It was really nice
Best Calamari !!!!!
My favorite place in The area. They are trying very hard, harder then most to comply with all the rules due to COVID. But eating outside was just too cold to enjoy on metro seats. They need cushions and more heaters to be enjoyed. But I try to go once a week to support these hard working folks.
Second time back in 2-ish weeks. Still excellent. Steak Tartar was perfect & portioned beautifully, served with homemade potato chips that complimented the dish’s flavor. The potato soup brought a smile to my companion’s lips. The perfectly baked flatbread-style pizza is infused with a delicious & gentle onion taste and never fails to please.
Our server(I think Scott) was a total pro. As always, the cocktails are prepared with attention & finesse. Really starting to fall in love with WOOD. Especially, as for us, it’s a neighborhood joint. Until the next time...
We thank the whole team at WOOD.
Always great food and excellent service. Could use more meatless options for their large plates.
Super friendly service, really good food (we love the burger) and just a good neighborhood vibe. We will be back.
Good food, slow service
Wood has reclaimed it’s kitchen. The menu is lively and interesting. Our server was excellent and knew the menu. He was very attentive and has a very amiable demeanor.
My wife’s chicken was moist and flavorful. My steak tartare was one of the best I’ve had. The flatbread pizza was really just about perfect. We also shared a sashimi app was was great.
Can’t believe we have such a special place in the neighborhood finally. Looking forward to our next visit.
Thanks Wood. Your efforts are very much appreciated.
I go to this restaurant every week. I highly recommend it!!
This is a wonderful place for a solid upper scale meal for a more reasonable price. If you want to spend top dollar this is not the correct location, but if you want an upper/middle scale eating experience with well crafted cocktails, and a limited but perfected menu, this is the right spot.
Had the best time! The patio is spacious and very quaint.
Orichette pasta was horrible, couldn't eat it, Black pepper accidently poured into it we thought? Brocolli raw, flavors didn't merge. Sausage small pieces no flavor. Hamburger came out extremely salty and overcooked, Had to return both of these dishes. Pasta replaced with the Chicken dish cooked to perfection. Hamburger #2 came out perfect!
Appetizer of calamari and flatbread were two of the best dishes ever! Server was patient and gave great service!
Lovely patio and very nice service. Food was expensive and disappointing. Pasta with breadcrumbs on top that simply made it taste as if it was burned. Really good homemade ranch dressing on the fried green tomatoes but the breading overpowered everything else. Portions were very small. Will not go back.
A great outdoor dining experience! Service was great, food was wonderful.
Excellent meal, fantastic service and wonderful atmosphere. Colin as a server was funny, accommodating, knowledgeable, and efficient. We very much enjoyed our time at Wood and will absolutely be back.
Amazing food, service, and drinks. No doubt one of the best places in lakeview!!
It was a decent place to share a meal with friends.
We went for Dining for Life and Jeremiah was wonderful with us. Great experience.
Consistently delicious food and amazing service that keeps you coming back time and time again. One of my favorite restaurants in the city!
Excellent food, great wine choice and great service.
Had the burger and it just melt in my mouth. Recommend the food
They had an off night. I've been there when it's good. But this time it was bad.
Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Wood. The fried tomatoes and corn dumplings were simply delicious. The service was perfect, attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommend!
We are so happy Wood is back offering Brunch on Sundays again!!!
Wood is consistently outstanding and the new brunch menu is on point. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed.
We will definitely return to Wood. Our service was outstanding and the food delicious.
I had the pork for the first time on Saturday, it was delicious! Great combo with the Negroni!
Everything started out wonderful...nice table, friendly server, hungry and excited to try a new place. Our server suggested we order everything at once so the meals can be spaced out but we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for anything to come out while others around us were served their food. That was frustrating but we were patient. All food was good except for one "large plate" that was very underwhelming and bland. I was surprised by that. Our server was gracious and recognized the wait and comped us free drinks which was a nice gesture. Overall, it was nice to try a new place but I don't think we'll go back.
Great cocktails, and even better food. If you’re looking for great food and a good variety of it don’t go straight to someplace in River North just because that’s where the “nice” places are. Wood blew us away. Pro tip: Get the tomahawk ribeye, even to share...Trust me, just do it.
We loved Scott! He was friendly and very attentive! Food was over the top!
Great cocktails, flavorful food and a lively atmosphere while implementing social distance.
Loved the charcuterie & cheese board. Roasted Peach sorbet was fantastic!
Great ambience. Amazing menu. A fun classy restaurant
A nice night; good service and great food
awesome!!! so accommodating
Great food and excellent service!
Only damper was the bday celebration tables of 4 and 4 next to us
I know all restaurants are struggling with COVID restrictions right now, but those who’ve reopened and are trying to weather the storm need to be always on their “A” game. Hadn’t been to Wood in almost a year, and was rather disappointed from previous visits. We were never asked if we wanted bread, octopus appetizer was rather chewy, clean silverware was not brought out for entrees (in fact waiter told us to keep the dirty forks). Overall a very so-so dining experience. This was always my favorite boystown restaurant too. Sad that it seems to be headed in the wrong direction.
Really good. One of those great restaurants you wish existed in every neighborhood.
