Carolyn’s Modern Vietnamese is Chef Carolyn Nguyen’s restaurant on Walnut Street, a short walk from Rittenhouse Square. Vietnamese heritage. Louisiana roots. French café spirit. Carolyn grew up in a Vietnamese family in South Louisiana, and this menu tells her own story.Dinner is built for sharing. Signatures include bánh canh “seafood boil” noodles and dry-aged beef wrapped in betel leaves. The menu is seasonal, and every dish is served as the chef designed it, with no modifications. The bar pours an all-Pennsylvania wine list alongside house cocktails and spirit-free drinks.The sage-green dining room and five-seat bar are made for date night and small celebrations.
