Fully licenced and located in the centre of town just off George Street and 5 minutes from Princes Street and the Station.Dutch inspired and owned.Homemade drinks and all food prepared fresh daily.We pride ourselves on sourcing top quality local ingredients and make our products fresh on the premises as much as we can. The Abbotsford serves wholesome pub food in one of the busiest parts of Edinburgh’s New Town. Classic pub fare is the mainstay of the menu, with dishes including beer battered haddock and chips, steak and ale pie, and haggis, neeps and tatties, and diners have the choice of dining al fresco, in the main bar, or in the restaurant. Situated at 3-5 Rose Street this is a pub beloved by diners and popular with locals and tourists alike. Edinburgh Waverley station is a five minute walk on foot, and historic Edinburgh Castle and the famous Royal Mile are a ten minute walk. Please note due to our license we are unable to accommodate children under the age of five in the restaurant.

Set in twenty acres of gorgeous parkland yet a short drive from the Royal Mile, Rhubarb and its hotel home, Prestonfield, are the creation of James Thomson. Black-kilted porters escort you to Rhubarb's two oval Regency dining rooms decorated in baroque splendour, with giant chandeliers, silk wall coverings, and ancestral portraits. The menu, created by chef John McMahon, uses classic techniques and modern inspiration to transform ingredients into sublime grub. Popular dishes include the Gewurztraminer poached foie gras, the breast of Loue chicken on tarragon risotto, and the assiette of rhubarb desserts. There are more than five hundred wines to choose from, and more than one hundred malts.
