Food. was outstanding. It was the first night of 25% capacity indoor dining so I’m sure the service suffered a bit from staffing. Overall, a very good experience.

While it was freezing outside, the restaurant did offer blankets which was really nice. However, our food was cold and subpar for the price. The only item I would not recommend is the mushroom soup — it was like a microwavable Marsala sauce that needed 3 more minutes of heating to be somewhat warm.

The host/server was very accommodating to me because I made an indoor reservation and he sat us outside at first, which was way too cold and uncomfortable so I asked to be moved inside and he allowed us. The drinks were divine and nice and cold. We took our time ordering cause it was my partners birthday and this was our first time out to a restaurant since March after covid hit. We ordered two entrees. My partner ordered the Catalpa Grove Pork Duo, his plate came out very dry and pretty sad looking for this restaurants capabilities from past visits. The pork loin was very dry and hard. The sauce that came with it did not help all to make it even a little juicy The sausage was basic and just meh and the cabbage didn't fit in with the plate, should have been more of a bacon/sausage filling instead of tuna onion mix. I ordered the Coq au Vin which I will admit I couldn't pronounce haha. The sauce was divine and the chicken was to die for but the risotto was not done and was very chewy and hard like raw rice. We didn't complain about the food because we were happy to be out and celebrating his birthday and being inside a rr for the first time in months. I am only leaving this review because I think the owner should know that everything but a few food items were wonderful and of course we will be back, but probably when the menu changes and we can sit inside without masks again.

Outstanding food and service. Management is the best here! Even the host went over the top to bring my wine while we waited for a safe outdoor seat! Wonderful food, unforgettable bolognese with papardelle pasta dish!!!! Best pinot noir by the glass anywhere BOEN!!!!

Love Wood! A bit pricey for some items but all around a great dinner. The outdoor patio is well heated!

What a tasty Sunday Brunch! The omelet was delicious and the mimosa was great. We appreciated the spacing outdoors the heaters kept it very comfortable. We'll be back!

The steak tartare is possibly the best version of this dish that I have ever tasted.
My date's chicken was beautiful. Skin browned just to the right amount of crisp and the meat, moist & tender.
My martini was perfect and the wine delicious.
The ginger ice cream with a honey(I believe it was honey) drip was a fantastic end to a lovely evening.
Mark(Tuna) treated us like treasured old friends.

These are trying times and it is so comforting to be able to visit Wood, and for a few moments, at least, leave the chaos of the world behind. Thank you to all at Wood.

Servers are top-notch. Totally in-tune to hospitality standards and expectations. Collin and Mark get superior/excellent ratings. Mixologists: Marco and Linda know there wine complexities, and pairings with plates. Management Jeremiah has very apparent depth and experience in dining/culinary/hospitality arenas.

My favorite place in The area. They are trying very hard, harder then most to comply with all the rules due to COVID. But eating outside was just too cold to enjoy on metro seats. They need cushions and more heaters to be enjoyed. But I try to go once a week to support these hard working folks.

Good cocktails

Second time back in 2-ish weeks. Still excellent. Steak Tartar was perfect & portioned beautifully, served with homemade potato chips that complimented the dish’s flavor. The potato soup brought a smile to my companion’s lips. The perfectly baked flatbread-style pizza is infused with a delicious & gentle onion taste and never fails to please.
Our server(I think Scott) was a total pro. As always, the cocktails are prepared with attention & finesse. Really starting to fall in love with WOOD. Especially, as for us, it’s a neighborhood joint. Until the next time...

Good food, slow service

Wood has reclaimed it’s kitchen. The menu is lively and interesting. Our server was excellent and knew the menu. He was very attentive and has a very amiable demeanor.
My wife’s chicken was moist and flavorful. My steak tartare was one of the best I’ve had. The flatbread pizza was really just about perfect. We also shared a sashimi app was was great.
Can’t believe we have such a special place in the neighborhood finally. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is a wonderful place for a solid upper scale meal for a more reasonable price. If you want to spend top dollar this is not the correct location, but if you want an upper/middle scale eating experience with well crafted cocktails, and a limited but perfected menu, this is the right spot.

Had the best time! The patio is spacious and very quaint.

Orichette pasta was horrible, couldn't eat it, Black pepper accidently poured into it we thought? Brocolli raw, flavors didn't merge. Sausage small pieces no flavor. Hamburger came out extremely salty and overcooked, Had to return both of these dishes. Pasta replaced with the Chicken dish cooked to perfection. Hamburger #2 came out perfect!
Appetizer of calamari and flatbread were two of the best dishes ever! Server was patient and gave great service!

Lovely patio and very nice service. Food was expensive and disappointing. Pasta with breadcrumbs on top that simply made it taste as if it was burned. Really good homemade ranch dressing on the fried green tomatoes but the breading overpowered everything else. Portions were very small. Will not go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Wood. The fried tomatoes and corn dumplings were simply delicious. The service was perfect, attentive but not overbearing. Highly recommend!
