Lupe Tortilla has stayed true to its standards—only fresh ingredients, scratch-made recipes, and cozy but evolving atmosphere. Lupe Tortilla’s menu is made of Tex-Mex tradition, crafted with authenticity. We are walk-ins only during evenings and all weekend**Betty Carrier was a strong-willed, single mother who raised 3 boys while passionately running various locations of a Mexican restaurant company in Houston, Texas. Betty was known for her intense love, loyalty, and ability to make any stranger feel like family. She didn’t have a lot, but she had her boys and practiced a “Whatever It Takes” approach to balancing the demands of running restaurants with the demands of raising 3 sons alone. Loving and leading her family while setting an example of her tireless work ethic is what drove her to excel in all the Mexican restaurants that she was a part of.Passing in 2010, Betty had instilled in her sons the passion for family, work, and Mexican food! Though she is no longer with us, her love for her family, her guests, and the food will forever live on. Her work is done, but her passion for Mexican food lives on.

    We came to Sortino’s for my 21st birthday and overall had a great experience. It did take a while for our entire party to arrive and in that time we enjoyed drinks and once our party was seated we ordered and I’m not sure if there was a miscommunication between ordering or in the kitchen but one of the members in our party ordered a the stuffed chicken purses and was brought seafood. Our party is not one to start eating if everyone doesn’t have their food and we waited an extra 10-15 mins for our entire table to get their food. I was given a complementary birthday dessert and birthday shot since it was my 21st. I would’ve liked there to be some sort of discount on the chicken plate as it took an extra amount of time, but overall we had a fantastic experience and our waiter was super friendly. I believe his name may have been Marcus but I don’t remember correctly. The food was absolutely fantastic, some of the best dishes we’ve had. The blueberry lemon drop is absolutely amazing and we definitely recommend Sortino’s!

    Fish city has to be one of my favorite restaurants ever. Always delicious and well prepared, quality meals. Staff is on point, very kind, and very friendly. As tough as it is to afford a night out, this place makes it worth it.
