This place is a gem! Everything on the menu tastes like it was made specifically for you, not mass produced. The mole sauce is sooo good, the flank steak is done to perfection and whatever sauce they put on the shrimp is to die for. We love that the owner greets you at the door with a smile and assists the attentive wait staff with service. This is our go to restaurant for amazing Mexican food and we have never had a bad experience. Go, eat and and enjoy!!!
The food was not very good. I had the vegetarian tacos (three types, and none of them were great). The Nopales taco was too salty. The squash blossom was lacking in flavor. The potato and peppers were bland.
We took a large group for my daughter’s birthday and the food and service could not have been bettter. The food was excellent and the service was great for a party of 12. Really wonderful dining experience!
Drinks are great, food is just okay. Maybe go for Happy Hour only
The manager wentout of his way to ensue we had a great experience last night.
Great service...and food. Thank you for a nice experience. Hope to be back soon.
The food is fresh and very tasty. But it can get loud if you are there when it's busy. Love Xolo.
Fantastic. Consistantly good food!
We ordered the Mahi Mahi blackened tacos, shrimp tacos, chicken quesadillas, and a steak burrito. The tacos were so skimpy they looked like the were on a diet! The fish tacos were blackened on the inside and the outside, looked as if they had ran out of fish because the pieces I received were so small. Service was slow and lackluster, we had to chase the server down for water refills. And the icing on the cake was the automatic gratuity for 4 ppl😕
Delicious food. Attentive staff. Will go back!
Love this restaurant but off the other night- service was really slow, the hostess/manager was on verge of being rude, and my favorite soup had a layer of oil on top - usually I love this restaurant.
The service was friendly and the margaritas were tasty but the food was not worth the cost-I have had better in center city Philadelphia which is also a costly place to dine. Their were only 4 shrimp on the fajitas-they were decent size but definitely not worth the $19. The Mahi Mahi tacos were okay seasoning but very dry. The fondue was too expensive with the added cost of chorizo which was like a tablespoon and not worth $12.50. Will not be coming back.
Always great food and drinks. Service is very friendly and accommodating .
Tried the cricket tacos for the first time - very interesting.
It was very noisy at 7:00pm.
Food was very good.
I sat at the bar with my sister at 5:30 (happy hour, ironically...it was nothing close to happy) on a Saturday and it was a bad experience from start to finish. The bartender was miserably unfriendly, did not crack a smile or say hello. One of the waitresses came to the bar to get drinks for her table and started miserably complaining about not wanting to be working that shift, obviously not concerned about customers hearing/seeing her attitude. Another waitress, apparently new, came to get an order for her table and was spoken to condescendingly by the bartender. There were tons of bar flies and the bar area was very unkempt. We ordered tacos and fajitas, which were mediocre at best. When we got the check, my sister quickly paid (because she was treating me to dinner and didn't want me to have time to argue with her about that) and didn't notice that the bartender charged us for 4 margaritas when we only had 2, and he charged us the regular price for the tacos, not the happy hour price. The manager happened to appear at that time, apologized for the bartender's mistake and said he would adjust the check/refund the credit card. Well he did just that, but refunded the NEW check which had the correct amount on it, not the OLD more expensive check that my sister had paid. He adjusted the check again to the proper amount and said he refunded the old check, but did not have a receipt to show us, and became very flustered and short with us. We were so eager to get out of there that my sister just paid the new check and planned to check her credit card statement online to make sure the refund did occur. I will NEVER go back there again.
Good food and drinks for a Friday night, gets noisy/energetic. Young staff would benefit from more training but try their best.
Waited 5 minutes at the door and still no hostess. Finally flagged down a waitress and was sat. Extremely busy and not well staffed. Our waitress was great and did everything to make things better. Food was delicious. Restaurant may want to invest in a better A/C system .
I had a burrito with pork carnitas and while it looked basic it was so flavorful. And while it had only a bit of sauce on top, it was perfectly moist and, again, bursting with flavor. Guacamole was fresh and tasty. My friend got three little chorizo tacos and was disappointed there was no lettuce, but then ate them all up because they were delicious. I had a yummy caipirinha and my friend enjoyed her classic margarita. Free chips and salsa were a nice opener.
The food is always great, especially the shrimp tacos and margaritas! The wait staff is very friendly and attentive, and meets your every need. I would definitely recommend Xolo.
The food was incredible. Service was super kind and helpful. Margaritas were full of flavor and very fresh tasting. Absolutely will be back!!
We had another great dinner at Xolo.
The chicken fajitas were delicious, everyone raved about what they ordered including the drinks.
The margaritas and mojitos are very well served. Will be back.
I'll start with the bus boy - 1. he poured our water and then replaced the glass with his hand entirely covering the mouth of the glass. 2. He was resetting a table next to us and dropped a fork, which he decided to use vs. replacing with a clean fork. 3. When wiping of the tables, he just moved the rag around, leaving crumbs, etc. still noticeable on the table.
Our service was ok, confusing. There was a server who seemed to be handling a majority of the tables, running around crazy. There were a few other server's who just seemed clueless. Our server did the best she could with the chaos she was dealing with. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It just seemed bland and basic - was hoping for better flavor and authenticity. The only saving grace was the Margarita.
Nice atmosphere and surprisingly good food. Overall good value for dollar spent.
Great place for tequila and to sit outside with some tasty tacos
Delicious food in an authentic yet contemporary atmosphere. The staff and owner are wonderful!
The food was excellent and we enjoyed our time at your restaurant. It was my second time dining and would recommend it to everyone.
Great food and ambiance. Would eat here again.
Dining with three friends is perfect to share the 3 tacos plates that they don't allow you to mix.
The food was delicious and the service was very, very good. The owner came over to our table to greet us and offered us an after dinner drink on the house! Would definitely go back!
Xolos was amazing I had a great time for dinner I would highly recommend. The food was so good and just very well seasoned I recommend trying the salmon or trying the shrimp and chicken fijitas ! 5 out of 5 ! Will be going back soon !
Sons bday.. food was great..service was as well
Everything at Xolo is wonderful. From the food to the drinks to the service to the artwork. The owner, Carlos makes sure all his guests are having a wonderful time. Such a range of delicious and unique margaritas. The tacos are yummy and so reasonably priced! And the guacamole is great, always fresh. I highly recommend the tilapia tacos and the squash flower tacos. I’ve even tried their cricket taco a couple of times which is surprisingly yummy. My favorite margarita is the tamarind margarita. And don’t forget dessert!
Great guacamole. Boring chips. Mediocre service.
Serving sizes were generous and well prepared. The service was reasonably attentive, although sometime slow with refilling water and other beverage glasses. It was a little loud, however, making conversation challenging. I would return as it is very conveniently located, but it wouldn't be my first choice for that cuisine.
Great food. Reasonable prices. Would go back
Great food and great people.
Julia was an excellent waitress. She understood the menu and drinks well. Offered her suggestions and made the evening great.
The food was excellent. We will go again.
Xolos before used to be my go to spot for margaritas with friends. But now it’s our go to spot for everything ! It’s perfectly right in the center of all of our colleges ! I go to Villanova and my best friends attend Harcum , Bryn Mawr & rosemont so we all just get together there. The happy hour is UNBELIEVABLY good ! You can get tacos and guacamole ! The staff greets you as soon as you walk in welcoming you into a friendly environment! The food is authentic as can get! All of the recipes fill my taste buds and we tend to Order more then we can eat but that’s why they offer take out boxes so we can have lunch the next day ! Overall if your looking to enjoy a meal with family friends or even host a work meeting xolos will accommodate you to your liking ! I recommend xolos to my parents friends and even grandparents ! 10 out of 10 !
