Il Convivio first opened its doors in 1990 in Rome, tucked away in one of the most beautiful corners of the historic center, just behind Piazza Navona.As interest in the restaurant grew, its excellence was officially recognized in 1993 with the award of a Michelin star.In 1999, we moved to Vicolo dei Soldati 31, into a spacious and charming location. The restaurant features three elegant rooms within a historic palace, topped by an ancient tower where—as the story goes—soldiers once stood watch while stationed in the alleyway below.

    Had the best meal of our lives. The service was impeccable and the food was unmatched. We’re huge foodies and dine in nice places all around the world. Il Convivio will be our new standard. And I can’t say enough about all of the gentleman who took care of us. We could tell they all love what they do.

    Wonderful beautiful quaint rooftop restaurant in a very exquisite hotel. The lighting was perfect, food was amazing and well plated, waiter was unbelievably nice. They even gave us complementary dessert and candies bc we were celebrating our honeymoon. Food perfect.

    This restaurant was established less than a year ago and is not well known, yet. The chef takes pride in substituting ingredients for traditional Italian dishes. For example, I was served Cordon-Bleu that contained no chicken or pork, yet it was delicious. Worth the trip for a creative food experience.
