was one of the few restaurants with availability on a Saturday night. While the food was pretty good, our service was terrible. It took a long time to be seated, a long time for someone to come for our drink and then food order, a long time for our drinks to come out, FOREVER for our salads to come out, and then a very long time for our meals to finally come out. We were there around 2 hours for only 2 of us to have entrees and a shared dessert. The food was good, and the dessert was very good, but I don't think I would recommend this restaurant to anyone else based on the service and lack of attention.
As always the “What If” does not disappoint! It’s consistency and friendly staff make you feel welcome. The food was excellent and the service was spot on.
The food wasn't bad. Wasn't greeted when arriving, had to look for the hostess. Wasn't the neatest place. Was a bit uncomfortable.
Generally enjoy going to What If, but this time the waitress was curt and a group of people were seated next to us with a dog. I’m alergic to animals and left with a reaction. Can’t believe we were not approached on that, and honestly I don’t want to eat dinner with animals
Excellent variety and preparation. Well done.
Food is well prepared and all items demonstrate a creative flair.
We have been coming to What If ever since it changed names from Spinner’s. Never a disappointment. Food is excellent, dark cozy atmosphere. It is a little loud on weekends but the food makes up for this. The crab dip appetizer is a MUST—-they have been making this for eons, and my wife has tried replicating to no avail. Would love the recipe because it is the best crab dip ever! Keep up the strong work.
Our 20th Wedding Anniversary
Have been there many times & usually the service was great. Not sure if they were short handed for the evening, or if they have cut back on staff. Regardless, did not receive the level of service or attention I have come to expect. Food was wonderful as always.
Friendly service and delicious food.
Service was fast and our server checked on us many times. Food was excellent and portions large.
Well, after pulling up to the Restaurant I was kind of apprehensive. However, once we sat down and started getting plates of food that all changed. This place is proof to not judge a book by its cover. Great food and service.
Food and service were excellent
Great place for a quiet meal
We were celebrating our parents 62nd anniversary. We had a reservation with a party of 8 at 4pm on a Sunday which was when they opened. We were the only table there for the majority of the dinner. I will say the food was excellent. But as far as service, we saw our waitress when she took our order, brought the check and maybe once in between. She wasn't easy to track down so I found the hostess... twice... to refill our water glasses and to give us more bread. For a table of 8 we were served 2 small plates of bread. The hostess was excellent, the waitress not too pleasant. Luckily for her a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill for a party of 8 so I guess she was not too worried about it. I would return but hopefully would have better service next time.
A surprising gem downstairs from a HoJo's! Lovely atmosphere and a menu with character.
Food was amazing. Grapefruit martini delicious. Server was great with my 8yo boys who just wanted to chat about their day. Was able to get a reservation same day without difficuktu
Food was excellent. Server, Amber, was great, water refills slow.
Although they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions of gluten-free, one of our entrees had WAY too much garlic on it, and one of our salads with chicken had a nearly raw chicken breast on it! Our server, Brie, was very friendly and on top of serving us - she was also very shocked to see the raw meat on the salad. However, it was surprising that a manager didn't come over to apologize on behalf of the kitchen staff or to try to accommodate us in any way
The food was REALLY bad. We ordered about 5 small plates plus a salad, kids meal and drinks. It was one of the worst meals we’ve eaten. The restaurant ambiance was pretty poor as well.
Great food! A little dark but no problems!
Very overpriced, food was ok service was fine. Drinks were extremely overpriced- glass of sangria had so much ice in it- after 1 sip the drink was half gone!
Menu very limited and food quality did not match the expense.
The server was young but excellent. He knew the menu and was helpful. The food was excellent.
Sean was our server; great guy. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being annoying. Food was delicious. It is a little loud but I don’t know how you fix that. We will definitely be back. I had heard the food quality had gone down, but was really pleased to see that wasn’t the case.
Always wonderful there it’s a FAVORITE place !!! Never a bad experience!
The restaurant was very nice, and the service was great. Only comment is that the food was rather bland. My filet and my wife’s salmon wild good, but were not seasoned very well at all. Neither were any of the side dishes.
The service was awful. There were only 2 other tables when we arrived. As soon as a large party arrived, we were essentially forgotten about. Our dirty dinner plates sat at the edge of our table for over 15 minutes before they were cleared. Then it took 10 minutes to get a dessert menu. After 20 more minutes of waiting to order our dessert, we just ended up skipping it because it took too long for each step.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was exceptional. Great restaurant to take your clients or just out on for a date night.
The steaks were not anything special. They did not have much flavor. The crabcakes was amazing. Great flavor and ALL meat. Broccoli was a little under cooked, but good quality.
Food and drinks are a great value. Always a good experience
Was so thrilled I reserved a table for 8 and everyone raved about it! An excellent choice! Highly recommend!
Once you got over the location in the bottom of the Howard Johnson it was great. Head down the steps to the restaurant, and the decor is great and the food, drinks, and service were top notch. We had a fabulous meal before a concert at Giant Stadium. I highly recommend the martinis :)
