Chef and owner Joel Gilbert decided after years of searching for the perfect location that he was going to begin his journey with his first brick and mortar restaurant on the most Northern Point of Forest Lake, in Lake Zurich Illinois. After years of working and running restaurant establishments and working with his company Butter & biscuit Co. at local farmers markets, Joel has established great friendships and partnerships with some of the best local farmers. Joel took this opportunity to use the best seasonal products for his Italian inspired cuisine.     Have been going here since it opened. Food never disappoints. Service was wonderful. Cocktails were great. The owner actually came to our table with a taste test for the July 31 Bari, Italy dinner. The sample was so good, convincing enough that we plan to attend the function.

    Our dinner was absolutely wonderful. All four meals came to our table so hot we couldn’t eat it. The service was impeccable. Aldo was our server and he did not overlook anything. We had a wonderful table outside and the weather was perfect. We highly recommend Enzo and Lucia’s. Glenn takes care of his customers.

    Lago is a fine dining Italian steakhouse. We always find the staff friendly and attentive. The bar and wine list will satisfy just about everyone's taste. Our latest visit, we had the smoked filet mignon tartare for the appetizer. Absolutely delicious. The hangar steak with roasted chimichurri cabbage was perfection. A smoked s'mores bread pudding for dessert capped off the meal. One order was easily enough for 2. Service was top notch and the general manager and other supervisors are always circulating and making sure all aspects of your dining experience meet or exceed your expectations.
