Wolfgang's Steak House - Waikiki Beach
Bring both your appetite and wallet. Huge portions worth every penny. Service is top shelf. Best place in Waikiki for that special dinner.
Jeff, our server was really "on the ball", professional, friendly and efficient. Drinks, fresh oysters & crab cake, rib eye & porterhouse were to die for ono!
They gave us a great table with a nice view. The service was great, food was good, only hiccup was the wine list was not quite up to date with post Corona times. Overall made for a very nice evening.
Anniversary meal and service was perfect!!
Food was subpar and service was slow
The restaurant delays 45’ our reservation the service was really very bad!!
Gross,STAY AWAY, Gross. Resoz were at 9:30 had to wait till 9:45 which understandable they were busy!Sat down waiter offered a special 2 glasses of champ plus steak $150 but they stop serving alch @10,so we would have to chug it,I’m like Noo thank you we don’t drink plus we def not chugging champagne in front of ppl.He replied really good deal sir should I bring it out.Replied to him Still going to be a NO!ordered and waited for 1hr17mins for my veal medium well.Came out drowned in butter and rare,Nvr stopped by to ask if it was done to my liking.ate my mac&lobstwr which was drier than Vegas!asked for my bill he noticed steak was left untouched, removed it off my bill. YAY! basically been to many many steak houses, from nyc to Moscow, from LA to Hongkong this one wins the worst award! Def would not go back def will not recommend and advise you ppl to stay away. Overpriced and poor quality but great location if you don’t want to walk over couple of blocks to Hy’s steak house. STAY AWAY!
The waiting time for the first drink was 25 minutes. Then the sirloin steak we received was full of grizzle but more than that it smelt and tasted off.
A few bites and confirmation from my partner we both confirmed the steak was foul tasting and had a rancid taste.
The waiter was no where to be found to complain and when the check arrived we were so disgusted with the experience we paid up and left.
I had reservations. Still I waited one hour to be seated
We had a very bad experience at Wolfgang’s. The steak was awful especially the sirloin side. Our crab cake, potato and asparagus were ok but the steak was disgusting.
Fantastic food and service!
We had a great meal and experience at Wolfgang’s New Years Eve. Everything was wonderful
NY Eve Dinner. Crowded, busy, loud. Got sat right away. Then proceeded to sit 5+ minutes without being greeted or given water. Waiter dropped menus off without so much as a word. After more than 10 minutes, waiter said “give me 45 seconds”. 2-3 minutes later he walked up all cutesy and proud of himself saying “43, 44, 45”. Any restaurant charging the obscene Waikiki tourist prices they do, should be able to provide a warm greeting within 1-2 minutes of being sat. Service somewhat improved from the very rocky start, but not enough to make up for the rude indifference. After finishing our food, our plates sat in front of us for 5-10 minutes. I did the unthinkable - I started stacking them because I don’t want to look at food remnants when my meal is finished. A manager finally noticed and cleared the table. The food is pretty good, not great. Truly jumbo sized shrimp! But a little rubbery. Giant portion of steamed asparagus, but undercooked. Steak was tasty, though I am not quite sure I’d call it rare as we ordered it. Food runner even looked a little nervous dropping it off, but I reassured him at least the center looked red and we’d be okay. He visibly sighed with relief. We ordered a nice bottle of Turley Juvenile, mark-up was pretty insane (2.75x retail), but tolerable if you are reviewing the level of service you’d expect from Wolfgang’s. We did not. Super disappointed locals who will leave Wolfgang’s for the tourists. You would have thought they’d want to win over Kama’aina with the current tourism numbers, but maybe their pockets are deep.
Eh. Was not impressed. My expectations may have been misplaced after reading the reviews. I rarely leave a negative review but Wolfgang’s earned it.
I love this restaurant, always a great experience. The oysters are fresh the martinis are done very nicely and the stakes are very juicy.
Our server was great we don’t eat diary so he was very accommodating and informative. The service and food was perfect such a pleasurable date night.
Everything went well the food was great it’s one of the best steak we had except the first thing they give us the bread but the butter was hard. They forgot my wine that I ordered. But overall it was a great experience.
The staff was superb. Glad my nephews and I were able to enjoy the evening over a delicious meal.
The service and food was excellent. We each ordered the ribeye and shared sides of spinach, mushrooms and lobster Mac and cheese.
Great food! Great service! Definitely a fun place to go!
Steak was severely undercooked (asked for medium, it came nearly raw inside), took 15 minutes until a bartender took my order (after I had reserved a table and filled out contact tracing forms) - my waiter was oblivious and didn’t approach my table until after 20 minutes. He didn’t check on my experience with the food, brought out plain instead of garlic mashed potatoes like I had ordered. The tap water was extremely full of fluoride and tasted like it came out of the ocean (I’ve dined at other restaurants in the vicinity that had completely normal tasting tap water). When handing me the check, he said sarcastically “thanks for dealing with us.” This was hands-down the worst steak and steakhouse experience I’ve ever had at this level.
First our reservation was cancelled on Christmas day we had no idea. We barely got waited on..
Rating would be 0/5 if available. My wife and I eat out 5-6 days a week, so have a fair tolerance for when things don’t go just right. We ate here for Christmas dinner and scheduled plenty in advance, knowing it’s a busy day. We had an 8PM reservation and arrive at about 7:50. When we arrived at the host stand, the restaurant was empty inside and there was a large crowd standing outside. I told the hostess reservation for my name. She then asked do you have a reservation. I repeated reservation for my name. She then said great, what is your name for the reservation? After a third time of explaining she said it will just be a few minutes. We waited over 30 minutes and were eventually told they had violated COVID distancing protocols the night before and could not open until 24 hours from the time of the violation at 8:22 the night before. They announced at 8:25 that people could begin coming in, with no names called or system to process the large crowd outside. It was a mad rush to get it. We eventually made it to our seats and got settled a bit after 8:30. The servers were nice and tried their best to get things on track. Bottle of wine ordered was a 2015 and a 2017 came without notice they didn’t have the vintage we ordered. We didn’t complain and rolled with it. We ordered our steak medium plus and it came rare to medium, with only outside pieces being able for my wife to consume. The hot plates that normally comes to help cook to your own liking don’t exist since the plates were cold by the time the steak made it. We didn’t complain. Finally we were about half way done with our bottle of wine and were told last call is at 10PM so order if we wanted anything else. We ordered two port wines to have with desert and took our time to start on the rest of the wine. Someone then came by to take our two full glasses of wine from the bottle as well as the two port wine glasses that hit the table 5 minutes before. What a disaster!!!!!!!!
Had a reservation but they turned us away at the last minute claiming "mayor shut down the restaurant".
Even though we had a reservation for Christmas Eve dinner they didn’t respect our table, the say they had issues because they didn’t respect the social distance requirement and authorities shut them down, the restaurant wall full but they wasn’t supposed to accept any additional customer... didn’t give us any extra explanation about or try to compensate at all... just let my wife and I with out a Christmas Eve dinner in our honeymoon... terrible experience...
Giving this my worst review since we were denied entry when we made a reservation. The reason was because something about the alcohol administration setting a curfew (30 mins after our reservation) and the way they explained it was nonchalant. I don’t mind adhering to the rules but it would have been nice to get a communication about it PRIOR to arriving.
Food was terrible. Had the seafood appetizer , lobster mac n cheese, german potatoes, sauteed broccoli. It was barely above cafeteria standards. I'm very surprised. My first time eating here and the food preparation quality was way below the price point. I know I didn't eat the meat, but the sides have to be up to par too. On meat - my friend got the lamb chop and it was clear that it was very raw, not a medium rare. Clearly the food preparation techniques aren't there.
Good food but pricey. We went on the day that someone complained about social distancing and the liquor commission shut them down for 24 hours do fortunately we were able to enjoy our meal.
It was a fair experience because the waitstaff did a very poor job. It was a busy evening, however when paying the prices for dining out, I expect a high level of service. The waiter had no time to explain certain items on the menu or properly advice us on proportions. We had way too much food for 3 petite women and it took a very long time to receive our meal.
I've been to Wolfgang's on 4 occasions before, this might have been my last!
Restaurant was chaotic and very crowded, almost all the tables were full and none were socially distanced. It was Christmas Eve and instead of showing restraint and limiting reservations it looked like they tried to pack as many people as they could. It appeared no different than before the corona virus. Food was quite good and service was a bit lax but decent, despite the kitchen being a bit slow. However, considering how crowded it was, packed with people despite how they should have distanced all of us... I will probably not return.
The seating in the front of the restaurant was socially distant but they took us to the back which was not. We were a party of four and the wanted to sit us at a table jammed into a corner where we could literally touch the party next to us. We asked for a different table and the hostess said the other table was for reservations and I told her we had a reservation she just looked at me confused and said she’d go check. She came back and said follow me back to the front which we did. A manager showed us to our table which was socially distant and we sat down. He said thanks for understanding. Our servers were excellent and the steaks were good. The sauce on the fish was mucky but other than that it was a good meal. We live on island and always celebrate dinner out during the holidays but we feel Hy’s Steakhouse is a better value and experience
There was no social distancing between tables. I was literally sitting a foot away from the next table. I would take a picture but I don't want to make the other person on the table feel uneasy. We would ask to move but all of the tables were taken. Looks like this steakhouse only wants to make the money and not care about safety for their customers. It is so loud with people over talking each other. This is the loudest steakhouse I ever been at. The chopped salad was ok but I don't think it was worth $15.00. The filet mignon had no taste and the sauce to did it in was very salty. The asparagus was under cooked at the stalk end and they left the white part on instead of cutting it off. Waiters did not come around to ask if everything was ok. Won't be coming back again!! So sad. Wanted to have a great anniversary dinner. O well.
Christmas eve dinner experience was very poor, even in mind that the night would be busy.
1. After seated and provided menu and bread, after no service for 30 minutes decided to ask for service through the hostess. Service came after another 15 minutes.
2. Crab cake taste was good, but had shell in it and my wife had to cough it out.
3. Ordered medium rare rib eye steak, was served medium well steak with a medium rare tab on the top. Didn't have them redo it due the the slow service.
4. Ordered red wine with the steak, but told me they were out of what I ordered 90 minutes after, provided me with a wine menu but never had the chance to order until dessert, which doesn't make sense.
5. Requested a straw 4 times to finally receive one, once when seated, second time when ordering food, third when meal delivered, last when ordering dessert.
6. The check had an extra order of rice (which we didn't order, the table next to us did), which took approximately 30 minutes to correct and pay.
The waiters tried to help each other with the busy night, I have 3 different people serving me, but still with a $200+ price tag dinner, the experience was unpleasant.
Great food and service in Waikiki! I enjoyed lunch with friends, social distancing was appropriate and welcome.
Great service as always!
The food was amazing our server was amazing I had the most amazing time with my family there and I would highly recommend this place
Happy hour menu with most items not available
Great fresh bread and onion rings
One of the worst steakhouses I’ve ever been to. They moved my plate out from under me while I was eating, moved my personal belongings without asking and attempted to take away my dinner multiple times while I was still working on it. The food was pretty bad as well.
We enjoyed lunch at Wolfgang's a few days ago - we are so happy the restaurant is open again and loved the outdoor garden seating until the mall construction noise drove us inside (temp situation). Our service provider was exceptional and really made our time at Wolfgang's a wonderful experience. I had salad with petit filet - it was outstanding. The meat was out of this world, and the side of bernaise was a brilliant suggestion by our server. My husband had the fish and chips which was also delicious, but after too much Italian bread and butter and yummy signature fresh potato chips, my husbands appetitive couldn't stand up to the richness of the fried food - so recommend you leave your belly empty until this plate is served ;-). We can't wait to return to our long time fave, go-to restaurant option for Happy Hour. Thanks to the fabulous service team!
