Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community.     First time eating here for my Mom’s birthday and we keep talking about how great it was! We started with the bread service and pate and tried the cured tuna appetizer. All delicious and the pate reminded us of the pate served at La Provence. Drinks were delicious and food came out fast! Ordered the mussels & frites, duck pasta, and veal, all were incredible (bonus: best fries I’ve ever had). We all shared the apple tarte and the caramel crossaint ice cream for dessert. Left very full. Inside was beautiful, light, and quiet even when the restaurant was filled. Definitely recommend!

    The deserts were the star of the day. Blueberry bread pudding was absolutely delicious. The earl grey crème brûlée was also fabulous. We will definitely be back. Beautiful setting in downtown Covington.

    Although there are several fantastically good restaurants on the Northshore, Dakota Restaurant may well be the best. A bit of a problem can be parking. They have no parking lot, so you need to use street parking or oxlot parking. Much depends on the day and time, as to whether parking is an issue.
