Woodcliff Hotel & Spa - Horizons Restaurant
金曜日 - 土曜日 20:15 - 21:45
The view of the sunset was great as was our server Marco. However, it's an expensive restaurant and wasn't worth the price. The tuna appetizer was tasteless and had veins in it. The broccolini was served cold. The lobster and venison were both good but for that price, each meal should have included one small side.
Very nice place to go. Nice view, delicious food, nice service!
When I reserved the table, for Valentines day, I thought there would have been more than the normal breakfast buffet. I was hoping for an omlette station, meat carving, etc. There was only the standard buffet, which was ok.
They were obviously short staffed. It took almost 3 hours to complete a meal that was less than mediocre. Took about 30 minutes just to get drinks. I understand things happen but the food was not great as well. I even fact was up all night sick from eating the scallops as long as two other people in the party. When we had a table of 5 and a bill
Almost 700 I just wanted better service and better food.
I took my girlfriend to Horizons for lunch on Monday. The food was very disappointing. I ordered the mango curried chicken salad. The portion size was meager. I am not a large eater. It appeared as if they had run out of the salad. I left hungry. My girlfriend ordered the black bean burger. It fell apart and was bland. The portion size on that one was a good size. It was served with a side salad, which was as much as I received for my dish. My chicken salad, what I had of it, was very good tasting, however.
The server was very competent. No issues with ambience or service.
We enjoyed our dinner. However, it took a very long time for our server to greet us, take our order, and deliver our food. On a snowy Sunday night with only three other tables of guests, it's not clear what the delay was.
Had dinner at Horizons on a Friday night. Restaurant was not crowded and we were seated right away. Food was very good with several steak options as well as multiple entrees. Prices are on the expensive side. Service was slow despite the restaurant not being very busy. There was a live band which we enjoyed. The restaurant is nicely decorated with large windows, and the view would likely be very nice during daytime hours.
Great food, great service, beautiful ambiance. The best restaurant in Rochester, NY.
The dinner, drinks and music were excellent along with service. The room was very clean but bland. Adding local wine and events to the hotel folder would give more info. The decor could use something. It would have been helpful to know the hot tub was broke as that was part of the decision to stay. Thank you.
We four had an assortment of the menu choices. One prime rib, which the individual said, was the best she has ever eaten. Two pork cops that were close to 2” thick, but still moist. Both said they were excellent. Finally, I had the Salmon. Perfectly cooked and wonderful flavor. Three bread puddings and a chocolate roll finished the dinner. Our server, Jay Jay, was very knowledgeable about the wines and bourbons requested. He was “available” without hovering. He was very pleasant and had a wonderful sense of humor. We will return.
Ow x fssgf c h b of nu gcjfsryhdv. Thanks for lunch and yes CBC.dfg was great w & lunch
A Perfectly mellow & lovely Sunday breakfast. The buffet was just the right amount of delicious food!
Our waitress was fairly prompt. The food coming out of the kitchen was very slow. Our old fashioned had to be remade but was fine when done so. The band at the bar was too loud for the dining area. The food quality and taste was excellent.
The best restaurant and best food in Rochester, bar none. I dine at Horizons Restaurant once each month. The prices are very reasonable for such a fine dining establishment. You cannot beat the broiled shrimp, scallops and lobster tail, all cooked to perfection. The fingerling potatoes are wonderful. Try the raspberry and lemon sorbet for a refreshing dessert. The ambiance is breathtaking. The seating is so comfortable, you could fall asleep in the chairs. The view of Rochester from the hillside setting is fabulous. The hostess, PK, has been there for many years and is friendly and accommodating. And ask for Jason to be your server. His personality makes the dinner even more memorable.
Overall, it was nice but value and quality was kinda lacking there was no wow factor. There was a huge time between courses shouldn’t take 25 minutes between the soup and salad course. Had to for bread after the salad course and the bread was ho hum. The amount of money for a basic four course meal should taste better and be not just warm when it arrives to the table. I would come back and experience the restaurant on non-holiday. The server was very nice and staff as well. I understand it was holiday and everyone was maybe drained from the long day.
A wonderful Thanksgiving meal.
We were giving the Woodcliff another chance after a bad experience. I thought Thanksgiving would be wonderful. It was terrible. Our service was awful, the food luke warm and the time spent was over 3 hours. We did not get our first course until we were there an hour and 45 minutes. The manager of the restaurant was rude. It was a very bad experience and we will not be going back.
The thanksgiving menu was first class all the way. All four courses were a culinary delight. The service was similar to the top New York City restaurants.
Excellent in all respects. Very notable is the staff. From the valet parking to the servers and bar personnel, thy could not be any more welcoming and helpful.
Waiter, Jay Jay, was great. Food was very good too.
Really loved the restaurant. Our waiter was wonderful (forgot name- from Jamaica!) And the ambiance was excellent. My only reason for not giving 5 stars was the lack of vegan options. The chef was accommodating and I was told I could "make anything I wanted" from the menu, but in this day and age, at a high end restaurant, there should really be a fully vegan option. The food we got was delicious though. Would come back again!
A great choice for a dinner out. Ecellent menu, welcoming environment, good service, and a nice view of our valley. Often overlooked alternative for a night out.
Enjoyed a fabulous evening with my Honey and friends who also stayed at the Woodcliff! Dinner was excellent! The ambiance was elegant! The service was impeccable! Thank you to the staff at The Woddcliff!
Excellent lunch and a very quiet atmosphere. We could actually hear the guest we were treating to lunch.
The experience overall was fine with the restaurant. However, open table allowed me to book a reservation/table for 9:15pm and when I got to the restaurant it was empty. The bartender from across the room came over and said they stop seating at 9pm but I could come to the bar and sit there and still order food. The kitchen was open until midnight. The bar was a bar so nothing special. The food was overpriced but good.
Romantic and pleasurable dining experience for our anniversary. Delicious food and drinks. Welcoming service throughout.
PK is always a welcoming, caring hostess, and Marco did a great job as our server. Food was delicious! Loved the salmon! Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.
Food was wonderful: presentation and the taste! The filet mignon was generously sized; the potatoes au grautin the best ever. Service was attentive, but it took far too long for our tired selves to get served the meal. This was a travel day for all in our party of 4; we decided to dine outside of the hotel on Day #2 because of the slow pace of the meal. But if you are able to go slow and savor, this is a great restaurant.
Food was very fresh, very good, very well prepared. Service was a tad slow because the restaurant was busy. The waitress (Heather) was very good and personal, but she had a very big table and needed some additional assistance. I would definitely recommend to friends!
It was a dinner for our anniversary. We took our two teenage boys (13 and 15) It was first time we were there as a family. It was an excellent choice. We will return often.
Amazing food and atmosphere
Food was good. Felt rushed.
Meh. The lobster bisque was almost cold and the shrimp tacos had too much taco. The view is always excellent but the food didn’t come close. The service was good.
Love the food and the view. The service was excellent. We celebrated our 52 wedding anniversary and will be back soon.
Our overall experience was very good and the food was delicious. The view is amazing and it was the perfect place for an upscale dinner in a location that was not too noisy (however it was a Sunday night for us)... The only downside where the chairs... way too low ... a couple of us had hard time even reaching the table and my mother needed a pillow. Great place for a special night out.
Very relaxing! Food excellent for special occasion.
Food excellent. However, dining room not open until 5:30 and booked on Open Table for 5:15
Marco was our server and he made some excellent recommendations. The potato gratin is amazing and I really enjoyed the creme brulee. The lobster bisque was a little fishy for my taste as well as the crab cake but our steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent!
Very nice we will be back
