Atmosphere and service was excellent. Lamb dishes are heavenly, even chicken and vegetarian dishes are delicious. £40 to £50 per head for two course meals. Recommend for special occasions

Where do I start? My wife and I arrived in York earlier than expected, so we decided to see if we could get our table early, we were greeted by Richmond who gave us a warm welcome and said he would be happy to accommodate us which, was wonderful. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming with a lovely Moroccan feel to the decor, we were seated and Richmond brought menus and water to the table. My wife happened to mention it was my birthday and Richmond brought me a mocktail on the house which was very much appreciated. I had the vegetable tagine and my wife had the chicken tagine both were brought out piping hot along with a basket of bread each. The food was absolutely delicious, very well spiced without being over the top. This was our first outing to a Moroccan restaurant so we were very impressed. After the main meal Richmond very kindly gifted me a dessert and another drink for myself and my wife. All in all this was a brilliant experience and Richmond is a credit to the establishment, we would not hesitate to return and would very happily recommend.

Lovely gem of a place. Attentive staff and delicious food. I went to celebrate my birthday in the afternoon so wanted a chilled atmosphere which is exactly what I got. Cocktails/Mocktails and food were all delicious and large portions. I will definitely be back to visit
