Zizzi - Croydon

I got a set menu but didn’t state it to the manager who took the order. When I went to order the dessert she got quite annoyed, was saying very loudly that I’ve changed my mind and I’m now ordering the set menu to other staff, was huffing and puffing. From this moment, she stopped checking on my table and it was completely neglected. Terrible service. But I still have a tip because other staff shouldn’t be penalised by the manager’s distasteful and poor attitude. I’d recommend zizzi’s always, but watch out for this grumpy manager!!

Superb service and atmosphere. The food is wonderful and fresh.

We had prawn linguine and goats cheese pizza, both were really excellent. Service was also excellent, very impressed by your restaurant, high quality, service & food. Thank-you we really enjoyed our meal with you.

It's a standard zizzi, you know what you're getting. Service started out really good but when they got busy it took us a while to get the waitresses attention to order dessert and then to pay the bill.

Food was all delivered quickly and was delicious :-)

Lack of/abscense of meat in the meat dishes, lack of taste and spices

Hi we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals,while we found the service slow we appreciate that the restaurant was busy on the evening ,also as we were seated upstairs possibly the patrons downstairs were given priority. How ever the food was excellent ,as were the drinks,the cost for the nine of us was good value.Would highly recommend the restaurant to family and friend ,overall a good night had by all.

I love the look and ambiance if this place. Exposed brick and bubbly conversation every time I go. The service was slow but very friendly. Good selection of beers and the food was good. A tiny bit lacking in flavour but beautifully cooked.

We had a buy one get one free voucher on all food ordered so thought we'd give Zizzi a try. We booked though the Opentable website but on arriving, our booking was not on their list and this seems to be a regular problem having read the reviews. We waited ages for our drinks, our starters were poor. My calamari was cold and not crispy at all, and I could have made a better bruschetta than what my partner got. We both ordered the Mediterranean hanging skewers (one chicken and one fish) but they weren't that great either, the fish being really overcooked and dry. We wish we'd just ordered pizzas in the end to be honest. Didn't fancy staying for desserts. It's a shame as I've been to a couple of other Zizzi restaurants but it appears they have gone downhill. We will stick to the Strada restaurants in future.

Nice venue for dinner with friends or to take the kids along for a night with the family.

First time at this restuarant and it was a very overall good experience. My wife and I currently live and work in UK coming from the US . We have been in numorous Italian places in Chicago, NYC and all over the EU. I would have to say that this would make my top 10. Kudos !!!

Was very disappointed to book via this website to find booking had not been sent through to the restaurant. Good news the restaurant had room for 7 people.

This is possibly the worst Zizzi I have ever been to- and it is the second time I have been as I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt! Service was atrocious, they had no record of our booking, eventually we were seated and ignored for over half an hour. We asked he waiter to take our order twice , and we were told 'one minute' about 5 times... We were almost walking out when the manager decided to take our order.. Luckily the pizza did not let them down, but I won't be back

Went to zizzi with my fiancé after a long days work. Nice atmosphere always reliable with the food. Good service. Menu options keep changing and they had run out of calamari but overall was good evening

I was very disappointed to find on New Years Eve there was no record of the booking made online the day before - even though I had a confirmation email and a lady had called from the restaurant that morning to confirm the booking and check the time etc. After a very awkward wait at the door whilst they discussed this at the back of the restaurant they did however have a table free as there were very few diners and it was still only early evening (it was only half full when we left).

Booked table online but on arrival they were not expecting us - I guess they didn't have the latest printout as we did book only an hour before arriving. We were accommodated with ease as it was not too busy. The wait for food was not too long, we all had very different dishes and it was all cooked very well.
Would happily eat at this any other Zizzi based on our experiences.

Visited Zizzi in Croydon with a group of friends. We were given a nice table slightly out of the hub, which was great for us. We weren't rushed at all and felt comfortable to just chat away. Food was good, nice portion sizes. The prosecco tasted good too.

Very busy & not enough staff on to cope, but when food eventually arrived was great, and service with a smile depite being busy...would go again

We chose this place, having found the Manchester branch surprisingly good. But it was not quite upto the same standard. Customers much younger and more boisterous than those in Manchester. We chose the same menu items. On balance the fish had a texture which seemed more fried, and the chicken wrapped in ham was more "solid". The outstanding feature was again the NZ sauvignon blanc which had the lovely flowering smell and taste we first loved about such wine. Friendly waiter who chatted to us about Poland. Think we will go again but probably try the pasta next time.

Excellent warm welcome when we arrived, and our order was taken by a very professional waitress who was very helpful and attentive, particularly as I changed my order about 5 minutes after she had taken the order to the kitchen. I was very impressed and enjoyed the meal and the service. The food was also excellent. Very generous starter (anti-pasti) and perfectly cooked main course. (chicken breast wrapped in ham, with roast potatoes and green beans). Excellent value too. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly, I really enjoyed my having my meal at your restaurant.

I visited Zizzi with a friend and its a great place to catch up in. I had the chicken risotto which was really nice. I'd definitely come back to this branch.

The ladies who served us were really friendly even though it was clearly quite busy as they were running around the restaurant. The food was generally quite tasty but the portions were awful, paid 14 pounds for a pizza and it was sooooooo small ! This restaurant has to realise that in Croydon bigger pizzas at the same price can be acquired and with a reasonable taste. Consequently I will not be returning to zizi because I would like to spend my money more wisely.

Good good as always, spoilt by a leaky rough and a large group (at least 25)of loud youths! Shame as like the food but clientele becoming questionable!

A lovely evening at Zizzi's with the girls, the food was good and 'as expected' and I was pleased there was a decent bottle of wine on the menu that didn't cost a fortune especially given that we went through 5 bottles!

The food was so good that i accidentally threw up after eating too much. On the plus side I made more space to finish my dinner :)

I do really like coming to Zizzi in Croydon, the service is always fantastic. Great food and always good value with offers floating about. I had the lasagne which was brilliant which I'd definitely recommend!

We went to celebrate my wife's birthday in a large group. The service was impeccable and nothing was too trouble for the staff. The food was impressive as ever and we all can't wait to visit it again.

we went to zizzis corydon with a party of 4 adults and 2 children at 7pm and the restaurant was busy but we were waiting a long time to be served which is not what we have come to expect from hre. it was evident that they were understaffed and a meal that usually takes an hour took 2.5 hours and with 2 children aged 5 it was hard work. the food was good once it eventually came but the money we paid for the food and wait was not good. i would not go back in the evening again.

we went for a quick lunch that was lovely and great service as it wasnt too busy. the food in here is always great and i will go back with friend s again.

Been visiting Zizzis for years but stopped going about a year ago as it had gone really down hill, some friends wanted to go last Saturday night so we agreed and were pleasantly surprised! I'm not sure if its under new management but good service good food and good atmosphere! If you want fairly cheap and cheerful then it's a good place to go! We had the Italian tapas which made a nice change!

We booked for a birthday party. They have a large space at the top for groups and were able to take a booking of 20 at fairly short notice. The service was a little slow but they were very accommodating of all our different choices. The food was yummy. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend it.
