Sesame prawn toast
Wagyu beef puff
Peking duck bao
This place was brilliant. The staff were on their last night before presumably going onto furlough and even still they were great fun and provided great service. hopefully see them soon
Reserved a table in the restaurant but they put us in the bar which was a tiny table staring at a wall with zero atmosphere. They wouldn’t move us when I asked. Food was ok but most dishes came up stone cold which is not what I’d expect for the price they charge. Pretty disappointed. Have been a few times they have some good dishes but don’t really rate it for the price.
Good covid measure. I chose outdoor seating and they gave heater next to the tables. Food is nice as always
We had another excellent meal at Yauatcha and are so glad that, somehow, over the years, the quality of the food here has remained outstanding. The service, too, is great. However, with prices up significantly in the past few years, this is no longer a reasonable quick option and it's a shame that the decor and ambience feels a bit worn and jaded. Don't get me wrong, we will be back, faithfully, but we would love to see an upgrade, starting with the extremely low uncomfortable chairs!
Very delicious food. Dimsum and large plates both are must haves. Could live off of the beef puffs
Slow service meant that we couldn’t actually enjoy the food given curfew... apology was half hearted and a shame given I’m a big fan of the food and the restaurant
Fabulous food and great service as always. The prawn and bean curd and prawn, scallop and asparagus stir fry were exceptional. Will be back post lockdown 2.0
Food was not impressive. Wine list wasn’t either.
I personally think it’s way too expensive for what you get!
The food was outstanding. Very yummy and decent portions. Left very full! Food also came out in very good time.
The food was good, however, we wanted to go for the tasting menu but were convinced by the waitress to go for A la carte menu given some of our tasting choices had extra costs on them. We took her advice but worked out that we ate a lot less and paid a lot more, so we were really disappointed in the bad recommendation. It was our anniversary meal and definitely ruined the experience for us, which was a real shame.
Food was great and servings were adequate - All of us got the Tradition set. Social distancing measures were taken seriously as well which is of great comfort to know.
wonderful dim sum, delicious dishes, beautiful and tasty desserts - we had a lovely family brunch
The food was wonderful, quantity and taste is worth it! However, the service was a rushed and food from the set menu was delayed or in one case completely forgotten...
Brilliant service, good food and good value for money. Only con was the seats are suppppper low. Thank God I wasn’t wearing heels or my knees would be up by my chin.
The waitress was very helpful in suprising my brother with the desserts I had ordered for his bday.
The food was very good as per usual.
It wasnt too loud although the table right next to us was comparatively very noisy- this of course is not the restaurant's fault.
My only real gripe would be the unhelpful person I had spoken to over the phone when try to make a booking and order from their patisserie.
So pleased we were able to celebrate our sons 16th birthday just before lockdown. The food was amazing as always and the staff were great.
Great food and great customer service. One of my favourite!
I am a regular to Yauatcha, but my last visit was terrible. Grumpy waiter, too busy to take orders, then once you finally make the order not all the food arrives. Dim Sum was cold. Probably one of my worst visits in a long time. A shame as this used to be a great experience.
The restaurant ambience is quite dark. We knew the menu was pricey before we booked. Saying that the food is very flavoursome and the staff are friendly and attentive.
A family lunch that did not disappoint. The food was exemplary and lots of it. The service was very good and the staff were all very welcoming and friendly, including the gentleman charged with taking temperatures as you enter. My only criticism is that the tables seemed a bit too close to each-other (from a corona perspective). Will definitely return very soon and HIGHLY recommend. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time
The place was quite empty due to the global pandemic which was actually nice as we have been few times and it was very noisy. This time it was pleasant and we were able to have a conversation.
We got seated at a table but been asked (in a very clumsy way by a lovely waiter) to change table as a lady sitting behind us was very uncomfortable having people 2meters away from her. We got moved somewhere else but as people were starting to arrive, we ended being surrounded and social distancing wasn't respected.
The food arrived quickly but wasn't very warm and as good as I remembered. Good thing was we got asked if we wanted to take away our left overs.
It is a bit overpriced for a few dumplings and sparkling water.
I was a big fan before but I found that the experience wasn't as great as when I came last in March.
I went years ago and I loved it but when we went Saturday it has changed a lot.....very loud and underneath masks makes it very hard to hear people. We were left at the door not knowing what to do, We got given the wrong food and we sat for quite a while without being noticed. Things weren’t explained very well at all!
Service was very appalling and really put a dampener on our night. We were rushed out at 9.50 and starters came at different times took over an hour for mains to come and were rushed to eat.
We went to use the restroom following our meal. We were then demanded to leave whilst using the restroom by a male barging into the ladies room absoloutely awful and unprofessional.
Don’t waste your money here !
Fantastic service by Sergio - great food and wine - always a favourite. Excellent Covid Safe practice when dealing with customers. Thus is one of my favourite restaurants in London the food is on another level - thank you
Really enjoyed our evening & food was rather good. Only disappointment was the gluten free options were very limited. Great atmosphere and would come again.
Amazing food and beautiful place in Central, the menus available are great value as well, it was hard to finish everything though !
My main course was overcooked with the chicken tough and tasteless. The price of water was extortionate and the service indifferent.
I went to the restaurant anticipating a great meal and came away thoroughly dissatisfied with the fare I was served.
The finest quality food. I have never had a dish that I did not like. A fabulous culinary experience.
Still the best place in London for dim sum. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
I’ve always been a huge Yauatcha fan. I’ve celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, every days at Yauatcha and what made me return was the ambiance and the food.
I was especially keen to celebrate my birthday in a restaurant during these tough times to help out.
However as a vegetarian I was so disappointed with the choices, I might never return again.
ALL bar one option had mushrooms in them. How very unadventurous and single minded. Almost like a menu put together by someone who not only isn’t vegetarian, but quite obviously has no imagination. I understand the need for a limited menu during COVID-19 times, but please don’t become mediocre and unimaginative. Have faith, times will get better and your customers will return. Don’t serve up such a uninspired limited menu that they might never return.
Wishing the team safety and good health. We will all come out of this. Soon.
Yauatcha was my favourite London restaurant and some aspects are still good. But similar to another review we had plates taken seconds after taking a mouthful, strange as it was almost empty. The lunchtime deal was good £29 including glass of champagne but little touches such as only 1 macaroon for desert each and the green tea being charged to refill (not previous policy), take the shine off.
Their crispy duck still takes some beating though.
Food really excellent but not cheap.
Waiters not keeping their distance.
Menu choices complicated
Fine cuisine in the modern neo-Chinese style. Excellent dim sum at the time we ate (14.00), and subtle green jasmine tea. Attentive (but not over-enthusiastic) service. Reasonable distancing, although the table alongside us was a little close. Noisy background music required slightly raised voices when ordering, and in conversation.
The service was poor. It was a struggle to get any sort of service. Very disappointed seeing as I have been coming for almost a decade
Fantastic food, drinks and atmosphere. The staff are amazing. They looked after us incredible well!
We were there to celebrate birthday - food was amazing as always, however the interior of the restaurant wasn’t great as I expected. I’d only been to the City one which looks nicer, I wasn’t sure if it’s because COVID the restaurant made some changes to the layout and decoration, but we were sitting on the ground floor which looks like a waiting area rather than actual restaurant, the table wasn’t comfortable and lighting wasn’t nice. It wasn’t great experience for a special occasion. However we were still happy with the food and service.
Poor service despite lots of people moving around. Restaurant feels past it’s prime. Food was fine but not great.
The food was great especially the crispy duck!!! !!
Tried the explore menu. Too many dishes required to pay an additional price; the dim sums were fine, but the staple dishes like fried rice and noodles were not worth it.
