We all enjoyed the W.H. atmosphere, food, and GREAT service very much!
We will definitely go back! Our waitress was Arianna. She was pleasant and very accommodating. We will ask for her next time we dine there!
The owners have done a wonderful job
making the Winsor House an impressive place to visit! Thank you. See you again soon.
We had a great meal in the Carriage House. The food was very good and the service was excellent!
Really enjoyed it!
Wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. Perfect in every way....including the entertainment!
The Windsor House is absolutely perfect for a cozy winter evening! We requested a warm spot in the reservation request and were seated in a nice corner right next to the fireplace! Perfect!
We loved our appetizer of home made chips and roasted onion dip. Drinks were good - wish the Cranberry Mules were served in the traditional copper mug, but no big deal. Wine special was quite good.
Our server was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed. She was not consistently attentive and when our dinner arrived we waited to get the hostess attention for a steak knife. Also waited too long for drink refills and water was not ever replenished. This is a big deal for me as I drink a lot of water with any meal from beginning to end.
Entrees were good. I had the pan seared salmon with rice. It was a nice piece of fish. The rice was nothing notable - best part of this dish were the roasted green beans! Husband had the steak frites, which looked great at another table and was, I believe a better cut of meat than this dish usually comes prepared. He said it was salty. I tried it because it looked so good and honestly I don’t know how he finished it was soooo salty!! Too bad the peppercorn sauce wasn’t serviced on the side! Frites were very good. We did not order dessert as we figured it would just take too long and I was totally out of water. Loved the ambiance of this beautiful old place, the power room was pretty and updated with Beekman soap (very nice). I wish the entrees would have been more outstanding. Would return because wine, mixed drinks and app/sides were quite good.
Had a delicious dinner at The Winsor House Fri 1/31/2020! Sat by the fire in the main dining room, such a treat. Kevin was our wonderful server and the food was outstanding!
Lacey was an amazing server. Great food. Really wonderful ambiance.
Great place. The food and service were outstanding. Great value a great experience. I see myself becoming a regular
While the menu isn't hugely extensive, there's pretty much something for everyone and the outcome is invariably a very good evening. The scallops were especially good and the fish tacos and steak frites were excellent.
Another excellent gastronomic experience with great service and atmosphere..... Highly recommended
Very unique atmosphere. Warm and cozy. Had a party of.5 so we enjoyed a round table in the front room by the fireplace. Service was pleasant and we all had a great dinner and time.
Great meal and great service!
Winsor House Inn is a lovely New England building with old world ambiance. Our party of 6 was seated in what turned out to be our own private room at a round table close to the fire. Our server Brooke was friendly and attentive. The cocktails are creative and delicious and the food was very good. I have been here many times and will return.
It was our time at the Windsor House Inn on New Year's Eve. We loved the atmosphere! Despite a limited menu for the holiday, the food was delicious. We will be back soon.
Our party of 4 dined here on New Year’s Eve. The food and service was very good. My only complaint was that since no one in our party drank alcohol, we were not allowed to choose from the prix fixe menu without paying the full price of $80 which included wine at every course. Essentially, we were penalized for not drinking alcohol. Most restaurants will give you that option at a reduced price.
The moment we walked in the door we were greeted with the best service. The food, ambiance, and service were wonderful.
Disappointing Christmas Eve dinner! Went here with family for Christmas Eve as mid-week holiday prevented other plans! We expected that if the place was open for Christmas Eve dinner there would be a festive air - NOT! There were red dishes and glasses on the table and that was it! Food was ok but nothing I would return for and staff seemed miserable. I wouldn't want to eat in a place like that on a regular night let alone a holiday!
WH you exceeded our expectations.
From the moment we walked in we had a friendly greeting, staff was enthusiastic on making our experience memorable.
Kevin was our server who was terrific.
My wife was a little cold when were seated.
So I asked Kevin if they could turn the heat up a little.
Without hesitation it was done.
Thank you and we look forward to returning with some friends in the near future.
Fantastic meal! One of our “go-to” spots!
The food was excellent. I had steak frites and fries. My only complaint was that the room was cold but that's to be expected I guess given the age of the building and old windows.
We went to the Winsor House Inn for Thanksgiving dinner as first time customers at this establishment. The Inn was very cozy and quaint. The Inn presented a buffet for their Thanksgiving dinner with several choices. All the food however was lukewarm to cold with the exception of one side, the brussel sprouts, which were over cooked and mushy. Given the price of the meal one would hope that their dinner would be served hot, at least more than lukewarm. Speaking of the price, we felt we paid too much for what was served. We won't be returning next year.
We had a great server and the restaurant was the perfect setting for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was good, but there were no entrees for vegetarians.
Thanksgiving buffet was bountiful. The food couldn’t have been fresher and hot. The turkey was very moist. The only downside is the restaurant is small and when the room was full you couldn’t get around tables to get back to the buffet table. Better table design and people pushing in their chairs would have been more helpful to others diners. Would definitely go back. Best food we have had eating out for Thanksgiving.
Overpriced for quality of food. Server was extremely erratic and could not be found at times. Never stopped to ask if everything was ok. Never filled water glasses and waited forever to have bill presented.
Would not rush back for such small portions.
Absolutely loved our experience Saturday evening. If you are looking for a place with great food, great service and friendly people that truly are happy you are there, then this is a place you need to check out.
Save room for the Bread Pudding....mmmmm so good!!
Comfortable, casual environment, nice menu, great food and excellent service.
The lobster ravioli was made to perfection and the mashed potatoes a must! Service was great. Fried haddock was good but didn’t like the tartar sauce, the mayo was overriding the flavor but other than that everything else was great!! Great birthday dinner with great apps. Oh also had the maple bourbon bread pudding for dessert and tried the chocolate molten lava brownie with icecream, they were both absolutely delicious!!
Delicious food, delightful service. Fantastic evening!
Lovely venue with awesome outdoor dining ambiance! Staff always attentive. Food great! Family or adult time this is a great place!
Wonderful place to eat in Duxbury for many years. Great menu, wine selection and ambiance.
Nothing special, maybe some background music would have been nice. Just average, food was fine nothing beyond average.
Tonight was not a great night. Hannah, our server was very nice and took care of us. The issue was some of the food, which we had not experienced before. My wife ordered the ribeye medium rare. What came out, for $38, was an extremely thin maybe a half inch of meat that was well done put on a glomp of mashed potatoes with about 8 string beans. Hannah took it back to have them refire and when it did come out it was just too rare to eat. Of course we kind of expected this as how do you cook such a thin piece of meat other than barely cooked or well done. It also was a pretty unattractive plate. We sent it back. Ordered just the taco appetizer so she would have something to eat. The appetizer was comped and Hannah handled it all very well. Too bad as the striped bass was delicious and very pleasing to the eye, as was the salmon. The fried chicken was served on the glomp of mashed potatoes as well and really did not look that eye appealing and was overdone and dry.
We have had good meals there before but this one was mediocre other than the fish dishes. If you are serving s boneless ribeye steak give a better cut especially thicker and better cut of meat, even if you charged a few bucks more. Honestly I felt it looked worse than something you would probably get at a longhorn steakhouse, even though I have never been to one.
Expensive lobster roll thot was dripping with mayonnaise, resulting in a soggy bun and a mess.
We were sat in a dark room during a sunny afternoon where the waitstaff continuously walked by every minute or so. Our waiter was really shy, which was fine, but service was very slow. There was live music in the bar area, and an outdoor patio which probably would have been a lot better to sit at!
Excellent service from start to finish. My wife thought the scallops were the best she's had on the South Shore. Looking foreward to returning.
Excellent experience as always! Oysters served promptly and properly chilled. Appetizers were fantastic- Poke is fresh! Waited a while to get the fish tacos - server said kitchen was the issue.
New server was still in learning stages but was upbeat, smiled and was friendly.
We will return!
yes-food was absolutely delicious and service was great-wanted a table outside but that was not an option in open table so we did not get one
Very inexperienced server. Pleasant but...No place settings, brought someone else’s bill at end.
Otherwise very nice. Outdoor setting very pleasant.
Love sitting on your patio! We come for dinner often and I order the Steak Frites regularly. Sadly the quality of the steak has gone down both in terms of the way it’s prepared and the size of the cut. Not sure why I can’t get the med rare plus doneness I request. This piece was quite well done!! Also, this time I believe there was a different green used to top the dish. I’m a creature of habit and preferred the original.
