Bar Douro brings Portuguese food and wine to the heart of Greek Street, Soho. Small plates of petiscos and pratinhos sit alongside the grill, where the beef is vaca velha: cows of six years or older from Portugal’s native breeds, given time to deepen in flavour. The breed changes each week, from Maronesa, Minhota, Mirandesa, Arouquesa and Barrosã, and it is cooked simply over the open grill. Our cellar runs the length of Portugal, from crisp Vinho Verde to the old vine reds of the Douro, chosen to match the kitchen rather than sit apart from it.Order a few plates to share, or let the team guide you through the Taste of Portugal set menu.There is a private dining room downstairs for groups and celebrations of up to 14 people.
