The Farmhouse at Redcoats is a beautiful 15th century farmhouse nestled in the north Hertfordshire countryside. Sherwin Jacobs heads the kitchen and delivers quality, fresh, local produce, much of which is grown in the no-dig garden and onsite polytunnel. Feast over fire events, pop-up BBQs and supper club events litter the calendar. The food is award-winning - Best Premium Food, Good Food Guide, Food Made Good Award, 2 star rosette kitchen etc. Private dining is available across several charismatic rooms in the main house - The Old Kitchen, The Victorian Room and The Oak Room. There are 24 rooms available and the Barns venue across the courtyard is regarded as one of the best wedding venues in the country, regularly winning awards.     Service very helpful and attentive. Food excellent and thoughtfully paced. The Sunday night was quiet but that suited us. Anniversary, mentioned in reservation, was marked with a petal strewn table. Surrounded by a splendid display of art. Pricy but very enjoyable.

    This is a restaurant in a good hotel so had the relaxed lounge style ambience you might expect which was rather pleasing with the space being open and airy. The food, whilst not exotic and challenging on the menu was absolutely fabulous, every dish cooked to perfection. The chicken dishes were wonderful. The staff were also brilliant, attentive but not too overbearing, and very polite. In all it was exactly what we wanted for a quick but delicious two course meal out. Would recommend for mixed groups and will be going back myself. Parking in hotel was easy and free.
