The food was amazing. Marilyn was super nice! I had a good time.

This was our first experience with African food. We are big fans of the owner and were really looking forward to the experience. It did not disappoint. Our server was happy to make recommendations which we followed. The meal was expensive but definitely worth it.

I loved this place! What a treat to learn live jazz on Monday and Thursday nights! The food was excellent, although I prefer more spice/hot than they served, - more traditional Ethiopian style - after adding some spicy sauce and powders, it was fantastic!

Ethiopic is a great neighborhood Ethiopian restaurant in H St Corridor. I especially love the vegetarian sampler and the Awaze Tibs. The food is reliably delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!!

Chercher was one of the highlights of our Washington, DC trip! We love Ethiopian food and don’t have many opportunities to enjoy it back home in Oklahoma, so we were excited to try Chercher—and it exceeded our expectations. We started with the sambusas, then shared the vegetable sampler with fresh injera, the beef tibs, and the doro wat. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The beef tibs ended up being our favorite, and my husband also really enjoyed trying two Ethiopian beers. The service was warm and welcoming, and the staff was happy to answer our questions and make recommendations. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it easy to slow down and enjoy the meal. If you’re visiting DC and want to experience something beyond the typical tourist restaurants, Chercher is absolutely worth the visit. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town!
