Excellent dinner experience. Never disappoints!

We had a great time. NYE pre fixe had very quality choices. The rack of lamb was the best I’ve ever had. If you ask for the mint jelly, they have it.

Situated on a quiet, residential street in Spring Lake, this restaurant is classic and elegant. It’s a bit formal and perfect for an elevated experience every day or a special occasion.

It’s so nice in the covid world that you can walk to a resturant and meet up with friends, social distance inside and have a great meal. What a treat!

Food never disappoints

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience as always.

Food was exceptional - we had Lobster Bisque, Salad, Filet and Pork Chop on bone. Everything was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The social distancing was ok - but could have been a bit more spaced out.

Great food and service, and the room was warm and comfortable.

A Spring Lake upscale classic nestled inside the Hewitt Wellington Hotel - professional service with fresh expertly produced local fare - will return 👍

This is the second time my husband and I have celebrated with a dinner at Whispers and it never disappoints. The service and food are great and the setting is just so lovely. We look forward to dining here again in the near future!

Date night was great outdoors on the porch during an unseasonably warm October night. Megan was a great server and took care of us the whole time! Starter crab cakes were delicious! The pesto shrimp pasta and Red Curry Cod special were both exceptional! The chocolate ganache cake with vanilla gelato was a great last taste! Pricey but it’s a BYOB so you will save money on your drinks! Highly recommend - two thumbs up!!

Caught off guard with BYOB...no big deal as they provide you with a source to have wine delivered from local liquor store

Date night

Wow... How nice it is to enjoy a wonderful evening of great service and fine dining after 4 months of eating in restaurant parking lots. Planned a surprise birthday party last week and everything was perfect. The food was amazing, we shared the scallop and squid ink pasta special, lobster crepe the mozzarella Burrata and the salad. All delicious. Two had the pork chop special and said "best they ever had", and a filet that was also cooked perfectly. Lastly three had the poached lobster special, which was to die for. Service was impeccable, glad to see that they were able to survive the devastation that the restaurant industry has been through. Can't wait to go back.

This was a wonderful experience and always. With the cold weather coming, we have to decide if we want to dine indoors. We are sincerely thinking about it.

Had our 50th anniversary dinner. We have been here before (2009) and it is still excellent. It was a Thursday night and not crowded (think Covid).Food was excellent.

The lobster special was AMAZING, great food and great location.

The service was spotty. My brother-in-law had to get up twice to pour our wine. The server kept reaching over us to serve which was inappropriate. She should of walked around the table and served mannerly. Otherwise the food was excellent.

Last minute whim as we drove down Parkway. Service, food, atmosphere all top notch. Not having been there before we have no problem adding Whispers to our list of regulars

We had a lot of fruit flys during our meal. Finally the waitress offered us doilies for our wine glasses so the flies couldn’t get in.
My water glass was never refilled and the waitress never knew who had what dish.
The food was good not unbelievable and it is very expensive. We had fun but probably will not go back

Was eagerly anticipating our return to this great restaurant and was not disappointed! Lobster special was incredible!

Food is very good but I do not agree with charging $20 for a bowl of lobster bisque.

Our time there was wonderful as always. And the food is just as excellent as the last time we were there!

The chef has only been there for a few months BUT, my salad was overdressed and the first tuna dish was over cooked. I sent it back and the second try was excellent. We love Whispers and hope they fully recover from COVID when everything gets back to normal (whatever this is going to be!).

Returned to Whispers after a prior excellent experience. Went for my dad’s birthday dinner being taken by my uncle who is a New York foodie, used to going to restaurants fronted by celebrity chefs. He as well as I were not disappointed with my uncle saying it was one of the best meals he has had in years. In this time of covid, the wrap around porch adds charm to the outdoor dining experience. Needless to say, we highly recommend.

My wife ordered lobster bisque and I ordered arugula salad for appetizers. The lobster bisque was great. The arugula salad was supposed to be served with fresh peaches. The peaches were awful, dried out with no flavor. We then ordered a filet Mignon and a strip steak for dinner. Two filet mignon dinners were delivered. When I asked the waiter what happened, he copped an attitude and made it sound like I was the one mistaken. After some discussion, he then offered to make the meal I ordered. What should have happened next was for my wife’s dinner to be kept warm while mine was being prepared. Again, very disappointing. At that point, I was done. I tried to get his attention several times to tell him to forget the strip steak and I was ignored. Now mind you, there are only 4-5 tables on the porch and there were 2 wait staff. 25 minutes later, after my wife was done eating, the strip steak arrived. At that point, I told him that I was not going to eat it. He then gets belligerent all over again. Bad day for Whispers. Very disappointing. My wife’s review of the filet mignon was over peppered and the bed of potatoes were grated, which was not very appealing. So a C minus on the filet. We were expecting a very high end dinner based on the website and the reviews. What we found was a beautiful porch but with cobwebbed light fixtures with their very own tenants... one spider the size of a quarter hanging above an occupied neighboring table. Ugh. No thanks.

Wonderful dining experience. Food was superb, service was excellent and a cozy , comfortable atmosphere.
